One can see them proudly hung in local businesses and private homes throughout Richmond. Most notably: Phil's Continental Lounge, Miller and Rhoads Condominium Lobby, The 2300 Club, and many more. My experience was in purchasing some of these historic prints in order to frame then as a Christmas gift for a friends home. The prints are black and white and start out at $20.00 unframed and $60.00 framed for a 5x7 size and go up from there. Dementi was started in 1924 and is now run by the third generation. The studio also offers professional head shots, portfolios, portraits, wedding and event photography and even will rent studio space in the building should you choose to shoot your own. I am also pleased to say that they are keeping up with the times by offering on line review of photos. A portrait session I was quoted for 8 prints was $100.00 which I think was very affordable. Next time you are downtown, stop in and walk into the lobby to view all of the prints they have for sale. It is a wonderful walk though Richmond history. The first time we came it was on time and we loved the Dragon Tower escape room: it was the perfect mix of puzzle and action. This time we showed up 10 minutes early and they said they were running 5-10 minutes behind because of "cleaning issues". Well it turned into 20 minutes late so thankfully we already canceled our dinner reservations. I think it would've been fine if it wasn't $250 for a family of five for 38 minutes and the ninja trials escape room was not as exciting or interesting as dragon tower. Also one of the equipment pieces we were given was faulty so that made it less fun for one of us.

Pelagos VR is a fantastic addition to the area for unique entertainment, and there are so many…read moreoptions within it! Just as a quick rundown, there are three main types of VR here: the front area where you are strapped into a VR system and can run in place, a virtual escape room, and a VR action arena (large room with VR cameras on the walls and you can physically run around). I haven't tried the escape room and I liked the strap-in ones, though it's the VR arena that really elevates this place. So far I have done Patient Zero and several rounds of the Urban Assault in the arena, and it's an amazing experience. Between the excellent physical tracking, the true-recoil VR guns, and the actual movement in the real world mapping to the VR world, it is insanely immersive and easy to adapt to. It is quite exciting too: I was fortunate enough to participate in their latest tournament and it was chaotic fun from start to finish. The tournaments are a special treat because for now the entry fee is only $20 while the regular experiences run a fair bit more, so it's an insanely good deal for the amount of fun you're having. On top of the excellent experiences, I would be remiss if I didn't highlight their incredible staff. This is mostly a family-run place and it shows with how kind and personable everyone here is, with positive attitudes, a true love for what they do, and excellent mastery of VR tech and training new players. I have met the owner twice and he goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated for their visits. The most underrated part here is actually nothing to do with VR but actually their bar offerings: the happy hour here is every day of the week (including weekends) and you can get $4 beers (including a few local drafts) and very reasonably priced appetizers. If I were in the area and just wanted a quick beer with a friend before doing something else, I would absolutely come here for it at those fantastic prices. Since Pelagos VR is attached to the mall, there is plenty of lot parking very close by, so no issues there. Really the only drawback of this place is the price, particularly if you come by yourself or one other person as their price structure rewards larger groups. I would absolutely come here with a friend group because of that though a date night here would add up fast. I look forward to coming here again with friends, especially for the tournaments. This is one heck of an outing to look forward to! Overall: 5.0 stars ---- Pros: - Amazing and unique VR experiences, truly memorable in every way. - Multiple options, including stationary running, open arena, or escape room. - Fantastic staff who are kind, knowledgeable, and clearly happy to be there. - Excellent happy hour food deals, worth trying even without the VR. - Easy parking and access since attached to the mall. - Pricing for large groups and the tournaments are great... Cons: - ...though the cost for a small group (especially for only one or two people) is a bit prohibitive unless you have deep pockets. Their pricing is entirely reasonable given what you get for it, though this is really the only thing that keeps me from going every week. Maybe one day they'll have a membership or a punchcard pass option!

