MOVE FROM HELL. COPS INVOLVED. PTSD FROM BLAZE MOVING. Derek, the owner of Blaze Moving, showed up the morning of our move reeking of weed. We were following behind him in our cars and got lost because he was driving so fast ahead of us. He also insisted on us paying him 1 hour into our 6 hour drive. After we paid him, things went downhill. He decided to openly smoke weed at a gas station in Iowa during our lunch stop. The cops were called and he and my husband were taken into a cop car (because my husband was the passenger of the truck Derek was driving). Our truck was searched. My in-laws were with us and my mother-in-law broke down hysterically after seeing her son being taken into a cop car. It was a terrible experience. We are still dealing with the post traumatic stress of that experience. Derek said that he would repay us $200 by the end of the month for our "move from hell" (in his words). We never got our money back. We also missed our movers that were supposed to help us unload because of what happened with the cops. Derek tried to help us and found a random person off of craigslist. He then disappeared to "take a shit" and we never saw him again. We highly recommend looking elsewhere for a more professional and reliable mover. read more

It's a scam. Do not use this service. He for whatever reason has it linked to his political views and has a "moving podcast" he just spews disinformation on. If he spent more time taking his business seriously he'd probably have a pretty decent service. l'd advise using any other moving company. This moron kept going on and on about how taxpayers should pay his student loans and it wasn't his responsibility. You're a mover you obviously didn't use your degree. My message to Derek Lovelace offering constructive feedback. Followed up by his response via text. I wanted to take a couple of days to process our move experience with Blaze. I will not post the feedback online but I did want to provide it to you directly. As the business owner I felt your main focus was collecting funds & that was your only priority. 117pm- you checked in 118pm- I replied that we didn't have the correct tools to take apart a bed. At this point as a paying customer the expectation was 1. To receive a reply from you in a timely fashion ready to assist if needed. Whether it be bringing tools or at a MINIMUM contacting your guys offering assistance OR even contacting me... 2. I've had friends / family that have used moving services and these companies actually disassembled & reassembled at new location. Even a Google search will show that this service is within the responsibility of movers. After Your paying customers located an allen wrench the process picked up again. Over an hour later you did reply... 241pm- you replied "ok cool" & asked for final payment. But there wasn't a reply asking if the bed situation was resolved OR what the outcome was. Moving on... 353pm- I text that they were having issues getting the couch up to my apartment. And again, as the Business owner that I placed my faith and trust in I expected you to be on the sidelines ready to solve unforeseen challenges. Your "Best Crew" simply set my couch down - blocking the entryway to another apartment building. And continued to transport our items. * Side note- they didn't make any additional plans to offer me advice on what I should do OR what they needed to get the couch up. 452pm- I sent ANOTHER text stating move was done Except for my couch. Be mindful that I still hadn't had a reply to my 1st text sent at 352pm. At this point I still hadn't heard from you- I asked your crew- did they contact you? They replied no. And they were at their max of hours. It was becoming clear that I was going to have to take ownership for completion of a service that I've paid $450 for. Soooo, I made a call to you- you can begin to see how myself as the consumer that thought I could relax and let Blaze Handle it ... I was stressing at this point. 453pm- I had to call you. Your response was it would cost more money- $50. I replied, fine, whatever it takes. Here's where I KNEW I made a poor choice in selecting Blaze. Approx 450pm... Meanwhile your crew started to become oppositional & unprofessional... Stating I should've measured my couch - understand their timing of deflecting and shifting the blame to me really confirmed for me how inexperienced they are. They said they needed another man- I told them you were going to make some calls. This conversation began about 450pm & ended right before I received a text from you at 457pm. 457pm- You sent me 2 contacts for ME to call - all to complete the move that again - I've paid you for. I looked outside and your "BEST CREW" loaded up my couch and bounced. Derek you MUST understand as a business owner it is not your customer's responsibility to coordinate ANYTHING. It seems to me that when I sent you a text at 352pm - THEY should've been contacting you as well to get a 3rd man over. Instead they continued working and you didn't reply and we found ourselves -or rather I found MYSELF at the 9th hour scrambling to complete the move. And this is after I tipped them $20 each and of course paid you $450. In the end I ended up contacting Shango- (a contact you text me to call) felt swindled by him as when he pulled up there was only my cousin to help and her boyfriend so Shango says - "can my girl help and get paid too". I paid him and his wife $100 to compete the job. I Grossly overpaid your services for the customer service I received. I'll add some feedback so you may think twice before hiring these 2 men again. 1- Grabbing a bag with frames and a round mirror behind it - which fell to the floor when they quickly grabbed the bag. 2. Led lights on a mirror are broken. Which we're working perfectly fine prior to move. 3. A light controller i have is broken. These 2 items are estimated at $40 total. I'll be replacing them. Please ensure at a minimum that the tips of $40 are refunded. I wanted to hire someone I knew because friends and family should support people they know. To say the least I'm disappointed. See photos of our follow up texts. When Derek says I told him everything was fine at the final payment- this text was 1 hour into the move. Much more happened AFTER I made payment. UPDATE- Derek Lovelace said he would refund the $40 in tips- I paid this Prior to the issues happening. He said he would pay in 7 days- I waited 8 days- requested refund of tips - he denied this and has now blocked me on Cash App. This man has zero integrity. Absolutely blown away and shocked as I KNOW his parents raised him better than this. read more

Do NOT book with Blaze Moving LLC I scheduled a service with this company in May, after a recommendation from a friend. And after seeing SEVERAL negative reviews, I contacted the owner and told him why I was no longer interested and tried to handle the return of my deposit (which was NOT mentioned that it was non refundable), he then told me it was non refundable and to "Do what I Have to do"... So since he doesn't want to return the money and the return has now been reversed with cash app. I will make it my MISSION to run this companies reviews and reputation into the ground until I get my money! He rendered no service and sent a "contract" through Apple notes and somehow its binding when I didn't sign a thing, AND it was again NOT mentioned to be non refundable. read more

Just go with a different moving company and save yourself the headache. It never hurts to look around and compare prices but what's more important is the trust you have with the company that will be moving essentially your entire life in their trucks. NO STARS!!!! Horrible!! The owner Derek has the nerve to call you and ask for more money after you've made the required deposit. But states no hidden fees...WELL he does have them on the sly! RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and ruins your belongings and then wants to have an attitude with you --the 'customer' because you want your belongings protected!!! I WILL NEVER SUPPORT this business again, and I hope you read this review and the other reviews. I only read one because that was all I could see at the time on a different site. NOW, I WISH I would've seen and read all these reviews. I'm mad at myself because I usually do better research, but I needed to move desperately at the time long distance. I can confirm the weed, crazy and really unprofessional shouldn't matter the miles or even asking if it's ok! Just shouldn't do it especially in front of the customer, what you do on your personal time is not my business. What is my business, is how/what you do/treat my belongings. When I told him about the review I saw speaking about showing up high on customer's move day, he told a whole different side of the story (6.2.2023 move review).
