DO NOT HIRE! We…read morerecently hired Mr Moses to install a wood stove. He quoted us $1400 for the installation including an additional worker that he was supposed to bring with him. He came by himself without any of the proper tools. I supplied him with ladders and tools throughout the two day period. He charged us $700 the first day for mounting two heat shields to the wall using combustible material to the wall (both of them completely unnecessary and at our expense). He mounted a heat shield to the floor on 2x3 boards (combustible) saying that the air space was necessary to meet code. It turns out that a space is not needed and using combustible wood to mount is also not correct. That was all that Mr Moses finished on the first day. He returned the second day to supposedly to finish the work. My wife and I checked codes all night because we were beginning to realize that despite Mr Moses assuring us he knew what he was doing, he knew nothing about fire code or stove installation. Again, he came alone without the correct tools, ladders, and supplies. He began breaking my composite siding shingles with a reciprocating saw. I had to tell him that was not going to work and provided him with a diamond Dremel cutter. Then we had to have him redo the floor heat shield because it was unnecessarily raised and posed a tripping hazard. Halfway through the second day, we realized that we had to get rid of Mr Moses before he did further damage to our house. Although the job wasn't even close to done and none of it was done correctly, he wanted the balance of the money for the job that night "to pay some [of his] bills". We finally got him out of our house only by paying him $400 and telling him we couldn't get the rest of the parts. Finally, and most importantly, Mr Moses did not connect the inside insulated pipe to the insulated connector through the wall thimble. Had we started a fire in the stove, there is virtually no doubt that our family and home would have suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning and a fire as it would have vented all heat and smoke directly into the walls of our house. Mr Moses was only at our house for 4.5 hours the first day and about 5.5 hours the second day. This time was not all spent working either. Virtually everything he did was wrong or not necessary as determined by the new certified installers that we had to hire to redo Mr Moses ' work.

Very unprofessional with payment also. Look elsewhere.

As questions arose, instead of communicating with us to discuss potential issues, he did whatever was cheap, quick, and easy for him, regardless of how it looked or if it was even functional. He spent his time screaming, berating, and using a Spanish language app on his phone to communicate with people he hired. Examples: 1. He installed three internal barn doors that were four inches too small and did so incorrectly, with missing and misplaced hardware. This caused the doors to literally fall on top of us. He refused to repair and replace the doors. 2. He installed inconsistent trim throughout the house, all different wood types, finishes and colors from different manufacturers, none of which we approved. He then used mismatched wood filler. Wood pieces were chipped and damaged throughout. He refused to repair and replace the trim. 3. He brought a professional painter to the house with him to provide an estimate and then we never saw the painter again. Instead, he had non-professionals do the painting and it looked horrible. We paid Mark Dallas half of the final payment in good faith that he would fix the faulty work for which he admitted responsibility. Instead of doing the work, he blatantly ignored us for months. His refusal to finish the job, especially after we paid him money that he had not yet earned, speaks volumes about his lack of professionalism. His exceptionally poor work is going to cost us thousands more to correct. He requested 20% downpayment via 'cash app' or Venmo, which we provided to secure his commitment. He then blew the first two beautiful days, neither showing nor communicating to reset expectations. Eventually texted, "don't worry, I'll get it done." The third day he burns the entire morning buying supplies, and demands additional 25% Venmo to purchase. Arrives after noon, and leaves at 4pm, demanding half the job's payment in cash. After I provide payment, he says he'll be onsite at 8am. The forth day, Nick and his 'crew,' which consist of his female partner and brother don't show up until after 11am. They are a complete wreck, spilling a 5gal bucket of paint water in my house, through a whirlwind of disorganized chaos. The partner throws a tantrum, drives off the property to go home, only to return minutes later and proceed to sleep in the vehicle for the next two hours. At the end of another partial day of poor quality painting, not one single side of the house is done. The job is not even 25% finished, and I've paid this guy over $6k via Venmo. There's one last gorgeous day before winter is coming on the sixth day. Nick assures me he's fast, will get it done, and will be back at 8am. On the fifth day, Nick doesn't show, doesn't answer texts or calls. I'm left responsible for all the mess he's left, and equipment laying all over my lawn and throughout my basement. It took two truck runs for me to return his property, escorted by Cairo PD. Nick never answered the door, pulled his equipment inside while nobody was around, and has still yet to reply to any messages. There are police reports, I have witnesses willing to testify, and records of all the above. My advice is to not engage with this wrecking ball of a 'business.'
