I took my 5-yr-old to a fall show here after seeing an Event Invite on Facebook. We're interested in taking riding lessons and thought this would be a great opportunity to view young kids, my daughter's age, showing English and Western style.
My first impression was that this was a rather run-down and dumpy establishment. I expected more, after reading that they were under new management.
The "show" was loosely scheduled without any noticeable postings entailing the schedule of riders, etc. we wandered around the stables and visited with several mares and ponies before bumping into a young girl who was brushing her horse's mane and prepping for the show. We stuck around for a bit to watch a few of the shows and award announcements.
Later I talked to a friend who is in the riding industry, albeit down in Oregon. When I asked for a candid review of the stable lessons in our area, this place popped up 1st on her list of recommendations. I took it as a lesson in not judging a book based on its cover. Time will tell if it's deserving of more than 3 stars. Meanwhile, we've scheduled a lesson. read more
