I really appreciated getting to read her speech ahead of time. I was worried that, because we aren't religious and didn't have any special passages to read, the ceremony would be bland, but Mary Lee put together a moving piece that honestly made me cry the first time I read it. She's also flexible - a few months before the wedding we decided to add a moment of silence for deceased loved ones, and it was no problem. AND she's funny - we were giggling through our entire rehearsal. :)

The couple was super "themselves" and had a very specific vision of what they wanted the ceremony to entail (I know, I helped them plan it and put it together!) Mary followed their vision to a tee. She kept the ceremony light-hearted and short (it was a pretty blustery November day) just as the couple had requested. Despite the wind and the fact that we were outside she spoke loudly enough for everyone to hear her. Mary made the entire process as easy as possible for the couple which is so important! (Really, who has time to worry about more details on their wedding day or the time leading up to it???) I had an amazing officiant at my wedding so I can relate to how important these details are. Finally, and most importantly, Mary is completely open-minded to all requests and knows when to interject with thoughts and knows when to keep silent and respect the couples' wishes.
