Great experience. Our driveway was showing age and had Blacktop Unlimited seal it. Got several estimates and they were very competitively priced. But they got the job because of the professionalism I felt communicating with them. After accepting their quote, they gave ample heads up on when the job would start. Driveway looks great! RUDE - DISREPECTFUL - DISCOURTEOUS etc... Let me start by saying, I sent a check via Federal Express for next day delivery and followed up eight days later (June 4, 2022). I initially spoke with Sherri who said they had not received it, where did I send it to. I informed her I would track it and call her right back. When I called right back (after also emailing the delivery confirmation), the phone just rang so I called again; by the third time I called I was met with the most hostile and confrontational woman, especially when it comes to a customer calling a place of business - we will call that woman, Rachael! RACHAEL: "Is your driveway on fire or something? What is the problem and no this is not Sherri and I know what you're calling for and who you are. You are a pain in the ass! You keep calling and obviously we're on the phone. The address you mailed the check to is a UPS P.O. Box and when we receive the check you will receive an email confirming that." We told you last year where to mail the check to." This was probably most certainly not the end of her shouting and had it not been for my hanging up the phone on her, I am sure she would have continued. So glad I am well aware that you cannot rationalize with irrational people! The only thing I could get out (below) quite honestly because it was pretty shocking to me that I had to look at my phone several times to make sure I was on the phone with the company I thought I called, and the lines were not crossed or something. ME: You expect me to remember an address you told me a year ago and furthermore, if that is the case, why is the other address on your proposal? Additionally, when she mentioned they send an email when checks are received; I said don't bother notifying me or depositing, to which she replied "good, I don't care." I was so taken aback by this entire phone call that honestly; I am still processing. I mean if several phone calls were the trigger for this woman, then she should most certainly have a mental status examination. This was entirely an unwarranted, unprovoked verbal attack filled with such venom that clearly this woman has a problem with herself and possibly her life to come off like a barbarian in such an uncalled-for manner. There is so much evil in the world and with all that is going on right now, I am so THANKFUL for my sanity! (especially after this call) It is also important to note, I used this company last year for my driveway and back patio. The guys that come to do the work are subcontracted, according to what the head individual that actually did the work said to me last year. He did a wonderful job. It is unfortunate that his business is probably not living up to its full potential if he is subcontracted only through this company because I can guarantee this was not Rachael's first attack on a customer! read more

I've been using Blacktop Unlimited for a reseal of my driveway every 3 years for the last 12 years or so. Their customer service is top notch (they call me every year to check in so i don't have to remember to call myself) and the job they do is fantastic. I just had it resealed in May and 2 hours after they left my neighbor's lawn guys walked on it, leaving annoying footprints. No fault of Blacktop Unlimited at all yet they offered to come back and reseal it again for free. For the inexpensive price they charge that is unbelievable customer service. Ruined my driveway which was only 5 years old. I just wanted it sealed to try to keep it looking new. Soon after someone sloppily in 10 minutes dragged some probably cheap sealer over it , it began to develop cracks. I called Anthony and he said must have been trees nearby. WHAT. I live here 46 years and have had my driveway not only dug up and totally repaved but sealed many times in between repaving. Trust me I know my property. No trees. He said maybe I should have it replaced again. Is he kidding? Everyday more cracks appear. He was condescending as though I didn't know what I was talking about. Stay far away from them. They came tore up the driveway left all their garbage in my recycle bin an garbage can. I've been calling and emailing since the day before Thanksgiving. They keep saying they are coming to remove their garbage but never do. What business leaves their garbage in the residents garbage can and recycle bin?? I had a scheduled blacktop sealing appointment for over a month. Was concerned because forecast was for rain. No call from company. Just a text and an email reminding me of my appointment. Email stated that if rain was in the forecast they would reschedule in the morning. At 8 am a worker arrived to seal my driveway. I asked if it was a good idea to seal the driveway before it rained in 2 hours. He said no. Ok so what are you doing here? Evidently, many customers do not know that rain ruins blacktop sealing so they try and get away with it. Very professional. In an hour I got an email telling me my new date was in 10 days. When I called the office, they couldn't find my contract, and they couldn't tell me about rescheduling opportunities. So, to sum Blacktop Unlimited up, they couldn't care about their customers or the quality of work that they provide. Find a more professional company before they destroy your driveway. read more

