He creates something out of the pile of ideas I send him and never disappoints. He curates a welcoming and relaxing environment and doesn't fail to keep his hand relatively light and the experience short. It's all your own preference, but I never feel as though I am alone through the process, he has the ability to make conversation with a wall or just be the wall. I have first-hand seen him interact with unexpected costumers and been touched by how he can kindly answer questions that might seem obvious to others. I can't wait to work with him again. He is a Fantastic tattoo artist, and artist in general. I love how he takes the time to discuss what you really are looking for in your tattoo. He then takes all that information and draws out the perfect custom tattoo that you will absolutely love, and then tattoos it on you with such precision and accuracy that it will really blow you away. His lines are so clean, and water shading is pretty damn perfect. He is very focused on his work and will not let you leave with a tattoo that he/you won't like. The new studio is also beautiful, it's located in the old firehouse building that has almost completely been restored. The studio has two large windows that actually used to be the garage doors to the fire truck bays. They let in a lot of natural light and give you something to look at while you're being tattooed. The studio is also filled with a lot of really interesting art, mostly paintings, and always has good music playing. It's really a relaxing and creative environment. The shop is also very clean, and James is very good about making sure things are sanitized. I have almost two full sleeves completely done by him, and definitely plan on getting more until I don't have any more room left on me!
