I ended up arriving late and by late, I mean at 9am on the dot when the class started. The class started one hour before the general business opened. A couple others and I ended up waiting outside for a few minutes until a staff member walked by and opened the front doors. After walking in late while others were already seated the instructor had to display some level of authority by making the late arrives get up and move from whatever seat we were in to the first row in the front of the class. Ok, be that guy. The remainder of the course was informative and engaging. For it to be eight hours, they did a good job in breaking up the content and scheduling the breaks/lunch. Boxed lunches were provided and there is a dedicated space for breaks including tables, TV, vending machines etc. The cost of the course seemed to be a value given the time, lunch provided and gun rental and ammo and limited range time which was provided. (Just compared to the cost of gun rental, ammo purchase and range time). The owner introduced himself and handed the certificate of course completions at the end as he must sign the doc. This place is bright (well lit), clean looking and spacious. Range/Lanes are split into two sides which both have a safety attendant. I have since returned a few times for range time. They offer memberships which I am not signed up for at this time. Maybe once the cost of ammo returns to normal.

I apologized and refused to pay them. Do not take any weapons to have them fixed or you may get screwed. They do not know what customer service is - worse gun shop ever!

Small shop, often crowded. Has a reasonable turn-over on inventory so if it is not there this week it may be next. Bargains can sometimes be found. If buying off the shelf, service is pretty quick. If looking for a trade, the owner does the appraisal, so you may have to wait a bit if there is a line.

He broke out the paperwork and told me to fill it out and that my address had to match the address on my license. My permanent address is in Florida, so I asked him if that was going to be an issue. He then REFUSED to sell me the gun, INSISTING that "the ATF had told him he couldnt sell ANY gun to an out of state residence". I informed him that he was wrong about that. But he still refused. Now, I was in there with my GF, who is a "well groomed" ATTORNEY, and Im a skinny white boy in glasses with NO tattoos or piercings. There was absolutely NO REASON for him to NOT sell me this shotgun. Since Ive been home, Ive called three other gun stores, who told me I could buy ANY long gun I wanted, no matter WHAT state of residence I held. I even tried calling him BACK to talk to him after calling the first store, who employs ex law enforcement and actually had TWO COPS standing there when I called, who ALL said HE WAS WRONG. He STILL insisted saying "he goes by what the ATF told him " and started telling ME something about HB 203 "which would change it to where he COULD sell to out of state residence". I had my GF look the bill up, and it doesnt seem to cover ANYTHING ABOUT selling to out of state residents. It covers getting your CCW being out of state, which WILL allow me to get my CCW up here. So, in summary, avoid this store at ALL costs. The owner obviously DOES NOT know his laws, and/or using VERY bad judgement. And his prices werent NEAR good enough to make up for the fact of being uneducated about laws that affect his store dramatically.

After paying for 4 consecutive months up till March 2025, the owner once stated that I hadn't paid since Dec 2025. Looking back now, it obvious they had no idea what was going on with their memberships. Im glad I printed my receipts & have proof of payments. As of today 5-12-2025..... my debit card is pending a monthly charge from Hammer Down Range. This payment will be disputed & stopped...I may also pursue theft charges for their ignorance and disregard for us paying customers. If anything they owe all their members a refund, We dont owe Hammer Down anything.
