These guys were handling the snow and landscaping for our cottage homes in Crown Point. During several snowfalls they didn't arrive until very late in the day after many (older folks) already shoveled their own driveway by hand. After that they had to nerve to charge us more. Hired to do complete landscaping on new construction. The grass (seed) turned out atrocious; nothing but weeds and quack grass; extremely poor quality job. The company I use to service my yard actually called me to discuss how bad it was. Watered plenty and fertilized professionally. Their follow up advice was to pay for more services. I paid for a lawn I should have gotten a LAWN. The other one star reviews are on point. Before anyone hires Blade Cutters to do a lawn come look at mine - 905 Kildare Dr in Crown Point. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! IF I COULD DO IT OVER I WOULD HAVE GONE ELSEWHERE!!!!! This is my experience.....We got our front and backyard (full sod and landscaping) along with hardscape- a retaining wall for our front yard in late 2014 by Blade Cutters. Come March 2019 our retaining rock wall was collapsing in two spots. The crew came out to look at it and said that it was built with inadequate materials. After going back and forth, Gayle (the owner's mother who works in the office) agreed to send a crew out to repair it. They said it should have been glued before but wasn't, removed some blocks from the wall, stacked and glued it together. Approximately one year later after they "fixed it" it fell apart again and Gayle finally came out again after having to explain to her repeatedly why I was upset. They tried saying it must be a problem with the dirt pushing out the wall or water when we clearly do not have ANY water issues and the whole purpose of a retaining wall in the first place is to keep dirt from moving!! Then she sent us a quote to have the company come out and rebuild the wall with new material, correctly. I was shocked that she would expect us to fork over 4 grand plus and blindly trust that they would build it correctly this time! After MUCH back and forth over several months Gayle agreed in writing that she would send the crew out to fix the wall with the materials that were already in use and make it look acceptable. That was in September and it is now almost December and Gayle nor anyone from the Blade Cutters office have returned my calls or emails. I am a very reasonable person and I expect that a company would stand by their work and not just blatantly ignore an unhappy customer. I have neighbors with retaining walls that have lasted them over 10 years that were done by other companies and have no issues whatsoever. The companies that did our neighbors' obviously used the correct type of material and did the work correctly. I would never recommend this company if you want work that is done correctly, will last you more than a few years, or a company that will stand by their work. I am frustrated, have been dealing overall with this issue since late spring. Now winter is coming fast and I am in the same boat I was 6 months ago with a collapsed retaining wall done by a company that did not perform a job correctly. Also to note: I asked them to respond to me on their facebook a few weeks ago as a last ditch effort....they then removed my comment and now I cannot even leave my honest review on facebook because they blocked me from being able to comment or leave a review. I called this company and emailed to get a quote for fertilizer and some landscaping. The lady i spoke with on a Friday told me they would call me the following day Saturday or by Monday from Dennis Walley, Dan or the lady i spoke to. It's about two weeks later with no follow up. Tried calling back several times and their line would go to voicemail. read more

I had the displeasure of speaking to the owner of this business regarding a job he was doing for a house that was being built behind mine. It was concerning how the land grading was done to basically drain rain water into my yard and to flood it on heavy rain days. The owner got very defensive and started yelling very quickly. He was rude, arrogant, and completely uncooperative. After a long discussion, he did say, however, that he was going to take care of the issue, But he did not and the problem remains. He seems to be the type that won't get his act together unless he is sued or legally compelled to. I know how I will get my issue corrected, but I would advise everyone to stay away from this company. read more

We can't believe it's done! From design to install everything was done according to plan. Blade Cutters took care of everything. They finished in the fall and the next spring came back out to make sure plants, grass, and Patio we're ready for summer use. We would highly recommend them to anyone! We were most impressed with their follow-up service this spring. They worked in conjunction with Caribbean Pools to make sure that everything was done in order. read more

We called blade cutters to come out for a job. They came out right away that week to give us a quote for our landscaping. Dennis was the one who came on a Friday and said he would have the estimate for us on Monday. He never called back. We called on Tuesday, no answer, so we left a message. We never heard back again and even tried calling again later in the week.. still nothing. Even if they called today apologizing, we wouldn't go with them out of principal. This is bad service, and just plain rude. I mean you took the time to come out so why not follow up? This is what puts companies out of business. read more

Do not hire this company! They did some landscaping for us and didn't line up the trees and the plants. When we called and sent numerous emails they finally came to replant the tree and plants. Needless to say the tree is now dying as are the flowers. They say it's due to no watering however we water the other trees and plants the same and they are not dying. I called to schedule an appointment to get a quote for stone edging around our house and for the addition of a dry rock creek, mulch beds, plants, trees, etc in our backyard. The woman I spoke with was so rude and dismissive that I canceled (guess they don't need the business). Our neighbors recommended them to us but based on the initial TERRIBLE first impression we decided to go with someone else. read more

Do not ever do business with this company. They charge for services that they don't complete per their own standard. Have had issues with a buried sump pump line that I paid to be placed 15 feet away from the house. Come to find out after we've noticed the yard flooding that they only buried 4 feet away. Not what we paid for. I called to have them correct and woman gives my every excuse on how we should of noticed sooner and why we didn't call sooner. She said for a charge they could come back to fix. Again we paid to have it 15 feet to begin with. This company is made up of POOR customer service and POOR quality. I Will ensure no one uses there services. Better business bureau will be receiving complaint. read more
