I was gifted a Volsteed Racoon knife for my birthday and as soon as I took it out of the box I spotted an issue with the knife not closing all the way. This should have been easy to spot in any quality checks before shipping to customers. We contacted Blade HQ and were told that this was a special edition and they didn't have anymore. We were instructed to contact the manufacturer about the issues. When we reached out to Volsteed they informed us that despite the fact that they advertise having a factory warranty they actually don't have a warranty repair service for the US and are not currently warranty repairs for anything in the US. Tried to reach out to Blade HQ about this warranty issue and were basically left hanging with no real answer or path forward. Terrible customer service by Blade HQ and Volsteed. Shame on both of them for selling a defective product, lying about a factory warranty, and lack of customer service. read more

I've been shopping at BladeHQ for YEARS. Since 2008 if my order history is to be believed. BHQ is straight up one of the best places to buy anything with a blade, especially if you care about quality steel, having a lot of options for scales, handle material, etc. and in general care about the specs of your knives. BHQ has a lot of exclusive models, and often has things on sale, so if you're a collector and you're looking for great prices, you can find some great deals there too. They also have a great service team. I've only ever needed to email them, and I always get a quick response from what appears to be a human (though that's harder to tell for sure these days) within hours of not minutes. This most recent time I was helped by DALLAS with a simple shipping issue, for example, and it was resolved in minutes. Can't recommend BladeHQ enough tbh. I like them so much I'm reluctant to buy brands that aren't offered there (it's one of the main reasons I haven't seriously considered a Midgard's Messer yet actually). read more

However after a week, noticed the order, although assigned Fed Ex tracking#, had not shipped. Instead of helping resolve the situation, Blade HQ provided false information to my bank, claiming the items were delivered to my home address (they were not). Blade HQ is fantastic! I have ordered over 50 knives from them and returned 3. They pay for shipping and send you a return shipping label! I only returned the knives because I didn't like them. I recently returned a knife to another online knife retailer, and I had to pay for return shipping (which to me is understandable). I think that makes Blade HQ a notch above the rest. Plus, they always have competitive prices and have even price matched for me when I found a better deal (with a coupon) from another retailer. On top of that, I've gotten several knives for free with their promo offers. I've yet to have a bad experience with them. I feel like the negative reviews here are weird. Either lack of communication on their end or stupidity. I made a qualifying purchase 30 minutes after the email was recieved. Beyond disappointed Blade HQ cannot meet the expectations advertised on their website. I purchased four knives as Christmas gifts on their website. I made sure to read their shipping info before doing so to ensure my package would arrive on time. In fact, Blade HQ had a calendar advertisement that marked when you needed to order by in order to get it before Christmas. I placed the order on the 17th and paid $36.00 extra for overnight shipping, just in case there were delays associated with the holiday. 5 business days later, 6 if you count the days they are open, and my package still hasn't even shipped. I now have no gift for four people I was to exchange gifts with for Christmas. What's more, I will now incur more costs associated with shipping as two of the knives will now have to be shipped to the intended individuals instead of given in person. My issue is that they specifically advertised order fulfillment speeds for the holiday that they couldn't honor. Had I known they couldn't do it, it would've been totally understandable and I would've made other arrangements. Based on other reviews, Blade HQ is really hit or miss with meeting expectations. I will not purchase from them again as it appears it is a gamble. I see the company responds to these reviews at times... There is no correcting what's already done and I don't want a fake apology or a BS explanation from some under paid employee who couldn't care less about the predicament I've been left in. Unless you intend to refund me the $36.00 spent for the expedited shipping costs that your company's shortcomings has rendered unnecessary, I'd recommend NOT telling me to contact your customer service. read more

