APPLE FRESHNESS ONLY - 2 stars This was in Sept/October 2018. I figured they would be freshest right from the orchard and I only went to buy apples for both pies and eating. I could not use my apple peeler as the apples were mushy, the peeler pushed right through the core. Apples were old (mushy) but not rotten. While they still made a decent pie they were not good for eating, lacking in crispness. And I did get a variety of apples in order to make a good pie. Won't be getting my apples here again. read more

We had such a wonderful time. But I must say Josh Dominek was the most helpful employee. He had the best customer service. Thank you Josh for giving my family a great experience!!! read more

I love going here! My family and I go here every year to do The Haunted Hayride and Zombie Paintball, this year, however, we go to go into Spookyland. I did not expect to see the actors in there, quite a surprise! I love interacting with the actors, they play their parts very well, come here if you want to have fun!!! read more

We called ahead and told them we had a party of 50 coming and they woud be coming at different times , what should we do? I understand that they don't take reservations, so she told us to get there early to save tables.which we did The servers were rude at best, no one checked to see if we needed anything. they must of forgotten they work for tips. I was a server before,If you can't handle busy and ppl , maybe this isn't where you should be. They kept trying to take our tables from us,and chairs. when I asked for some of the tables back, the very rude gm told me that on the weekend there is a 2 1/2 hour wait and there were only 3 ppl at one time in our section so he wouldn't do it. This is a lie. My family alone is 8. I cleaned off a table and took it so we could sit down. No on prebussed, we wiped our own table down. I won't recommend this place to anyone and none of us will be back. 50 was just part of the family read more

Went here for zombie paint balling. We had private reservations which was in excess of 300.00 for less than a 20 minute ride. Zombies just stay in place, even my 7 year old thought it would be something more. Our ride guide was really nice, but other than that I was really disappointed. Covid precautions were not existent. Bathrooms were filthy with urine overflowing. I hate leaving bad reviews but many other places have done much better given the unfortunate circumstances we are living in. read more

I've been taking my family here for many years, but it has gotten too big and over-crowded. Prices are high, wait times are impossible. We waited in line for 2 1/2 hours just to board a sub-standard hay ride. The Haunted Barn is so slow & poorly run that I never got to enter, wasting the $$ I paid for the ticket. They've gotten too greedy and ruined what used to be a fun experience! read more

As far as their haunted attractions go--DO NOT PAY FOR VIP ACCESS!! And DO NOT EXPECT MUCH OUT OF ZOMBIE PAINTBALL!!! My boyfriend and I were scheduled to get in line for Zombie Paintball at 9 pm last night (10-22-21). We've heard about the horrible lines in the past for this place, so we thought we were playing it smart by paying a lot more for VIP access in order to lessen the wait time. Paying extra did absolutely nothing. We waited in line for TWO HOURS for zombie paintball. By the time we got on the cart to shoot zombies? It was 11 pm. We didn't even have enough time to go to the haunted barn or even do our hayride. All of which we had paid for with that VIP access. The 2 hour wait time is ridiculous. And it made the whole experience terrible. The zombie paintball itself was maybe 10-15 minutes long. And it was not all it was made out to be. I would never recommend this to anyone because Blake's made this experience awful. The only upside was that I got to talk to my boyfriend while waiting in line for two hours. WE EVEN SAW SOME GENERAL ADMISSION PEOPLE SHOW UP LAST MINUTE AND GET ON THE ZOMBIE TRUCKS LONG BEFORE WE DID. Overall, it was a waste of money and a terrible experience. I'll never be back. Don't waste your money or your time! read more

Went there two weeks ago and the donuts and apple cider wasn't the best. Was it because they weren't fresh? I don't know, but kind of tasted like store bought cider and donuts. I was disappointed. read more

