I have been to 5 other shops but this is now MY SHOP!! All the artist there are so talented, fun and make you feel comfortable being there. The other places I have been to, the artists are cold, they don't make conversation with you and make you feel like your just a number. Not Black Rose! The artist there, Chelsie Marie is a young an talented artist...not just a tattoo person...she is an ARTIST! She knows her shit. Her work is by far the best I have seen. She takes the time to listen to what you want, draws it up and let's you change it a million times until it's what you want and until your happy with the piece. Hands down the best tattoo shop in the area I've dealt with. I was reluctant to get another tattoo since my last experience with another shop was not good. I saw Gil. He was extremely patient and tech. savvy with state of the art equipment and inks. He designed a beautiful tattoo that not only looked spectacular. But corrected the poor appearance of the last shops tattoo. During my 6 hour session with Gil. I was able to observe the other artists at work as well as interact with them. All were very attentive to their clients at all times and great at managing the shops many walk-ins. Even the apprentice there was able to attend to walk-ins and assist in a very professional way. Before I left the shop. They of course briefed me on the care of my new tattoo. But also provided me a great after care kit and very nice shirt. Other shops I've used charges for the products. And didn't show the interest in your after care as did The Black Rose. I'm already planning my next tattoo with them. I can assure you you will not be disappointed. read more

I have to write on this post to make people aware of the work being done at Black Rose. I cannot express in words just how excited I am to have my first piece done on me last night at Black Rose by Jimmy. I have waited over 25 years to get a tattoo due to fear of having bad work done on me. but the work that Jimmy did to me last night assured me that I found myself a new artist and I am very excited that this is going to be the first of many. The staff there at Black Rose are very professional and clean. The time went by very quickly and just when I thought I was going to pay an arm and a leg I was surprised yet again with the affordable pricing or better yet reasonable pricing. I have to say to everybody that I am actually contemplating on moving to Fort Lauderdale just to be close to my artist because I know I have many more tattoos that I am now going to get due to the quality of the work I got done last night thank you black rose tattoos thank you Jimmy I'll be seeing you again very soon. read more

Always call first to make sure someone is open to pierce or tattoo a lot of the artist work off of appointments so if you just walk in you may get lucky and an artist may be available or have a couple hours in between appoints. But i know welcomes are always welcome bc one of the artist will let you know when they can tattoo you in a couple hours or book an appointment for you! Went here to get a tattoo after searching the internet for a good tattoo parlor around the area, I went in talked to Tom he have me portfolios of all the artists I ended up picking him to do my tattoo. He took his time to draw me up what I wanted and absolutely loved the drawing. So I got it he took his time with the tattoo and was really easy on the skin while doing the tattoo, he didn't dig into my skin so hard like some do. Took a few hours and the tattoo came out absolutely perfect. The whole staff there, they're a great bunch of guys. Its a good atmosphere and their all really good. The place is not in any way over priced I was actually shocked at how low the price was when he said it. Same type of tattoo I had cost me 400 in last place and only 200 here. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking to get a great tattoo for a VERY reasonable price. I will definitely not be going to any other place except here to get ink!!!! read more

Time was right to get this tattoo when I was reminded of Gil when people were talking about his talent on social media. Gil took such amazing care of every detail from communicating with me about my appointment and laying out the artwork (he REALLY is a gifted artist people!) and meticulously covering my new tattoo. He has a brand new baby and a 1-1/2 year old and I think his mad dad skills combined with his background in martial arts really make him incredibly sensitive to the pressure he needs to use and being overall super-conscious. That so helped me get through it late at night. His shop is so clean and professional that you feel good even when sitting for 9 hours! The conversations with the other artists there were extra entertainment lol. No question he is THE guy for any future tattoos for me. I've been coming to this shop for 3 years now and I'm never disappointed! I've recommended a couple friends to several artists here like Erik or Gill for example and they've only had good things to say about them. Some artists have been here for years and I've noticed every new artists that starts working here is always on par with the rest. I had work done by Erik earlier this year and he was very patient with the tattoo design I chose (sacred geometry aka 1,000 straight lines ) and had a very light hand during the tattoo! For sure will go back for any additional work to that piece ! I just got some lettering done by Brandon and he made sure the tattoo was the best it could possibly be by making a couple small suggestions to what I wanted and I couldn't be happier with it . After YEARS of contemplating getting a tattoo and looking for the perfect design for me I finally decided to pull the trigger. I did tons of homework talking to people and visiting shops. I decided to go to Black Rose (on a recommendation from a friend) Mike gave me an excellent feeling (I was nervous). Life got in the way and I had to put it off for a few months but I finally went in yesterday and per my expectations Mike Blu was professional, patient and informative. I was told by several other artists that the design I chose could not be done in the size I wanted. Mike spent a bit of time designing it and it was PERFECT (and I am a grandma from NYC that is not afraid to complain). Jimmy is an amazing artist with an incredible vision who can truly pull your piece together. He's very client-oriented, detail-oriented, and you can tell he puts passion into his work. When he starts prepping, he's very sanitary and pulls out brand new supplies and equipment right in front of you. As for the shop in general, it's a friendly team with a clean and welcoming atmosphere. My boyfriend drives from Orlando just to get his tattoos done at this shop, with Jimmy specifically. Plain and simple. Sister and I came in for tattoos a few months back. Small, sentimental tattoos for our mother. We stressed how we wanted unique designs. Eric took deposits from us and told us he'd call. Rudely, NEVER called back, NEVER returned phone calls. 3 weeks went by, he finally sent us an image we found on GOOGLE on page 1, lied and told us he spent all week drawing it. We never even responded, obviously he's a liar. No artistic integrity. Found another shop called No Hard Feelings and never looked back. Never even asked Eric for the money back. Lame experience. Love this place and the whole crew. Tom did a fantastic job on my tattoo. I told him what I wanted and kind of gave him artistic power, the tattoo took on a personality of its own. I was there for a few hours and was able to take in everything going on around me. They are like a family. Everyone was very nice and personable and down to earth. Very polite and knowledgeable artist. Next evening I was in and within 2 hours I had two new tattoos. They look amazing. I've done and gotten tattoos for over 20 years and this was the absolute WORST experience I've ever had! The staff was completely professional and the place was a mess. I was quote one price at the beginning then they raised it halfway through the process. When I argued about it, they refused to finish the tat. The manager /owner then told them to finish it but ordered them to purposely mess it up. It looks horrible. Like a 5 year old on crack did it. Stay away from these vile snakes! Place is pretty laid back and clean. I met the owner Gil, maybe 20 years ago when he worked at a different place. Once he opened his own shop of course I followed him over there. His work is top notch, he is a true artist, he doesn't just trace stencils. I trust him very much, you can be comfortable laying back and enjoying your music or a book. Jimmy is absolutely amazing!! I've been Back to shop twice now to fix up my celtic knots and my new celtic tree looks fantastic, his skill as an artist is like like nothing I've ever seen before and I am proud to show off the art work he's given me!
