I've been here three times for all my cars! They do an amazing job every time! Prices are great also!

I went a couple weeks ago to have all of my windows tinted. I wasn't in a rush and even told them to take their time. When I picked up my car and inspected the work, I noticed that every single window had scratches on the tint. I understand that tint installation requires tools to remove air and bubbles, but the amount of scratching on each window was excessive. I pointed the scratches out, and the installer even tried wiping them with a microfiber cloth, but it was obvious they were on the tint itself. Instead of fully addressing the issue, I was asked when I could come back based on their availability rather than mine. Another issue was pricing. I was quoted $250 over the phone, but when I arrived, the price became $260 plus an additional $5 credit card fee. I didn't argue about it and paid the $265 because I've used this shop before and had good experiences. I brought the car back on Friday to have the issues corrected. I explained that all of the windows had scratches, but no one really inspected them with me or asked me to point out the problem areas. They only replaced two windows, while the rest still have visible scratches and bubbles. There are also some areas with bubbles and a few corners that don't appear to have been cut cleanly. I've used this shop in the past with all my vehicles and recommend it and was happy with the results, which is why this experience is so disappointing. Right now, I'm waiting a few more weeks to see if some of the remaining imperfections settle as the tint cures. However, if the scratches, bubbles, and cut corners remain, I'll have to bring the car back again. At this point, I'm very disappointed with the quality of the work and the customer service. I paid for a professional tint job and expected much better attention to detail. I'm hoping they make it right, but based on this experience, I don't plan on returning in the future. read more

Had called ahead to see if they had time to get it done. Just visiting from out of town but my cousin mentioned these guys. Kyle was able to show me the film types they had and told me about the ceramic. I'm from Sacramento so it's extra hot up here so I chose to go with that film. Got all the way around for a good price. It's all looks great and didn't see them remove and windows or panels. They got me in and out pretty quickly. Overall super happy with it and the car looks great! Spoke with Kyle when I got to the shop and he had great customer service. He went over everything in great detail and answered all the questions I had. The rest of the staff were very polite and informative as well. Got a 5 ceramic tint on the back windows and 4 on the front. Looks great and I'm very satisfied with my service. I will start by saying I was referred to them as the best and least expensive tinting place. Which after calling around they was. I had went to them for my other car back in 2010 or so. I have recommended them to friends and family ( which some have went to them) . Now moving forward to the now and why I gave a 1 star which I wouldnt have given that. Back in the beginning of the year my daughter called to get a quote being it has been so many yrs sine I had been there. She spoke to a gentleman , who quoted her $200.00 with the yr and model. She stated he had a little attitude on the phone so of course she gave one back. They state we can drop the car off and pick it up when it was finished. So, I had a co worker follow me on our lunch, when I got there yep you said it the guy my daughter spoke with helped me. Yep definitely had a cocky little attitude for a business. So I told him my daughter called and was told it was 200. He stated the tint would be 240. I was like that's not she was told and of course the first thing he said was your daughter had an attitude when she called and I stated yeah she said you did as well. So now I am pissed cause I went on my damn lunch from HWY 68 to them on an hour lunch and my co worker wasted her lunch as well as gas ( good thing she likes me). that was my first poor customer service from the guy. So moving forward to Oct. 5th. I went back being my dad wanted to tint my windows for my birthday. I figured time had passed .So I call to make sure there are no hidden charges. I gave my year and model, the guy on the phone very nice stated 240 but let me double check and of course what do I hear, that same rude employee in the back ground saying tell them to bring the car and we can quote her right. So I thought its been a while lets be positive NOPE HE still had his same funky attitude. All I can think is he had to be the owner cause if not why would you want someone like him with a bad attitude representing your company. So I get there I tell them I called and need a price for my tint. The guy that was helping asked and with attitude the guy replied she was told the price, so of course I said I was told 240 but to bring my car for an accurate price. Now here I am a person with an attitude trying to stay positive he made it hard. I was told it would be about an hour. I got there at 11ish and didn't get out until 3:30ish. still having a good attitude, my car looked so cute with tint. The same bad attitude dude brings my car out and parks it, I walk up get my keys and politely said Thank you with a smile, now this rude MF, handed me my keys and said NOTHING! WOW OK SOMEONE WAS MISERABLE. I TOLD MY DAD WELL APPARENTLY SOMEONE IS STILL BUT HURT. I AM SORRY DONT HAVE ATTITUDE AND THINK THE CUSTOMER WILL NOT REACT ! I was told don't role down my window for 3-5 days with a bright sticker to remind me (so perfect). I get home after washing my car, I do a look around and see that the driver window at the bottom was bubbling ( which he stated was not covered cause it means we rolled down the window) and the back window along the bottom. So I called no answer, they was closed. So I called first thing in the morning on the 7th, spoke to a guy on the phone and I explained to him what I see, he said to bring the car back and they will look at it. So I tell him I m off tomorrow 10/8 will that be ok and what time do they open. He stated 9 and it was perfect cause I had an oil change at 2 in Salinas. I get there it was just 1 guy there, he looked at my window and said they will take care of it. He said they may have to redo the back ( which they took the longest on) if they couldn't fix the bubbles. Then another guy shows up looks and a few minutes later they are done. This is where I got mad and decided I will let this shit bubble and left a note to myself on the back of my receipt that says I went there date a nd time, they claimed they fixed it and it till has the same issue. I can honestly say I would not recommend them to another friend family or stranger. I will watch my windows and call as needed I have five yrs lets see how they honor this. If or when I have to go back I pray I don't have to deal with the same bad attitude dude. I would post pictures however its hard without getting a shadow. read more

