I had a weird cowlick and fairly wavy hair. She always made me look amazing. Now that I'm getting up there in age, my hair is sadly thinned out and no longer long. However, my son just spent 3 years growing out his hair. No one had touched it. It was just a huge, heavy unkempt, unshaped mess. Now we all know that someone to touch our hair it has to be built on trust. I felt I had finally found my niche, I had came to Lidia I couple times to do cut, color, style. So at this moment I was a loyal client and would go to her in the future. Now some things slipped through the cracks while making my appointment. A couple months back I was ready to make a change and reach out a couple of time via phone and in person and the lack of communication failed. No biggie, I wanted to get my hair done here and nowhere else. Thought third time would be the charm so I stopped in person again and saw the owner Lidia. I mentioned that I was ready for a change and discussed what I wanted, I also asked for her colleague because even tho I had paid for a senior stylist her assistant at the time helped me ol half of the time. Again I did not say anything even after being hosed down during our first session. Decided to let it go. Well I indeed asked if she was available since I knew her as well and knew her prices were slightly different. However I was advised that they were actually the same. They did advise me they had someone knew with lower prices if I were interested. I was happy they were expanding but as I mentioned I was loyal to the person who already doing my hair. I had built a relationship and I was satisfied with the work being done. I requested to be booked with Lidia for my service. Now I know she's not there all the time so we can to coordinate a date where she was here on a weekend. I even requested a quote just so I would have an idea. Done! And received a confirmation. I had to reschedule and booked out for a month later. However the day before my services I received an email and saw a name I did not recognize. So I decided to text and confirm. I was advised that it was not with the owner but with a junior stylist because I had requested someone with lower prices. I was confused because I never asked, I was informed but because I didn't know her I was not comfortable moving forward with her. I then began receiving messages that if I didn't show then I would be charged, oh and the owner was not there so she wouldn't be the one doing my hair. I would however have the person (whom I don't know) do my hair because I "requested them". I tend to be clear, I don't know where the miscommunication came from. I've even received an original email that I was booked with the owner. I requested a call because I know I would never book with someone that I'm not comfortable and now have to be stuck in with. A lot of back and worth which wasn't leading anywhere. Neither of us felt that we were in the wrong, I was told I can book with the owner when she is in but at this moment I felt so uncomfortable and would be so awkward that I'd rather lose business with. I felt there was no accountability taken and I was convinced that I would be charged if I didn't show up with my appointment with someone I did not book.

My 12 year old was so happy!!!

I went to Caitlin to fix this, and it was a complicated situation with the sheer amount of hair I have and the damage that was done. She was an absolute trooper about it and killed it!! Needless to say I've been going to her ever since. It's easy to book with her because she's very responsive over text, the salon is always clean, and she uses the best products. I love how detail oriented she is with her formulas to ensure my hair stays healthy too. Highly recommend!

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience here. I went in trusting that my hair health would be…read moreprioritized, and unfortunately I left feeling like the exact opposite happened. My appointment took around 9 hours, and throughout the service I felt my hair was handled extremely aggressively. There were multiple times where my hair was pulled hard, including having my hair grabbed in a fist-like hold and yanked. When my foils were being removed, they were pulled out so aggressively that I could literally see pieces of my hair coming out and using a dry towel to wipe the bleach off (which I understand is needed) but the way she did it so roughly with zero consideration of my hair health and the fact that my hair was in foils for SO long was truly disappointing. This was especially upsetting after hearing so much about the importance of maintaining the health and integrity of my hair. There was also confusion around the service and pricing. I was initially told a full highlight was going to be $675 while I was sitting in the chair she told me that if I wanted a detailed full highlight it would be the price of two full highlights ? Something you definitely need to discuss with a client before you already have foils in, lucky I can afford to pay that bc I didn't want my hair half done. I was given a completely different price than discussed over the phone. I have very fine, thin hair and not a large amount of hair to begin with, so I did not understand why the service resulted in being charged roughly twice as much. The overall atmosphere also felt unprofessional to me. During my appointment, my stylist repeatedly stopped working on my hair to use her phone. At one point, I heard her yelling at her nanny rude things. Personal situations happen, but hearing that during such a long and expensive appointment made me uncomfortable defintley didn't feel like a luxury experience. The most upsetting part was the condition and appearance of my hair afterward. I went in with more length and left with what essentially feels like a bob because of how much hair/length I lost (I completely understand bleaching hair can have breakage etc but as a HAIRSTYLIST myself I watched her treat me hair so harshly in ways I would NEVER do to someone). On top of that, the tone was completely different from what I wanted -- my blonde came out noticeably yellow there were also negative comments made about my previous hairstylist, implying that she didn't know what she was doing with my hair. I found those comments unnecessary and rude, especially considering how unhappy I was with the final result of this appointment between the aggressive handling of my hair, the amount of hair I watched come out, the unexpected pricing, the repeated interruptions, the comments about my previous stylist, the 9-hour appointment, and leaving with much shorter and yellow-toned hair, I unfortunately cannot say I had a positive experience. For the amount of time and money I invested, I expected much better communication, professionalism, care, and results. I had photos taken of the back of my hair and I had so many bleeders and hotspots and was never told about .. so disappointing for the amount of money I paid. Never felt comfortable to reach out because of the way I heard her talk to people. Just hope I can give warning to anyone wanting to come here

I have been to Patty twice now and I don't think I'll ever let anyone touch my hair again! I am usually very picky and conservative when it comes to getting my hair cut but I decided recently that I needed a change. I asked Patty to suggest a style that was trending and she gave me a gorgeous cut with tons of layers which I am still getting compliments on. It feels amazing light but not too short for my liking (the length is what I am usually worried about). And it still looks awesome as it is growing out! I went back two weeks ago to have her brighten up my hair with highlights. They look super natural and the color was on point with the example I showed her. On top of the amazing job that Patty does, Blades has a super trendy vibe. Its right off of Santa Monica Boulevard and above all of liveliness of the bars. Patty is not only an artist with hair but an artist with a paint brush - the shop is decorated with her artwork which gives it a fun atmosphere. Patty and Robit are both super nice but also hilarious. Patty's sense of humor is like no one else's and makes waiting for your color to set entertaining. Prices are super reasonable compared to the other salon's I've tried in the area and there is a convenient parking lot off of Larrabee. I highly recommend Blades, even if you are not located in WeHo - totally worth the drive!! Definitely a WeHo gem. read more

However, my haircut was not great and this review reflects the terrible customer service I received after the appointment regarding the haircut. For the haircut, I asked for a trim. The stylist visually showed me she'd trim off, using her fingers to demonstrate. It was approximately an inch and I agreed to that. However, a significant amount was cut off instead. I was hesitant, but ultimately did not mention the issue while in the salon as I did not pay for styling, so I knew I'd probably need to style it at home to see the final product. After washing and drying it myself, I found some strands were longer than others, and the layers were heavy around my face. So, I called the salon and said, "Hi. I was in earlier this week, I got a haircut I'm not super satisfied with, would you be able to fix it?" The women responded, "What, like it's broken?" Her response felt dismissive, defensive, and rude. I was honestly shocked and caught off guard. So, I simply repeated, "I'm not satisfied with the haircut and would like it fixed." She proceed to say to list potential problems to clarify what I meant. Her tone was incredibly unwelcoming and defensive. At that point, I didn't feel comfortable moving forward with them to correct the cut and decided to go elsewhere. So, I hung up the call. It's a shame this happened, as everyone (front desk, stylist) was nice during my salon visit and I think a quick, minor adjustment could of completely resolved this issue. There was no need to be hostile in this situation.
