His staff, with their beautiful smiles, pleasant conversation, perfectly pressed uniforms, and professional demeaner, were impressive as well. I had planned to use another caterer for my daughter's 35th birthday party this coming April, but today I left a message with Chef Ausar to see if Kitchen Magician Catering can do the party instead. I hope they have the date still open, but I know I'll have other events I will ask for Chef Ausar's majic. One item I know I'm going to ask for is the mac & cheese balls I read about in one of his reviews. That's my daughter's favorite!

While the angel hair pasta (with staggeringly brilliant pesto and chicken) was the highlight of my meal, they also made a Southern section with favorite Southern dishes to give my husband's Michigan family a taste of Richmond! Crisp fresh fried green tomatoes, classic shrimp and grits, and so much more. Their generosity didn't stop with just the perfect meal-- Cater 2 Events worked with us to learn exactly what we wanted from our reception. We wanted dancing and togetherness-- which meant positioning both a dance floor and dining area. Cater 2 Events regularly works with the venue-- The Estate at River Run-- and were able to find the perfect arrangement for everyone to share the evening with us. They kept us on schedule, were helpful and friendly, and even stuck around for the clean up. This caterer went above and beyond to make us feel important. From planning to dining to saying goodbye, our experience was all the richer with them alongside us.

Each vendor at this convention was super sweet and we had a blast. The convention center is HUGE. It took us a bit to figure out which entrance we needed to go to, when we did find where to get tickets it felt like we had also entered a cafeteria lounge space. The main part of the convention was further away, which we didn't mind. I imagine this varies from convention to convention, but be prepared to do a lot of walking. The space where the vendors go was a bit in the back without windows, in true convention fashion. One of my favorite parts of the quilt one was seeing the quilts that looked like paintings. I'd recommend attending a conference or convention here.

I really appreciated getting to read her speech ahead of time. I was worried that, because we aren't religious and didn't have any special passages to read, the ceremony would be bland, but Mary Lee put together a moving piece that honestly made me cry the first time I read it. She's also flexible - a few months before the wedding we decided to add a moment of silence for deceased loved ones, and it was no problem. AND she's funny - we were giggling through our entire rehearsal. :)

The couple was super "themselves" and had a very specific vision of what they wanted the ceremony to entail (I know, I helped them plan it and put it together!) Mary followed their vision to a tee. She kept the ceremony light-hearted and short (it was a pretty blustery November day) just as the couple had requested. Despite the wind and the fact that we were outside she spoke loudly enough for everyone to hear her. Mary made the entire process as easy as possible for the couple which is so important! (Really, who has time to worry about more details on their wedding day or the time leading up to it???) I had an amazing officiant at my wedding so I can relate to how important these details are. Finally, and most importantly, Mary is completely open-minded to all requests and knows when to interject with thoughts and knows when to keep silent and respect the couples' wishes. As much as I LOVED my officiant, I wish I'd had the privilege of working with Mary Lee!!!
