Unfortunately, I didn't have the best experience during my recent visit, and I wanted to share why…read more I had an appointment scheduled for early afternoon and arrived on time, only to be asked to wait in the seating area. I waited for 30 minutes before being greeted by my stylist, and then another 15 minutes before being taken to the wash bowl. After the wash, I was told to wait again--this time for another 30 minutes--before finally being brought over for my color treatment. Once the color was applied, I was moved to a different area to let it sit, but it ended up sitting in my hair for over an hour while my stylist, Jerica Lafayette, worked on another client. This was concerning, as permanent hair dye typically shouldn't be left in for more than 30-45 minutes. After her other client was finished, I waited an additional 10 minutes before being brought back to the wash bowl. From there, I was placed in a chair for my blowout. During the blow-drying process, the stylist began at my roots instead of the ends and tugged roughly through my hair, which was tangled and dry at the tips. The blowout felt rushed, and I ultimately left with frizzy, curly ends that didn't reflect the quality I expected. This was really disappointing, especially since I was so excited to support a Black-owned salon. I still left a tip out of courtesy, but spending nearly 5 hours there for such an underwhelming experience was incredibly disheartening.

It was a great experience and I love it. Booking the appointment was very easy through her website! She explains everything in the site and can also be reached via text. Her shop is nice and clean. She's conversational without it being awkward or too much for the customer. I also thought she was really funny. I'm so happy with my first experience of cutting my precious natural hair. They have hairdressers, nail artists, aestheticians, etc. Every business has their own studio studio with their own 4 walls. It's really the perfect setting to get pampered for the day! I've been getting my haircut at Mane Salon and took my daughter there to get her haircut and we love Stephanie! She's so talented and I've always loved my cuts from her and now my daughter to experience her magic. While I was visiting, I looked at the salon names and I happened to see my daughter's former primary school teacher there! We hadn't seen her in years, so it was nice to see her and pop by to for a quick hello. This is a great place. You will definitely need to make an appointment directly with each business/studio that is in there.
