I enjoyed getting into the hype of Blank Street Coffee while visiting friends in the Boston area. Service was fast, but a little chaotic in terms of figuring out where to pick up the drink from the barista. The interior was designed clean and spacious...but there was limited space to stand, so in essence it didn't feel like a welcoming place to try niche coffee, it was more encouraging to grab your coffee and leave. I ordered a latte and it was a bit underwhelming. I hope to come back again and try different drinks on their menu. read more

Great place to grab a matcha drink around Harvard square. There are only a handful of tables that seem to be constantly occupied, so don't get your hopes up for studying here or being here a long time. I'd recommend ordering online, but they are quick and get orders out quickly even if you order in store. I tried the banana bread and carrot cake matcha drinks and have to say I'm not the biggest fan. The banana bread had a great initial taste, but toward the bottom of my drink, started having a more bitter aftertaste. The carrot cake really tastes like carrot cake in liquid form, but was honestly just too much carrot cake at once for me. I'll stick to the blueberry since that's my favorite :) read more

Blank Street is my all time favorite coffee/matcha spot in the Boston area, stoked to see that they opened a location in Harvard Square! I got their seasonal Rocky Road iced latte to try - it was so yummy. I love all of their creative flavors and it really is worth the wait. This store has a bit of seating but you can also take your drink and walk around the square on a nice sunny day. It is also right outside of the Harvard MBTA station. I love this place!!! read more

I've always loved their coffee, but the matcha here--wow. I only wish Black Street Coffee was closer to where I live! They use ceremonial-grade matcha, and you can tell from the vibrant color and smooth taste that it's high quality. We tried the Pistachio Latte and the Daydream Matcha, and both were absolutely delicious. The Daydream Matcha truly lived up to its name, with subtle notes of honey and cinnamon that made every sip a dream. Both drinks come with oat milk by default, which was a great touch. Beyond the drinks, the café itself is super cute, with quick service and a great location. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area! read more

I had high hopes for Blank Street given how popular it is, but unfortunately, the drinks didn't live up to the hype. I tried the salted pistachio matcha and the blueberry matcha, and both were surprisingly bland. I will say the flavors were very creative, but I could barely taste the matcha itself. It was pretty busy the day I went, so maybe they were just overwhelmed, but even then, I expected more from such a well-loved spot. Might give it another try in the future. read more

We stopped by because it was right outside the Harvard square train stop. My family got a cafe au lait, iced coffee, beautiful dream latte and everyone was happy. The baristas are very friendly and the drinks came out quickly. They have both matcha and latte versions of specialty drinks. The beautiful dream latte tasted like cinnamon toast crunch cereal to me and wasn't too sweet. I really regret not getting a signature drink to save on pastry calories so I went with a basic iced coffee which was good but you might as well try an interesting coffee you can't get anywhere else. They have several tables inside but it's a little small and wouldn't be the place to meet with a large group. read more

Ok I have to admit this latte was YUMMY. I got the seasonal Rocky Road latte and it was so good, but very sweet. It's ice cream inspired and boy did it taste like dessert. If I were rating this place just on the name it'd be a 1. Blank street sounds like they forgot to fill out a form. Or maybe they just meant it to be more like their coffee and food. That is, generic. I mean, if this place was in the middle of no where, like Framingham or something, it would be pretty good. But you've got Pavement next door, Tatte down the street and, if you were really desperate, Flour. This place is as expensive, if not more, and its stuff is just kind of...meh. The flavor is very light. I got the hazelnut latte and it was very white. There was a hint of hazelnut and not too much coffee flavor. It ended up being around 5.50 for the drink. They have set prices for the drinks hot, and then it's an extra 50-70 cents to make it iced along with an extra amount for flavoring. There are only 4 tables to sit at and it got pretty busy on a Friday afternoon. I wish the coffee had a strong flavor. Service was fast and the environment was loud with chatter. If you enjoy being judged and ignored by staff, this is the place for you. Quite honestly the rudest employees who have the most sour attitudes on any day any time. Doesn't help that the last time I tried to go (7:45am) doors were locked and lights were off (opening time was 7:30). The lines are never super long but it is a well known cafe. Food is mid and overpriced. Drinks are good. Inside is tiny so I would go here for take away but not to sit down. I keep going back hoping something will be different, no change in staff behavior yet. read more
