There is a lazy river, swimming areas (of course), lap lanes, diving boards, a fake tree with a rope swing, water slides, lounging areas and a concession area that sells food and drinks. Lots of lifeguards around. There are also pickle ball courts, a playground and bathrooms across the parking lot. The part I didn't love was the women's bathrooms/shower room. They were old and kind of gross. The lockers themselves are outside the bathrooms and are on the small size- bring your own lock! Also there is no outside food or drinks allowed. (Nobody hassled me about my water bottle for class, but technically the center was mostly closed at that point.) I think this would be really fun for families.

I went several times with a twelve year old and a fifteen year old and we all had so much fun. It fills up quickly on nice days so don't wait until you feel it's prime time to go to the pool, you will not get the best seats in the house and the place kind of crowds up quickly. From the pool to the swinging rope to the little snack bar, you will have a great time and won't be disappointed I'm sure. Oh, and can you say Doggie Dive In?? Don't forget to bring your four legged friend the day/weekend after labor day. Our pups always have a fantastic time!

The thing I love the the splash pads they have, they weren't on while I was there but I look forward to warmer days to enjoy those. They also have a basketball court and a nice walking path to enjoy. My only reason why I didn't give this park 5 stars was because the bathrooms and water fountains were closed. I understand that a lot of parks have schedules for when they turn on water at parks but it is something on nice days that would be Convenient to be able to use a bathroom and not end my park visit early. The splash pad area had some great shaded areas, but I do wish there was more. They have a dump bucket and some small little water fall type things. All areas except for the slides are handicap accessible. The playground itself is always a great time. My kids tend to be daredevils so they love the rope area.

When we got there, they had remodeled the toddler playground, and now there are just two 5-12 year playgrounds. As a mom of two little ones, I feel like there are almost no playgrounds in the entire metropolitan area that are good for toddlers. It feels like every park has been remodeled to include these crazy big climbing structures, which are so fun for big kids but make it so that I can't take my little ones there. Just because a park has a toddler sized structure doesn't mean it's a toddler-friendly playground. It's about what else is there; what a toddler is able to get themselves into, and how hard it is for parents to supervise and follow their toddlers (especially if parents have more than one kid to supervise). If there's a playground where a toddler can just go up some steps and all of a sudden they're 20 feet in the air... that's NOT a toddler-friendly playground. If you work for the city and you're reading this: Please build some toddler-friendly playgrounds!! Very disappointed with this Des Peres park remodel.

I am unsure what this summer will bring but pre Covid, day care centers would have the pool filled with children mid week from the time it is open until close to the end of their school day (3-4ish), so if crowds are a concern it may be best to call and see if there is a large group attending as I assume they're required to make it known they are attending. The playground has two side-by-side sections for preschool and elementary aged kids, and there are benches surrounding the playground (including one that is covered to keep you out of the sun). There is also a community center. I didn't go inside but there was a line of day camp kids heading back from the playground (?) toward the front door.
