I have been checking out all of the farmers' markets in the SE Michigan area this summer, and while Eastern Market will always be the best, I am thoroughly impressed with the Rochester Farmers' Market! It definitely exceeded my expectations & I'm kicking myself for only now realizing what a gem I have in my own backyard! There are an impressive number of vendors every single time you go. I wasn't expecting nearly this many, and I like that it's almost an equal blend of regular vendors & rotating vendors! The farmers' market is located in just a standard size parking lot, but it still contains enough room for a vast selection of vendors, and probably most importantly several produce vendors. Competition is healthy, especially when it comes to veggies & fruits I believe, because it doesn't allow any one vendor to create a monopoly over it. My pro tip is to always do a lap throughout the entire market first to scope out what vendors are here and selling what produce at what prices before you start buying! Additionally, a big pro tip especially for Rochester Farmers' Market is to get there EARLY! This market closes at 1 pm, which I feel like is uniquely early, and that basically means that things sell out FAST, especially from one-off vendors. If you get there after 11, you can almost guarantee that some of the things you might've wanted to pick up will be sold out or slim pickings. Sometimes it's hard for me to wake up because all I want to do is sleep in at the start of the weekend, but it's worth it for this market! What makes the Rochester Farmers' Market extra special is that they allow dogs & they always have live music! It really puts you in a great mood & sets the tone for a wonderful Saturday morning outside, supporting hard working people & small businesses, interacting with just the loveliest vendors around, and getting to dog watch all the cute dogs that come through. Vibes all around :)

My physical therapist recommended so I decided after My appointment to check it out. When I googled this Family Farm of 5 Generations Growing & Selling At their Family Market, named Schramm's, I noticed that they were not on Yelp. Therefore 1st Add to assist other Yelpers or Shoppers! What a pleasant experience chatting with the staff and walking around the plentiful areas of fruits and vegetables and other items they sell locally. I had a great visit on Tuesday the 29th of July to shop for Corn and Pickling Cukes to make Garlic & Dill Pickles. I talked to Cheryl and Tonya working throughout the market inside the barn area with produce such as fruits and vegetables that have been harvested in June and July and will continue till ?? based on selling. I Look forward to shopping here in the Fall months for pumpkins and much more to buy and eat plus items to decorate My Home In Macomb. I have posted MANY Photos to Help promote this local and family business of hardworking members throughout their celebration of 117 years ! Enjoy the photos I've attached of the newest family generation and the past family members with husband and wife farmers dating back to 1908. They have certainly shown their dedication and hardworking lives as a tight family of farmers from sunrise to sunset in the seasonal months. Seasonal Hours are posted and a map that I also posted when Adding this nearby local Farm Market. Open July - October from 10am - 6pm. There are several different "sheds" which are basically huge barns that house tons of different local vendors--everything from produce, plants, ready made food, apparel, sweet treats, handmade crafts, coffee and other drinks, etc. We had a blast looking around each of the sheds and saw lots of interesting items. We didn't end up buying anything, but I would love to go back again. The market is open on Saturdays year round, and even in the coldest January weather there were a lot of people there! They have extended hours in the summer months. One of the best parts of visiting the market was the ample free parking in their lots. We also had fun exploring the neighboring shops and restaurants! If you like a good farmers market, be sure to add Eastern Market to your list to check out.

I've been coming to the Farmers Market in Clinton Township for years, and honestly, I loved it back…read morewhen it had that small, country-store feel. It was cozy, personal, and worth the trip. But lately, they've been modernizing and expanding -- and unfortunately, the prices have been expanding right along with it. The perfect example is their store-made roast beef. Just this summer it was $6.99 a pound, and now it's jumped to $9.99 a pound -- a 42.9% increase. That roast beef was the one door-buster item that kept me coming back. I was in their store every other day, picking up two pounds at a time. But now that it's become a popular product, they seem to feel the need to gouge the customer. It's disheartening. They've always run on the higher side for pricing, but at least that roast beef balanced things out. With that gone, there's just no incentive left. Compare it to Cattleman's Market in Center Line, where New York strip steaks run about $7.99 a pound versus nearly $14 here. Lunch meat is also considerably cheaper at Cattleman's. It's disappointing to watch a place I once looked forward to visiting turn into just another overpriced stop. They can keep their roast beef -- I'll take my business elsewhere.
