Central Valley Foods - They're the best almonds ever!?!

These are some of the freshest and best Almonds I have eaten in my life…read more The sales rep was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about almonds. He was able to tell me why their almonds taste so good (fresh, better ingredients, no sugar just honey, etc) and the prices were more than reasonable (5 bags for $25). Just so you know when I say the best almonds ever I mean it. I have driven as far as Modesto to get Almonds. I also attended the Almost Festival in Ripon, CA and these Almonds were better than those the Amish were selling (Root's Nut and Tree Farms). Heck they even beat out Oliver's. There are plenty of flavors: Cinnamon Honey, Orange Honey, Lemon Honey (tastes like fruit loops!!!), Butter Toffee, Chili Lemon, Wasabi, etc. To catch these guys you will need to go to the festivals. They are at all of them. I caught them in Alameda at the Spring Festival on Park Street. Apparently there is one in Fremont in August. I'm planning on bringing $100 and buying enough to get me through Winter. I spent just $31 today and i am so regretting not buying more.

I haven never actually been to Central Valley Foods - this review is specifically for the Almonds…read moretheir rep brought to the Tahoe Art Festival last month. We bought five bags of almonds in various flavors; Tamari, Cinnamon Honey, Garlic, Jalapeno Cheddar & Butter Toffee. We've been powering through them - seriously using them for everything from snacks to cupcake garnishes. They are SO delicious! And pretty affordable too. I also appreciate that I recognize every single ingredient they use. For example, the Cinnamon Honey Almonds contain dry roasted almonds, sugar, brown sugar, water, honey and cinnamon. No weirdy sounding dyes or monosodilytemakesyourbumfat.

I remember buying fruits from there when the CUESA farmers market was at the back of the Hyatt Regency Hotel as it was named back then. You get the drift. Various family members and friends man their booth on Tuesdays and Saturdays at the Ferry Farmers Market in San Francisco with the owners present Saturdays. My preference used to be shopping on Tuesdays to avoid the crowds and hustle bustle tourists. Due to the dwindling selection Tuesdays and a lesser crowd due to the pandemic, Saturdays are not as bad as normal, not to say I like it this way. On the first Saturday in March, I noticed that a few customers buying some flowers and, with Chinese New Year just wrapping up and the Cherry blossom season about to start, I bought a bunch for my family. They turned out to be peach blossoms (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=wdzZ2zYvI1lC-nB5zGEyOQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q); my mom and her caregiver immediately recognized them and I, being the naiive one, felt like I just learned how to change a lightbulb. They are a nice addition to our living room with some of the Chinese New Year's plants withering away and my Costco tulip plant already blooming and long gone. With it being March, a tweener time fruits wise, they no longer have a stand on Tuesdays and likely will not be back until April when stone fruits begin to be harvested. Apricots, peaches, nectarines are the probably next to hit the market. And with the warmer weather, the increasing number of vaccinated people, and a general feeling of somewhat normalcy, things are beginning to look a little brighter now. Before you know it, it'll be cherry season. Can't wait!

Visited May 10 2026. See both receipts as always…read more It was PACKED today for Mothers Day! This is a great stop with a full bar and nice menu. We ordered the chicken fried steak that comes with a couple choices. We picked raviolis and salad. It also included garlic bread. The raviolis are my favorite! Nice seasoning on the dish! We also ordered the cheeseburger with bacon and garlic fries. Their burger bun was alittle dry but the burger itself was tasty. Garlic fries were yummy ( more garlic please!) We had so many leftovers! It's a fun place to go to as they also have a full deli and gift shop. They also serve breakfast. On the way out I got their gelato...walnut brownie I think. They have 2 sizes..one for 3.25 and the bigger size for 7.25. Very good on a hot day! Kid friendly and a must stop!

The decor is hard to miss…read morewith mounted animals all over the walls and even hanging from the ceiling, giving it a rustic, old-school steakhouse feel that makes the experience stand out. This is the place to come for steaks and drinks. The beer flight was a great way to try a variety and was easily one of the highlights. The lemoncello martini leans very sweet, almost like a sugar bomb, so it really depends on your preference. Food-wise, stick to what they do best. The steaks are solid, and this is absolutely a spot to order the prime rib, especially if you catch the Saturday special. On the other hand, the shrimp scampi was underwhelming and pretty basic, with shrimp that could have used more seasoning. Do not skip the gelato counter. The pistachio and peanut butter gelato are a must. Overall, a fun, casual spot with a unique atmosphere. Come for the steaks and beer, skip the seafood pasta and save room for gelato.

It isn't very often that you run into a gas station or truck stop and have a good experience. I had…read moreto stop here while on the road because my pregnant bladder couldn't hold it any longer. Here's what impressed me: 1. The young gentleman behind the counter greeted me when I walked through the doors. He was nice, polite and approachable. 2. The bathrooms were CLEAN. I mean, practically spotless, which is sooo appreciated. I will say they were lacking in healthier drink options like sparkling waters, kombucha and my other go-to's. They should consider bringing in some inventory of the sort. But, all and all very happy with our experience here. It was quick, easy, the facilities are nice and new, staff was friendly and after searching around I did eventually find a healthier alternative refreshment. Will be back to support this establishment again in the future!

This review has nothing to do with the store or inside the Market…read more The gas station is clean, but there are a few big issues. #1, the "Low" gas price they advertise on their sign is not a cash price like most gas stations, it's a price with a car wash. #2. Speaking of the car wash, we opted to stop and pay $12 for the basic wash. Our car was covered with pollen, dirt, and bugs from being parked at the airport. The car wash did a horrible job, there was literally no soap coming out of the nozzles, it was like a high priced rinse with stinky water. My car came out of the wash with bugs still on the windshield. I'll skip the car wash. At least the store and bathrooms are clean...