But because of that I think it is so incredibly important to be honest with yourself and your clients about what you can and cannot do. My sister never brought it up with Ashley because she did not want to give any bad feedback, but I would hate for another couple to experience the same on their wedding day. There is no point in hiring a coordinator if you are going to end up doing and planning it all yourself anyway. ______________ Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. My sister got married in Richmond in October of '24. I live in CA and helped her with whatever I could, but obviously, with a wedding, it helps to have someone with experience and knowledge of the industry and be hands-on on the ground. Enter Ashley. Now I did not work with Ashley directly nor do I know what her other skills entail, I can only go off of what I saw firsthand at both the rehearsal dinner and the actual wedding. Mind you, it's been a full 6 months at this point so this isn't even an emotion-filled rant or anything. I'd simply hate for this to happen to another couple. Your wedding is supposed to be the most important day of your life. And a coordinator is there to ensure it is, right? I've gone through Ashley's website page by page a dozen times to see if maybe we expected more than what was promised. My sister wanted her wedding to be very DIY, she had a very specific vision in mind for how she wanted it to look and feel. Part of that meant that they brought in a bunch of stuff from home. The few days before the wedding involved a ton of trips back and forth carting all the stuff to and from. I first met Ashley at the rehearsal dinner the day before the wedding. She seemed to know what she was doing as she was guiding the wedding party and officiant through what the ceremony would entail. The next morning, however, is when it became glaringly obvious that perhaps this was way more than one single person could handle. She was MIA when the groom tried calling and/or texting her so we ended up sending some family members to the venue to ensure someone would be there when vendors began to show up. They arrived about an hour or two before Ashley did. Since they had gotten a head start they had started decorating the church and reception area with all the fresh flowers. When they asked Ashley to takeover, she told them she wasn't a florist and therefore would not be handling any of the flowers. Fast forward to when the wedding party starts showing up and she is again, nowhere to be found. A bridesmaid is having issues with her dress and I told her to find Ashley as I know most coordinators usually carry a disaster kit with them with basic sewing essentials, I figured she'd have a safety pin or skin tape to help, but no one could find her. I'd say the worst of it though was everything after the wedding. While things had been somewhat consolidated to an area or two, stuff was thrown everywhere haphazardly. Maybe Ashley thought the other vendors were going to take care of it, maybe the other vendors thought she would? Either way, no one wants to show up the next morning to clean only to discover that nothing has been properly stored or put away! Most importantly, the goddamn cake! My sister did different pies instead of cake, it doesn't matter, she still wanted to keep them for their one-year anniversary. Where were the slices left? Outside, in a box, with other random leftovers that were left out overnight. I could go on and on about everything Ashley did and didn't do, but the truth is I would hate to have another couple hire her for a wedding only to find out the day of, they are going to be left on their own to figure it out for themselves. Coordinating parties is nothing compared to weddings and it is beyond disrespectful that someone would use their weekend side-hustle to sell a "month-of coordinator" service when what was given was anything but. Doing something as a hobby or because you are good at it is fine. But charging people hundreds or thousands of dollars to show up and not even do what you stated you would is just straight up nonsense.

The couple was super "themselves" and had a very specific vision of what they wanted the ceremony to entail (I know, I helped them plan it and put it together!) Mary followed their vision to a tee. She kept the ceremony light-hearted and short (it was a pretty blustery November day) just as the couple had requested. Despite the wind and the fact that we were outside she spoke loudly enough for everyone to hear her. Mary made the entire process as easy as possible for the couple which is so important! (Really, who has time to worry about more details on their wedding day or the time leading up to it???) I had an amazing officiant at my wedding so I can relate to how important these details are. Finally, and most importantly, Mary is completely open-minded to all requests and knows when to interject with thoughts and knows when to keep silent and respect the couples' wishes. As much as I LOVED my officiant, I wish I'd had the privilege of working with Mary Lee!!!

Even though they were over an hour away from us, we still felt that Hoot would take care of us. In the end this was one of the best decisions we made. For our package we opted for the engagement photo session, photo booth, and the 8 hours for our wedding. We had a few other add-ons that included prints and signing pictures. Everything came out quickly and included a very professional presentation. We were elated to see how creative Stephanie was with the things she gave us. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend using Hoot Media all over again. In a very competitive world of photography our key points were creativity, pricing, flexibility and turn-around time.
