We we're greeted by the beautiful hostess right away and this place was gaining customers by the second so I was happy there was no wait. Our amazing server came right away, and we ordered drinks. The drink menu didn't have much of a variety but the food menu made it for it. I had wine and my wife had a baybreeze (I believe that's the name). We order the Oysters Supreme and it was so dang good. My wife loves oysters and I am a newbie when it comes to eating them ( this was my second time in my life) and I was blown away! It was sooooo good. Then we shared an entree, called the Shuckin' Flounder. Talk about delicious!!! My favorite was the bread pudding. We took it to go and I loved that there was a note with bread pudding to give you instructions on heating annnnnddd to brag on how good it is. It did not disappoint!!! It was just as amazing at home as it was if it would have eaten it at the restaurant. I was skeptical because of this place because of the choice in seating (once again we come from restaurants and service) and there was a fan behind me but I must say, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The menu is a bit pricey but it's oysters and seafood! We will absolutely be back! Thank you all for such a great evening!

I ate plenty of hibachi, and this one is probably one of the worst ones I ever had. The rice was weak in flavor and seasoning, it was just topped with soy sauce, and that was it. I was so disappointed.. we had the following: - Shrimp Meal - includes fried rice, mixed veggies, and a choice of sauce (I chose HERO, which was like a spicy mayo), and you can also choose another meat, but I chose shrimp. This plate was so weak in flavor, I was so sad, I was looking forward to something so delicious, but it failed me - Crawfish Wrap - which is wrapped up "meal", their fried rice, mixed veggies and meat (in which in chose crawfish).. the insides already started weak, and wrapping it just makes it worst.. I would probably not eat here again..

Perfect! I basically went eenie, meenie , miney , mo and picked Chef Gregory's Food Truck. The "Kick Ass Shrimp" sandwich caught my eye, although at $12.00 with no side item; it seemed kind of pricey. But, what the heck ... if it was good, it would be money well spent - right? Well, yes and no. The six shrimp were cooked very nicely, although I had to remove them from the sandwich in order to not eat the tails. It was the bottom bread swimming in grease and loads of garlic that was so disappointing. You could literally wring out the bread; instead, I just didn't eat it. For six shrimp and a top layer of bread, it was not worth $12.00. I bought a Diet Coke and that brought the total to $14.50. Sorry, Chef Gregory, but a food truck is not fine dining.

(From October, 2025)…read more Taco Tuesday in early October in Lafayette means yelping around which brings me to this truck. Right off of the Ambassador Caffery Parkway, it used to be called the El Taqueria Louisiana Dollar #2 or something like that. I guess it's now renamed as El Cazador. Inflation unfortunately brings the pricing up pretty high which is $3.50 per taco. I used to read that it was 4 tacos for $5 back before COVID effed everything up. I had reservations about if I wanted to order here but the smells had me hooked so I did 5 tacos mix of barbacoa, cabeza, carnitas x2, and asada. The lady in the truck was super sweet and the food got to me quickly. Upon unwrapping and eating everything in the hotel room, I like how everything was packaged and they threw in grilled onions, and a serrano pepper for spice. The tacos tasted good; juicy meats with onions/cilantro accompanying it. While I'm not thrilled about the price charged, I can't complain too much as the taste is there. Cash only FYI. Maybe there is somewhat of a decent taco game in Louisiana!

This place deserves far more attention than it gets and easily outstrips any other BBQ restaurant…read morein Lafayette. Trust me, this hidden gem is the best in local barbecue. First, let's talk the food. As a native Texan, I have a certain taste for real BBQ. And here in Lafayette, this is as close to the genuine article as you can find. The brisket is magnificent and very generous helpings of sides are always available! Staff is always friendly and has been very kind. They are always anxious to strike up a conversation and I highly recommend doing so! Price is also right for the portions they give. And they give very generous portions. Ambiance and environment is another plus about this place. The place feels like an authentic Texas or Carolina-style barbecue joint, complete with animal skins and hides, farm tools, and branding irons for decor. A roaring fireplace is in the room, albeit here in the heart of southern Louisiana, it will probably never be used. A tv is available for those anxious for entertainment with their meal. My only complaint about this place are the hours. Sadly, it is only open during a very specific time slot and that is at lunch time, Mondays thru Fridays, for about two hours or so. But all the other facets more than make up for this! If you're in the mood for quality barbecue in Lafayette, drop by this very awesome place for the genuine article!

Unfortunately they are only open for lunch, with a very tight window to eat. They were sold out of a couple things when we arrived. The ambiance fits the style; very rustic, with plenty of neat things (tools, etc) hanging on the walls to look at. Being from out-of-town, I typically dine at more Cajun and local-style cuisines while visiting, but this was a good change of pace. I'm from an area where there are a lot of BBQ joints, i think it was par for the course; but certainly a bright spot in the area. Enjoyed it, and worth the visit again!