I will never go back to his place! So, we took our little Chihuahua there and at the parking lot that had a lot bigger than DTE music center, they welcomed us. So, we walked all that way in the dirt in the dust and then as we went in they told us we couldn't come in and the dogs weren't welcome ‍...which is it? It was so hectic and chaotic and dirty I would rather buy apples from the grocery store. No where to sit either. No real rest rooms read more

Great pumpkin pie and apple ciders had great time and day went to both locations bought for all my family read more

Blake's is over rated and waaay to expensive for our small family to go to. It's unfortunate that these types of places rip you off blind on pumpkins, cider and doughnuts. Plus they charge you for every detail of the orchard. We go elsewhere and Thank God there are other places nearby that I can take my family to without breaking the bank. As far as Christmas trees. They LITERALLY CHARGE YOU MORE TO CUT YOUR OWN TREE RATHER THAN PICK AMONG THAT ARE ALREADY CUT. So we do all he hard work and get screwed paying for it. Never again BLAKES!! TOU GUYS ARE WAY OFF and so many idiots making you richer read more

Zombie Paintball - what else can I say?? My big kid grabs some friends every year and we head out to Blake's for some zombie hunting. There are haunted attractions, concessions, cider mill favorites, a tent, DJ, bonfire - but the main event......Taking a hayride out to shoot some zombies!! Order tickets online in advance to avoid the lines. If you are there for a while, the outdoor café has great options, Italian sausage, hot dogs, hot and cold cider - the best part - homegrown sweet corn as a side for any combo!! read more

Big Apple location - not the main one on Armada Center that some of these reviews are about .... Haunted barn was pretty lame. Likely 10 "monsters" in the entire thing. Friends did the zombie paintball, they were given little amo and though paid for tickets you're encouraged to purchase additional paintballs and the line was ridiculous. Over 2 hours for them to do that. Haunted hayride line moved quickly but was underwhelming. You can tell it's the end of the season and workers (monsters) are bored .... but really guys it's Saturday on Halloween weekend, get it together. Our narrator, Sam, on the hayride choose to argue me about my inquiry on when they stopped doing the headless horseman bit. She said it was just two people in a costume. I advised her that was not correct, because 11-12 years ago when I worked here they brought in the horse trailer every night. She still got snippy with me. I had contacted Blake's customer service via email and social media nearly a month ago too trying to get info because at that time their website didn't have the inforamtaion I was looking for. They ignored my email, via social media kept assuming what I wanted and not listening to my inquiry and I finally called the front desk and talked to a nice woman who answered questions for me. Such a hassle! L Perks - my cider and doughnut were exactly what I was craving (sorry, back home they just don't make them like this) and the lines moved quickly. Parking attendants were super sweet, loved them! Drove from the St. Louis area that morning and was really hoping for a spook-tacular time. Not so much, but hey that's what happens here these days. read more

Come here every year, even as an adult with my friends with no kids. We still all love to make a day out of it, walk around, feed the animals, pick apples, have lunch, and get the beer tasting trios read more

If you want a haunted hayride that is good for kids, choose this one. Except for the fact that its very expensive, TOO expensive. We were very excited for this and it turned out to be not good at all. I don't recommend. read more

Disorganized. Oversold. Disappointing disaster. Don't do it. Blake's does not properly manage their space or events. Their Halloween event was an absolute mob scene with sad kids all over the ground. Take a hard pass on Blake's and visit another one of Michigan's fabulous orchards. read more

If your coming here at night for the haunted attractions don't waste your time or your money. Spent $20 a person for zombie paintball, waited almost 2 hours and the whole thing barely lasted 20 minutes. The actors don't even move or act like zombies, they drive up the tractor to stations, where the "zombie" is. Majority of the actors just stand there, while everyone shoots marble sized paintballs at them. You can't even tell if you're hitting them because everyone on the ride is shooting at the same target. I thought there would be be at least multiple actors walking around and interacting. Ultimately I expected a lot more from this but it was a disappointment. Maybe good for young kids but teens and adults don't bother. read more

