However, after all of the excitement and determination to make the weekend great for The Husband's 50th, I don't think I will return. It was a very difficult balance to celebrate in such a quiet calm place. We were asked not to play loud vulgar music, but the aux was passed and there it goes. Bill wasn't rude but...I don't know. The issue was resolved and we still ended up having a great time. In hindsight I am feeling the cost for the rental of the pavilion was a bit expensive with no contracts and such...I don't know, but because I had such a great time it's a shrug ‍ I still liked it better than renting a section in the club. The pavilion is really nice and huge with several fire pits conveniently placed to enjoy your stay. They sold me a stack for the pits for $20. We had a trailer pulled to the camp site for $45 a night. Make sure you confirm the size and amps needed. It was almost an issue. I'm a novice at camping. The paddle boats could use an update/upgrade. I would recommend you go here if you want to camp not party we had our friend pull a truck in for some good BBQ all of his cuisines ate great though! The camper was rented through Better Travels LLC, Rhett or go to outdoorsy.com. Rhett was amazing!!! He was professional and safe . There's probably as much parking lot area there, as there is park. There are wooden camping shelters there. Some people trailer horses to ride there. There are better parks in the area. On of my favorites is Panola Mountain state park. It's only about a 20minute drive away, and it's a lot bigger, and more interesting. There's a huge park area, and there are miles of natural trails in the woods there. It does cost 5.00 to park, but it's worth it. Alexander lake park is not far away. It's worth checking out, and so is Arabia mountain park, lots of hiking area there, including a huge granite formation like Stone Mountain, only not as high.

There are a few places along the trail that lead to dirt roads, if you want to go off the paved road. But otherwise, it's miles and miles of nature and beauty. This trail has all that rustic and deep forests feel to it. After a few miles it might even bring out your inner poet and have you start reciting Robert Frost, "two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both..." In case you might like the forest too much and wish to become a hermit, there are good hills thrown into the trail for good measure. It's a nice balance of even road to let you enjoy the ride, then it changes with hills interval for a good cardiovascular workout. The view is lovely. There's a lake at panola state park, river along the way, farms and even a monastery. I saw people fishing at the lake. I spied wild life such as: Ducks Deer Rabbit There are signs for bike & kayak rental at Panola State Park.

Lenora Park has plenty of beautiful green space to spread out blankets for relaxing or reading, paved walking trails, a fishing lake, community garden, softball fields, disc golf course, separate dog parks for large and small dogs, pavilion, grill, playground, restrooms and a 2 court gymnasium for basketball and pickleball. There's also a seasonal pool. I go here often just to enjoy nature and being outdoors weather permitting. I especially enjoy walking in Lenora Park during the Fall season as it's beautiful to see the many trees changing colors. Lenora park is also my go to location for early voting. Lenora Park is about to undergo some major improvements with revitalizing and expanding the gym into a community recreation center that will have a dance studio, art classroom, kitchen and will include an upper-level balcony with a two-way walking track. I'm excited and looking forward to seeing the progress while on my walks in the park.

Each ranger was so welcoming, knowledgeable, and answered all our questions. One ranger was so knowledgeable about the flora and fauna in and around the mountain. One ranger was a bird expert and shared their binoculars with us and showed us how to use a bird call app to figure out how to identify all the fowl we saw. The other ranger told us lots of stories of the history of the park. It was a great experience and I highly recommend you try it.

I had been out there maybe 20 min. Saw a large Buck (deer) tried to get a pic but he ran when I pulled out the phone . The trails are completely paved with several wooden bridges along the way. Off pavement trails throughout the park. I did not venture off bc again I was alone and I'm not really familiar with the park. Great park to get you in top tier shape. Winding curves and elevation along the trail. Plenty of shade as the trees hover over . It reminds you of Stone Mountain Park just not as large. Idea weather 80 degrees low humidity. The general objective of a covered bridge design is to provide a cost-effective, functional, safe, and durable crossing. Although I think there are exceptions and this one basically goes nowhere being it was repurposed and preserved for all of us to enjoy it's not really being used as it was originally intended it is a beautiful structure and if you've never driven across one of these magnificent structures here's your opportunity. I've visited a number of these historic and nostalgic bridges over time, and it's always a thrill when they still allow traffic to pass. This one lane wonder requires one too pay close attention since you are required to straddle the center of the bridge with your wheels along a path of rough cut lumber. If you really want to connect with this structure you must walk across it using the original designated pedestrian side of the bridge, you can feel the strength of the design and appreciate the workmanship of those that created this beautiful piece of art...
