I've been an online customer of BladeHQ for many years. While they are still an above average retailer they are not what they used to be. For the first time this week an order I placed with this Utah retailer is shipping directly from some anonymous East Coast distributor. This completely negates any chance of BladeHQ following the request I made in the 'Notes' section of my order. I.e., people that collect high-end knives often request that the knife be inspected for blade centering or other defects before shipping. That obviously isn't going to happen if BladeHQ is merely accepting my money and forwarding the order to a distributor. Actually, it's been my experience lately that these notes are now being ignored, and knives with manufacturer's packaging seals intact and with obvious defects had to be sent back. They have also picked up the habit of sending emails claiming an order has shipped when the tracking details confirm that all they have done is printed a label at their facility. Further tracking shows that the order may not have actually shipped for quite a few more days. read more

Forced to deal with customer service on at least 6 occasions for a single item order, that when returned was accepted and noted as returned, but no refund issued until I reached out to find out where my refund was. I place an order and paid $35 extra for it to be shipped the next day. Next day comes and my order never made it home. I called customer service and explained my situation, i was told that my order would be shipped 5 days after my order was made. whats the point of paying extra if i wont get my order the next day if thats what i pay extra for. I explain this to customer service and demanded for the $35 i paid extra back, to my surprise i was told they could only credit me back $10. never buying from here again. dont bother paying extra for shipping when they make false promises. Don't except to get a deposit back on a gift item. Decided to buy a knife that was in stock.. then my the tike the order got through it wasn't. Tried to cancel order and they keep my supposed $5 deposit. This should only be done when pre-ordering a new knife, not to reserve my spot for a knife that is out of stock. I could care less about my spot in line.. I can wait for it whenever. Won't be buying from again. Never had this issue before, but don't steal my money when a knife is in stock then its all of a sudden out of stock. read more

I contacted Blade HQ for a repair on a knife I had. After a week, they contacted me and offered to fix it for a nominal fee. I shipped my knife too them, they kept it for close too two weeks and only when I called, I found out it was still sitting on someone's desk, never touched and never repaired. When I asked for the personal supposedly helping me, he was too busy to speak to me; I asked for an in-house manager which I never got and several days later I received my knife, never once getting that in-person conversation with any manager; only a Facebook message making up excuses for their employee. I opened up my package to find my knife didn't work but I was told it had a lifetime warranty on all repairs. I have now been trying to reach them back for close too a month and the Facebook Manager: Seth as well as the previous person I dealt with are all refusing to talk too me. They also refuse to warranty the knife they said they repaired. I have called the company to ask for another manager and have been either refused or the manager "I" have to go thru is out sick. Beware when dealing with this company. They are rude, making up excuses and do not stand behind their warranty on repairs as they claim! read more

Ordered 3 knives (2 as gifts). After 10 days of not receiving my order, I reached out to the company. Apparently, my order had been cancelled due to a fraud alert, but that did not stop them from charging my card. They neither called nor emailed me to inform me of the issue. While they did offer me a store credit, that only forces me to buy from them and place another order. Not without getting my refund first! My problem - please take your time & ship me a product that was not opened before i bought it & obviously used before you took my money & shipped it to me. 2 Boker knives, 1 of them with the seal broken & looks as though it was used as a counter demo, and both Boker blades that should not be shipped out with blades this dull. I will never spend my money on Blade HQ again - these manufacturers should be LIVID you deal with your customers like this. It makes me wonder if i should buy a Boker knife again. I ordered a Spyderco Manix 2 XL. Sent USPS and was returned to sender due to "incomplete address". Reached out to them and they stated that once they receive the package back that i will receive an option of refund or try to mail it back out. They received the package monday 8/17/20 and today 9/19/20 i reached out to them because i havent heard from them. Correy stated that they already processed the return without even reaching out to me. They took my money immediately and now its gonna take 3-5 days to get it back. No willingness to help. absolutely nothing. Customer service is absolutely trash. they wont accept phone calls and the only way to get help is by email or their chat option. ill never buy anything from here again. read more

Finally after more than 2 weeks I got a return email saying they can't help me. Large selection online, but don't be fooled. Half of the crap is actually out of stock, half of what's supposed to be in stock is actually sold through a partner they work with out of Virginia. I ordered online, needed it right away as I was leaving for a trip in a week. Two days passed with no confirmation email, no shipping email, so I called. They told me they cancelled it because their partner company didn't actually have it in stock. They never contacted me to let me know any of this, I had to figure it out on my own. They didn't make any consolation, no gesture of good faith like a coupon or credit for a future order. Just, welp, sorry bud, we don't have it. They couldn't care less about their customers and it shows. Spend the extra few bucks and order from someone who will actually have the product in stock. I ordered a knife Friday and due to the fact they had the gerber lmf at at 89 vs 119 price I emailed asking to cancel the order and please explain the difference between the knife for price difference and also that in photo on the cheep one I noticed small defect so I wanted to be sure I got the correct knife I was emailed with a response about the knife being free of scratches and just totally ignored the fact I said I wanted the order canceled and sent the knife anyways very unprofessional. I had to call my credit card company to get refund what a nightmare and when I told blade hq about getting my money back from credit card company they asked me to get that reversed and told me I would be blacklisted or blocked from my account with blade hq I've never in 25 years seen a business have such a bad customer service or company policy I spent hours trying to get usps to sent back to the sender and they told me I'd have to come out of pocket to have an package intercept if a business cared about their product enough they would have done so themselves I don't know what to think or say about this company at this moment except I'm disappointed and thought they were better then this. I was in SC, place the order to arrive at that house. Received an email from Blade HQ saying my order raised a flag and I would need to call customer service to verify my identity. Fine by me, no issue...except, good luck getting off hold when you call their customer service! Called 3 times, first two was on hold for 20 min with no answer, third time for 15 min. Their customer representative said yes but I have to put the APO address note section. I ordered 2 knives and place the APO address in the note section. About 4 days later, my wife informed me that the knife I order had arrived at our home address. This is my first, and will be my only, experience with this store. Online, I purchased a small knife, and what I got turned out to be utter garbage. No big deal, I'll just exchange it for something I know will be decent. I called their store and the person I talked to seemed annoyed at having to deal with me. I agreed to exchange a $29 knife for a $44 knife. I sent the knife back and was charged $50 instead. I went back to their website and they've raised the price of the knife and charged me the higher price, instead of the price at the time of the exchange. Shady and dishonest business practice. Bladehq is a big player in the knife business. They have a big selection, nice helpful website and many YouTube videos. My experience with them goes against the norm in that all the hype does not a good business make. Their customer service is the weak link. They ignore you. It takes forever to get your refund on a return. Their "email me when a product is back in stock" is a joke. On Spyderco sprint runs they never seem to have any for sale. Either don't have them or sold them to friends/collectors. Use their website and videos. Great knowledge. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

I have only had negative experiences with blade hq I have ordered a few knives from them and there is something always wrong with them. yes you can return them yes you get your money back but what is the point and what is the price you get for the amount of time you waste waiting for the items you purchased. also on top of everything they had a sale on the Norse hawk by cold steel for 6.99 mistake or not the order was put in I waited over a week just for them to cancel the order and then make me WAIT then when I call to find out what's going on they say "I can not help you I have no idea why that would happen". and let's all not forget the hacking they had and everyone who did business with them within the last 6 months potentially has had there identity stolen. This is what you get to look forward to when you deal with a company like them. so if I was any of you I'd definitely use any of the many much better and safer knife dealers. better quality and better service read more