Went to Blake's for the first time with all of my family last night. Very disappointed. It was such a let down. I understand weekends get busy, but we stood in the ticket line for a half hour and then went over to wait in the zombie paintball line for two hours. We were so excited when it was finally our turn for the paint ball ride, and it literally took 15 mins with breaking in between. It was such a waste of money and time. The long lines were ridiculous, couldn't do the haunted hayride after because of that line being just as long, and Blake's closing. You do not get any bang for your buck. Everything was so extremely expensive especially when you have a family. Would not recommend. Especially with driving an hour to get there. Don't waste your time. read more

Looooooove this place. Have been coming here ever since I was a little girl. Even after moving out of state, whenever I visit back home during the fall, my family and I come to visit. Donuts and cider was on point as always, customer service was amazing. The only slightly disappointing thing was the apples, perhaps it was a bad season. All in all it was amazing and next time I'm back in Michigan I will definitely be stopping by! read more

Blake's Big Apple - Fun with the pumpkins - Fruits & Veggies Near Me - Armada, Michigan

Bought tickets for zombie paintball & spooky land. Arrived a couple hours early, and was told at ticket pick up that we were not allowed to get in line for paintball until our ticket time. I was told no walk-in tickets were being sold either it was all online reservation pre-sale only and it was sold out. We went to spooky land which was eh. The corn maze is lame, looks like it hasn't been regrown in probably 10 years. You could see over and through it. The so called movies that were supposed to be playing was a screen off to the side with porta John's in front of it and you could barely see or hear the movie. The 3d house was cool but we had to go back to the front to get the 3d glasses which was a little annoying. Several of the pedal tractors were broken. On to Paintball which was the biggest disappointment of the night....We Waited in line for 3 hours! Absolutely ridiculous! There was no direction or indication the wait would be that long. And I had 2 -7 year olds that didn't get on the tractor until 11:30pm when our reservation time was for 8:30. I will Never go there again and I don't recommend it! This wasn't an off night, this was mismanagement and overselling! Be honest with people, tell them that it's 1st come 1st served and presold times don't mean anything! Tell them it will take a minimum of 2 -3 hours and you need to designate one person to stand in line all night, I would at least respect that. read more

Love Blake's. Especially when it's not too crowded. It's a madhouse on the weekends. Worth the trip because of the fun. Don't expect cheap apples. It's about the fun and experience. Their cider is the best as is mulling spices. Fam loves the donuts. They smell great. I always get a caramel apple. Fresh apple. Thick homemade caramel. read more

Blake's Big Apple - Fruits & Veggies Near Me - Armada, Michigan

Overpriced produce, even when you pick it yourself. $1.50/pound of u-pick apples. $1.80/pound already picked. You could get better prices from the grocery store. $8.60 per gallon of Cider. We bought a 8 inch apple pie for $15, which hardly had any apple in it, but was filled with syrup. Truly a disgrace for a place that claims to be an apple specialty store. At the orchard, those rows of apple trees marked as "not yet ripe" actually had the best looking ripe apples, whereas the rows of trees where you were allowed to pick were picked over, or had mediocre fruit. Wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Just got home from my second visit this weekend. Eating a honey crisp apple. It's melting in my mouth. The cider tastes awesome this year too. The crops are very good this year also. They always have unique varieties of apples. Yesterday we bought some pecan pumpkin butter and other jams/butters. They have a great variety. read more

Wow...Really? i honestly don't like this at all. First. the monsters were very old and not working properly. Some of them make weird noises like ERGGGGGGGGGGGGGG to every monster. i don't know why they can just change it. but still replace it to make it look better and creepier. second. the witch is old that it can't even move. the witch has some noises that are very uncomfortable to me. the motor are old and it can't even move well. lastly. the horses...OH MY GOD! they are filthy. the employees who take cares of the horses are bad. the smell is so bad i can even TASTE IT! they sometimes clean the poop and sometimes they're not. Don't even think about taking you and your kids here. i know it's fun and all but just don't. it is so bad i don't even want to go there next year...once again just don't! read more