They never showed up and than proceeded to lie about it. I was home the whole time. They claimed a hose was in my driveway so they couldn't finish the work they never started. My door was open the whole time. All they had to do was ring my doorbell and I would have removed it. When I called I was hung up on by the receptionist and the owner Anthony never called me back. I have been a Blacktop Unlimited customer for over 20 years and could not have been more satisfied. I recommended them to everyone I knew, ALL of the employees have been exceptional. They were always, nice, professional, reliable and priced very reasonably. My experience this year was very different. A HUGE wind and rainstorm was forecast for our scheduled day. They came at 3PM, finished, and at 3:30 the wild storm came. The sealant pooled together and a good amount of it ran off onto the Belgian Block, apron, and sidewalk. In addition, the painted house foundation was covered and still is covered with sealant that splashed all over it. The staff was great and rescheduled the guys to comeback 3 days later to address, and fix the problem. They came and simply sealed it again, knowing nothing of any problem. I wrote and called to speak with the owner and was told he does not have time to waste talking, too many jobs to do. He would look at it, and get back to me. He called from my house a couple days later and he was angry and misinformed right through the end of the 5 visits. There was a second call and it was not positive either. After 5 visits, all that is really different now, is that they got the sealant off the blocks and sidewalk, and the beach ball size thick blotches aren't as glaring. Nothing can be done and it will stay that way. It is unfortunate that after so many years of great service, we had this experience. I would still recommend them, with the LOUD warning that if a problem occurs, resolution may not be a very smooth experience. read more

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME with this company. Because this is exactly what they will do to you - WASTE YOUR TIME. ABSOLUTELY NO Customer Service AT ALL! First I called and left message that I wanted to get a quotel, waited I don't know how long. I then receive an email out of nowhere with a proposal. Im like how did this happen? I realized they came to my house without notifying me and when I wasn't home to do the proposal. Of course the proposal was missing several items that I know needed to be discussed. I call office again to explain what happen and would like to meet someone to discuss the proposal. For beginners I had 4 big trees that were cut and had stumps grinded but figured there still has to be some prep work(Not on proposal) There are also drainage issues (anybody that looked at my driveway could tell) and prob need a drain.(Not on proposal). Few more items. The girl (I think her name was Rachel..Never said her name...as I stated no customer service) says I will let Jose know and he will call you. No call. I call a few days later because I am going on vacation and didn't want to miss his call while I am away and the girl asks what day I will return and he will call me that day. I return on a Tuesday and no call. I wait until the next day and the girl says, you are on his list to be called. I take her word (again) wait a few more days and Nothing, no call. I call again because I am still off work and this a great time for someone to come by (which I also mentioned to the girl in my previous calls) she asks you haven't heard from him yet? She puts me on hold and says I just called him and left a message and gave me his direct #. I wait a little while and NO CALL. I decide to call him and no answer so I leave a message. Amazingly enough he calls me back a while later. This was a Friday and he says I can come tonight or tomorrow. I say okay (lucky enough I was going to be home all weekend). I wait and he doesn't show up the Friday evening and no call. He calls me next day Saturday and gives me a time he will be there. He finally comes and I start explaining the items I know about and show him the original proposal. Now get this, he wasn't even the one that did the original proposal and didn't care about that proposal. Now more time wasted and we have to re-measure everything, redo the entire proposal and pricing and on top of that go over all the items I know needed to be addressed. Finally we are done and he says he will write up and send to me. I get an email a couple days later and then I get another email a little while later with a 3rd proposal. I now have 3 proposals and of course the last one is the most expensive that went up over $2000 from first. I go over the latest proposal and made sense. I call office to discuss and see if we can just work out a little better deal with some cash (like any deal people get they call to discuss). The girl almost had a heart attack and became rude with me, saying I don't think they will do that..etc. I said okay I understand I would just like to discuss with someone and see what we can do and would like to get this job scheduled either way. She says you dealt with Rachel in your past calls, I will have her call you back. NO CALL BACK AGAIN. I wait patiently. Even if they can't do anything with the pricing or change the proposal, I would expect a call back.Which would have been fine with me A few more days go by and still NO CALL. Now I am a little pissed but still anxious to get my driveway done. I decide to call again and no answer at the office, so I leave a message saying who I am, my address, why I am calling and Rachels name NO CALLS AGAIN! Now I am beyond frustrated. I decide to call 1 more time (don't even ask me why) and no answer and I leave 1 last message. Still nothing!!! I decide to check my email to look over the 3 proposals, by some miracle I get a call back. Let me try emailing them and I got a reply in no time at all with exactly this "Last we spoke you wanted a better price, the price is the price can't go any lower. Call office btwn 9am and 5pm when we are open,. If no one answers leave a message". No hello, no introduction, no please, no thank you, no apologies NOTHING. I reply saying "Yes, there are also 3 proposals that were sent and I would like to discuss which proposal to use. I also said I just called a few minutes ago and left a full detailed message, do you need me to call again? NO REPLY to email, no call back NOTHING!!. THE END of communication (because I gave up on them at this point).They can reply with whatever they want to this, but these are the facts. I have no reason to make this stuff up at all. My time is more valuable then to waste on a company like this and to waste writing all this review for no reason. read more
