They sold annual varieties as perennial . Last year, June I purchased $150 worth of perennial…read moreSylvia. (the vigorous blue flowering perennial you see growing all over the neighborhood. This time of year.) The price was attractive. I had a good location with good soil and water supply. I planted all of these Sylvia and they grew real well through the summer. But not a single one of them survived the winter. It wasn't the winter. It wasn't my location. It was the plants. They sold them as perennial, but they were not. And they offered no compensation. I will be purchasing any more from this family nursery. And that makes me feel bad, but if they cannot back up their product, I cannot justify providing them with my business.

They also have $6 fresh eggs for a dozen. Some produce items were a little more expensive than others and didn't look as fresh as other markets. At their…read morefarm stand in Brighton, they not only have garden veggies & fruits, but flower baskets, salsas, sauces, jams & much much more. You can find them in many Denver metro Farmer's Markets as well. Check out their website for more info & locations. I discovered them one Sunday at the Central Park (Founder's Green) Farmer's Market - 29th & Roslyn (8:30AM -12:30PM). At Founder's Green look for the yellow tents & big white truck every week, rain or shine thru about mid-October. I was told they've been at that same spot for 20 years. The produce looks like it could appear on a Food Magazine cover! It's beautiful. Everything is bigger, brighter & better than what you'd find in the grocery aisles. Over the weeks I've tried many of the veggies & fruits, sometimes they have yummy samples. The two owners ( I think they are the owners), are there each week - one helps customers with the produce & the other weighs & takes payment. They're friendly & super helpful. They've given tips on microwaving corn on the cob & offering to cut off the very long tops of carrots. Speaking of corn....if you're a corn lover their Peaches & Cream Corn on the Cob is definitely worth getting, so fresh & sweet. Palizzi Farms Produce is the best!

All I heard was they were getting screwed over by the president. It's seems they don't understand what tariffs do. They will be pasted down to the customers, or retailers will ask you for a better deal. Kings, Safeway, Walmart etc is trying this, of the retaik will past so or all to the customer. Small business like this will get screwed. Equipment, gas, etc that takes to grows stuff will go up. They don't understand economics and tariffs. Last time trump did this wood , metal went up. Homes prices and cars will go up by 5 to 10 k. People will cut back. We see that already. Last time trump did this. He had to help out farmers and ranchers and they did not get all their loses covered by him. Other countries will do the same to us. That is a trade war. Every thing it takes to grow on the far, will go up. Equipment, parts, seeds, labor etc. It will be past to the consumer. Countries don't pay tariffs consumers will it's past down the supply chain. The farm consists of one acre of regenerative vegetables and they specialize in growing unique--often heirloom--varieties of your favorite kitchen vegetables. Right now, you order online and then drop by the farm to pick up your order on the weekend. The website is easy to navigate and pay. Unfortunately, for me, it's late in the season, so there is a limited selection, but what they do have is reasonably priced, plentiful and fresh. It can't get much fresher than this. The farmhouse has parking nearby and judging from looking at the garden from a distance, appear to use only organic methods. It appears that during the summer, you may be able to pick your own or just drop by the farm and pick up what they have in season. I am glad I found Paper Kite. I think we will have an even better relationship next growing season.

Denver Federal Center is not just a place to work, but fun as well!…read more In touring my new digs for work, I was invited to join a group of ladies in experiencing the DFC Farmer's Market, just outside our new building! What is this Farmer's Market you say? Why is it cool? Here goes - STAR #1 = Each Thursday, a variety of local gems set up shop right off Main St, near Building 41.  The location is perfect as it is centrally located and provides plenty of parking to those coming to enjoy! STAR #2 = Food trucks galore! With a killer line up present each week (usually around 8+ trucks!) I find it quite hard to narrow down my choices! I've had the opportunity to nosh on Dos Gringos, Barbed Wire Beef, Tocabe (American Indian), an old Dodge van converted into a food truck (sandwich's "brah"), and a pizza truck (with full functioning pizza oven) dishing out the freshest Za' around! The variety is vast and the food is delicious! Pricing is on point, and portions tend to be large! Got a taco passport? Use it here! STAR #3 = Vegetable lovers, UNITE! An entire section of the Farmer's Market is dedicated to local produce! Unlike most farmer's markets, DFC doesn't weigh by the ounce or pound, but simply let's you pick and choose your favorites, for a cheap price! Just grab a bag, load it up with all you want, and pay a mere $10 for all you can hold! STAR #4 = Looking for a gift? COME HERE! A group of small vendors gather each week showcasing their newest creations - from pottery to jewelry, there is something for everyone! Although this little weekly festival is crowded and the trucks tend to run out of items quickly (boo to no more fry bread), I won't hold their popularity against them. I KNOW I'll be back to sample various offerings, or pick up groceries, all while on the job!