Thank you Blake's for supporting "Forgotten Harvest" by caring for apple trees on your site in which the apples get picked and provided to food banks throughout Wayne, Macomb, and Oakland counties! My wife and I had a truly fantastic time picking apples this last Saturday as volunteers for the "Forgotten Harvest Apple picking event". Most importantly, I absolutely love your apple cider! It is the best I have ever tasted. I am currently 63 years of age and have been drinking your cider since I was in my teens. When fall comes around each year, I think of two things; the beautiful fall colors and Blake's apple cider. read more

I was checking out with a boatload of overpriced goods. Wanted some donuts to go with the cider. Noticed that the case filled with donuts had some house flies buzzing in the case. Nicely asked the clerk if there were other donuts available ( without fly poop). Immediately got an attitude. " Nothing we can do about the flies". Rang up my order like I was truly bothering her. Won't be back. read more

Went here last night to do the zombie paintball hayride. If I were you I find somewhere else to go. Starts with the parking which is by far too small for the crowds. The lines here are extremely long and extremely slow moving. Prices for the attractions IMO are outrageous for what you are getting. My review of zombie paintball is $20plus dollars of a night time shoot the duck experience. They claim that it will last about 10-15 minutes which may be true but only because of the 2 planned $10 refill stops that are made so Blakes can gouge more money from there patrons. To me this place is terrible on every level and I suggest you look elsewhere. As far as scare factor of the zombies I place it at zero which can be good or bad depending on your personal situation. read more

Had high expectations. The apple cider donuts were good, special Halloween maze was good; but not worth $8.95 per person/child. Wish it was better and lots of bees as well. Bought some apples to take home and they were just so-so. All in all it was a long drive for a disappointing family day, we had higher expectations. read more

Came to Blake's to the Zombie Paintball Safari. Entered the line at 7:20 pm. We have moved less than a quarter of the way to the ride. We expected to have a wait, but this is truly ridiculous. Had I have not spent $20 in gas and another $30 for this, I would've already headed home. My suggestion would be checkpoints along the ride to keep things moving at a respectable pace. I have never waited this long at an amusement park during peak hours for premier rides. read more

Haunted Hayride and Barn are tons of fun! We made a group reservation and got to go to the front of the line. They did a nice job but weren't over the top. Not recommended for young children as somebody brought their 10 year old and the kid was crying the entire time. read more

Love Blake's for getting together with friends or just replenishing my own wine bar!!! Great staff and service is phenomenal!!!

This place is great for families with young kids. There's lots to do compared to other orchards. However I have tried the zombie paintball with a few of my friends and it was lame. Not worth the money in my opinion. They give you only enough ammo for the first round then you have to go and keep buying more. So if you do this, CONSERVE YOUR AMMO. It was not what I was expecting for the older people. Not scary at all. However the cider here is delicious and the prices for food are the average overpriced food that you would find at these places but hey I guess they have to make money too. read more

Zombie paint ball was so disappointing. We stood in line for two hours to shoot zombies who were practically nonexistent. Everyone ran out of paint balls half way through where they conveniently offer you more to buy at $10 a pop. Not worth the $20. Our wagon host thought he was a dictator with zero customer service. Don't waste your money!!! read more

This is by far my favorite orchard. I don't feel quite as nickeled and dimed here. To the contrary, I feel like it's a lot of fun on the farm for a reasonable price. I love the variety of fruits and vegetables, not just apples, that they offer here. My husband and I don't live close so we like to time it right in September to come pick apples, tomatoes, peppers, berries, and pumpkins. It's a lonnnnnng, fun day of picking! Their donuts are fresh and delicious as is the cider, the staff is very friendly, and they have a great kids play area. I can imagine it gets pretty crowded on the weekends, but if you have a chance to come during the week you'll be in for a treat! read more