OK, I ordered a Spyderco Paramilitary 3 with S30V steel, G10 plates and blacked out. I paid $171 for this to be delivered 2nd Day. I ordered the knife at 9AM Eastern Time. At 10AM Eastern Time they have this promotion on their website saying because of their anniversary they are giving stuff away. If you order X amount, you get this, Y amount, you get that, etc. I checked my order and it said processing, then I emailed and called them on March 25, 2020 asking since I just spent $171 dollars on a knife and I was recommended there by a return customer, will I be getting the swag with my order or separately? I got this on March 26, 2020 "Hi Steve, sorry about the delay. I looked into your order, and you did not receive any promotional items because they were not available yet. Our anniversary sale began at 10am MST, Tuesday morning, and your order was placed at 7:09am. While some of the promotional items have since run out, I might be able to send you a shirt if we have your size left." I was absolutely appalled. I just spent all this money and you people do this? WOW! I got the knife, did not like how it felt in my hand, and immediately got an RMA to send it back and did so. I was chatting with a "customer service rep" on the Facebook Messenger and have never heard back about anything from them once I got the RMA so I waited a week. Then... I checked my bank and I was never refunded! I once again went to Facebook Messenger and inquired about my refund. I got a canned response giving me their hours. Two days later I got the knife back with a Post It note saying the blade was "un-presentable" and had "blood" on it. I unwrapped the returned item in absolute disbelief! I opened this knife and literally returned it to the box. There was no blood on it, as you can see in the pictures below. I have emailed them, messaged them on Facebook, and have called their number over 20 times total. Nothing, not one response. What was on the blade? It was some kind of oil. How do I know this? I looked at the blade under a MICROSCOPE! Then i WIPED it off and it was lubricant. Whoever this clown is in their warehouse who, at a whim, decides what gets a refund and doesn't should be fired. Then, I chatted with some people online about BladeHQ only to find out that they do this all the time! They don't like issuing refunds so they return the items using the "un-presentable" line. I even emailed them back saying that a friend in law enforcement had the blade checked and there is NO sign of blood OR of Luminol on the blade or handle. So who made this BS call about "blood"? I have every message from their Facebook Messenger saved and will post that as well. They deceive customers constantly and then play like they're good to their client base. Absolute BS! Their rating on here of 2.5 stars is over rating them. I am posting this review on every site and every blade aficionado site. They are a total scam outfit who suckers newbies in with their review videos on YouTube. They have horrible service, do not contact their customers and they are unethical. The rare occasion where I have had an issue, and adjustment was made immediately. No fuss, no muss. Their prices are as good or better than anybody else on the web. Read it (only 90 seconds) for a full picture of Blade HQ online. I have bought from many online knife sellers, but Blade HQ consistently comes out on top when it comes to shipping, laser engraving and customer service quality and speed.....that would be YOU, Ms. Lisa Q! Blade HQ usually has the lowest price too. I am finding less and less reasons to purchase from any other vendor. My two recent purchases were a Kershaw Launch 13 before Christmas (present to myself) and a Wharncliffe version of a Boker Kalashnikov in edge retaining D2 Steel (No more AUS 8 for me, thank you). All my knives are automatic (FL CCW holder) and all my blade profiles are Wharncliffe, if possible. The made in USA Kershaw came laser engraved to perfection. The CPM 158 blade came "Stupid sharp", my highest rating. A knife so sharp, that you should never hand it to a stupid person. Not kidding. The anodizing was FLAWLESS Milspec Level 3 hard, the same as on the very best firearm components. Shipping was modestly delayed because of the holidays. I knew that before I ordered. Beg borrow or steal the funds to BUY this knife....only $150 with laser engraving(Big Dave's Knife Reward 954-220-xxxx), two day air optional shipping, and tax. HUGE bargain IMO. I've purchased several knives off blade hq. they are very consistent and customer service has been great so far. I've received a couple knives with quality control issues (probably not necessarily blade hq's fault) and they have been good with returns. I gave 4 stars because I didn't receive a confirmation email for one of my orders, the quality control issues for an expensive knife, the website is sometimes a little frustrating to navigate. All problems were fixed with contacting customer service. I would probably give a 4-4.5 rating. read more

Reached out to Blade HQ for help, they told me they couldn't do a return since it's used and told me to send it in to them with a 5-6 repair return turn-around time. Crazy, i've only had it for 3 weeks. When I asked the customer service guy on the phone what we could do to make it faster, he hung up on me and didn't call back - he had all my info pulled up so he could have called me back to help. Submitted a webform with the same request, no response. Sent it back to benchmade with a 2-3 week turnaround time since Blade HQ had such trash service. A two and a half hour trip each way for us but definitely worth it. The lady at the counter was friendly but professional. She let us take all the time we wanted to look and answered any questions we had. We learned a lot and had a great time. My cousin even got to add his name to their customer board on the wall. Another lady came out from the warehouse to demonstrate a knife sharpener for us. That's the purchase we made. I had a recent experience with Blade HQ. I purchased three knives on the same order, all Bestechman budget knives in the $50 apiece price range. I liked the website and the ease of placing an online order. Selection was great and pricing seemed right inline with other large knife dealers. Would have rated the transaction five stars except the shipping was very slow. I placed my order and my card was charged the same day but the knives did not ship for seven days. In my experience that is really slow. 12 days from order to delivery. I will say that customer service was fast to respond to my inquiries via e-mail and was friendly but 12 day delivery is poor indeed. I have purchased from overseas and received the order in about that same timeframe so state to state should be quicker. On two recent knife buys from another out of state dealer order to knife in hand took 3 and 5 days which I thought was very good. I wish I would have read reviews before I ordered from Blade HQ, I would have taken my business elsewhere. If you are on a time frame shop elsewhere. read more

I'm not sure why Blade HQ is getting so many negative reviews. I've ordered several knives from them over the past year and have had no problem. A couple weeks ago, I did order a higher end Steel Will fixed blade knife. I noticed that several days passed without receiving an email with a tracking number. I emailed customer service and was told that the knife was being shipped from their Virginia warehouse. Because of this coronavirus stuff, they were running behind due to the warehouse being run by a skeleton crew. For me, that's a perfectly reasonable excuse. Without having to ask, the customer service representative (Brittany) refunded the amount for the expedited shipping I paid for. I received the knife about five days later. Great job! read more