Fast, friendly service and when they've been extra busy, they've let me know ahead of time. That was very helpful. Two years ago I took my girlfriend's car in. It was her Christmas gift. Took my BRAND NEW truck for tint & got my side window seals cut & my window slashed. The owner was not present when my truck was getting tinted so when I returned days after to mention the damages, he was extremely rude & unprofessional. How do you take responsibility for the seals but not the scratch on the same window? Not to mention the employee who worked on my truck had the WORST attitude. Yet the another employee that was assisting with my truck was mentioning to me how expensive my truck was & stated "you must have good insurance". Yet here I am now, filing an insurance claim & lawsuit against them just to get my window fixed. Do your research & read reviews people! Apparently this isn't the 1st or 2nd car they've damaged. I haven't had any issue yet with this company. I went in today to have Wife's windows tinted, was pretty fast. The only issue I have was it cost $120 when it states $99 special. But I'm not one to cause a scene over $20. I was also charged $5 fee, but leaving to get cash was not an option because I have a little one. Owner seem nice, I was concerned once I read all of the horrible reviews. I called my wife to make sure I was at the right location lol. But I have a 5 year warranty and will utilize it as one of the windows already has a bubble but no biggie as long as they are able to take care of it when we go in. The worst customer service, they lost my paper work and didn't call me to pick up my vehicle until I called and they told me its cash only and I was on my way with cash and they didn't wait for me to get there they left and closed the shop knowing that I was on my way not even 10 minutes. . Its upsetting because the owner gave no fucks given attitude and just gave me the invoice and didn't say one word to me, to top it off my car didn't start they drained my battery and they had to jump start the car.. its been the worse experience ever!!! Blackout tinting is a horrible place to get your windows tinted. I had an appointment at 9:00 AM and the employee got there 9:25am . In addition he didn't even apologized for that inconvenience. Extremely poor costumer service. At the end of the service I discovered my door was damaged because it wouldn't even open not to mention the damaged paint I found. I had to go to an auto shop to get my door fixed as well as the paint job. For anybody who lives in the 831 area do not get your windows tinted here. read more

My first point of contention is that they don't understand the meaning of time. They might want to get a paper a pencil and a wall clock to keep the promises with customers. Second, it would be nice to know that they don't take credit cards. Is this so difficult to let the customer know when they call for an appointment? Lastly when we drove away we discovered that the film wasn't put on properly in all areas and this gave a ripple or underwater effect while looking through the window. This is their whole job and they couldn't put it on properly. Seems they should test the window before giving the car back to the customer. read more

Ehh what can I say mediocre at that. Few flaws some dirt and a small scratch in tint, cuts are different from each window. I just noticed that they didn't put my door trim back on all the way missing parts. No I wouldn't recommend this place. Unfriendly attitudes. Not real professional. When it comes to running a business quality and profession are really important. Didn't receive any of that from here. No pride in workmanship. I usually use a guy from Santa Cruz. He moved away. When I called this afternoon asking if I can get an appointment for today, it was around 330. I understand that it's a bit later in the day, but it doesn't hurt to ask because maybe I can get squeezed in. I didn't get the persons name who answered the phone, but I ask if I can get an appointment for today, since it's my only day off, and the gentleman said "dude, it's 3:30"... What's that supposed to mean to me? I looked up your business hours, and it said open until 6. I don't tint Windows, so how am I supposed to know? If you ant do it today, why be rude? Review Update (about 5 years later): I've had Blackout Tint do 2 of my cars (Scion TC & Chevy Cruze). Their price is pretty affordable but in the long run, I start seeing blurryness and little bubbles on my car's windows. My back window started getting blurry after 2.5 years. I had them fix it for me. After couple years later, it's starting to happen again. Save your cash and do it yourselves it will probably turn out better. The tint job was horrible I should have paid a crack head to tint my windows. My car was a mess they left all their trash in my car they didn't bother cleaning up after themselves,tint on the corners of glass were cut and on some corners the tint was rolling back where it did not stick. They cut the weather stripping on the glass to make the tint fit. I waited all day for a job that was supposed to only take an hour with no call back. We had our car tinted and the morning after I noticed the tint wasn't completely stuck on in the back window. My husband went back and asked them to fix it, but they gave him the run around but he finally convinced them. He had the receipt and everything but they kept arguing against doing the work over. That is not good work ethic!! They also gave him one price and once he got there they charged him more for the vent windows. Very deceptive! read more

This place sucks we went to tint my car and my sisters and my sister had left some money that was to pay the tint on the side of the door and when we went back they said they didn't see any money my window had bubbles that never came off when they had said they would and on top of that they call us liars saying that we hadn't left no money and said that we were accusing them of stealing just because they have tattoos (we have tattoos too) and they said if we didn't pay they wouldn't give us the car so my sister had to actually pay double I am never going back there ever again!!! Friendly staff. They were extremely patient with me not being able to decide what tint darkness I wanted. I changed my mind multiple times and they were kind enough to show me the differences in each using their own personal vehicles! I was in and it in less than an hour, I left the headlights on and they even jump started my car.... Went here in recommendations from many friends that were very happy with their work. Be careful my mom had a car tinted there when she bought the car new (2014)and had it tinted and the front passenger side went bad. I have the receipt and on the receipt it says invoice . they try to pull a scam and put CG on the invoice so that means gift certificate so with that they will not honor the receipt . So keep your eyes open. I had to pick a star. So I pick one but it's a minus star. read more

Beware of price increases. They pull you in with a price and upon receiving your car there's nothing you can do but pay the final amount. In my case, after a $100 offer (for which Blackout is known for), I was charged $130 for the back 3 windows after an alleged "price increase" over two days. I had seen all the bad reviews, yet still decided to go (bad choice). Not only did I have to wait for almost 3 hours, but at the end ALL my windows ended up with bubbles! When I went back to tell them, they said "I had to make an appointment" so I did (they even gave attitude).
