I rarely give a 1 star rating but if a place deserves it, that's what they get. So when I heard about this new discount store opening on the south side of Mooresville, I felt I should check it out even though I am not a fan of discount stores in general. This place was below my expectations! The premise here is that each week, a couple semis will unload their items into aisles of bins. On Friday and Saturday, everything is only $5. They are closed on Sundays, but on Monday, the prices start decreasing. So Mondays, everything drops to $3, Tuesday to $2, Wednesday to $1, and for a couple hours on Thursday mornings, everything drops to $0.25. It sounds like an interesting concept but that is where it ends. On opening day, photos were posted of people getting 32" televisions and drones for only $5! However, all sales are final as is. If there are no instructions, you figure it out. If it simply doesn't work? Too bad. No returns. I decided to go on Monday after knowing they were closed on Sunday. What I walked into was a place where shoppers with giant carts (most left them angled in the aisles so it was hard to get by) and bins of random items: some in boxes, some without markings (but you can't open them to look.) Some items were in plastic bags and others were just loose. No sense of order. Even though there was an entire day for the staff to straighten things out or group items. No effort at all. I guess when you charge so little, they don't want to pay anyone to actually make it seem better. When I compare it to a discount place like Ollie's on the other side of town, this place makes Ollie's look like an upscale experience. There you can find things by type and orderly. Here, it's just like going to a hoarder's place and wading through it. Unless you are so desperate to spend a little bit of money, I would suggest staying away and wait for a nice garage sale. It will be interesting to see if more televisions and expensive electronics continue to show up each week of if that was just a ploy to kick off the business. By Monday, all the high end items were gone. I'm curious how long this place will last. Review #3434

Then I remembered Ollies had a ton of rugs in the back of their store. When I finally laid my eyes on them, I was shocked how low the prices were. I did find the size I was looking for but then I discovered a wild pattern that I thought would be radical enough for the 12 yr old. Sure enough she loves it. It was a 6ft by 8 ft for $29.99, Wow! Even though it was bigger than I needed, I figured out how to make it work. They do have a rewards program but I'm not enrolled because I don't shop here very often. The cashier says it offers 15% off but I don't know if that's for signing up or every day.

Exceptionally low prices as well! Only problem is that you cannot get the bright red price stickers off...not even with alcohol or nail polish remover. Not a good idea for gift giving. Too bad. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of that. They have a great variety of just about anything you're needing ...clothes, area rugs, foods, lawn care, appliances, toys, you name it. If you can find what you're looking for, grab it. Chances are you can't beat the price!

There is parallel parking on both sides of the street. If Zydeco's is busy there's additional parking to the West plus a parking lot. I love supporting small business owners who take such pride in their business. We were greeted by a very pleasant woman, and her adorable, tini poodle, Ivory, upon entering the store. She casually chatted with us as we shopped, made us feel very welcomed and was never overbearing. The store is very light, open and spacious. The front half has really sweet, affordable, home decor and a variety of jewelry. Women's clothing, shoes and dressing rooms are to the rear. She carries womens clothing from size small to plus sizes without the boutique prices. Take the time to try on clothing, if time permits, because she doesn't give refunds, only a store credit. Something More is well organized, nice groupings of home decor (mirrors, vases, candles, etc.), jewelry and cute clothing arranged by sizes. There's a furniture grouping (sofa, coffee table, etc.) as you enter but I didn't check to see if it was for sale or waiting husbands. I found some great gift items as I browsed the store and purchased a couple nice blouses. I look forward to visiting Something More when in Mooresville again. Take a few minutes to visit if your in the area.

Today I bought another belt because my waist keeps getting smaller from weight loss and a Western style shirt. The shirt was only half of the price of the newer Western shirts too. FYI: They have fitting rooms and mirrors scattered throughout the store. My sister shops here as well for her husband's and son's work clothes, jeans and work T-shirts. Those three guys are hard on work clothes so she's here often. She has been a loyal customer for years so that's one reason I started coming here after moving back to Indiana from Arizona.
