The team here was able to squeeze me in last minute for a bootfitting (I had an appointment earlier at another store in Teton Village who told me they didn't have the brands that would fit my feet). And after about 1 hour of heating the boot and molding it to accommodate my navicular, Will had set me up with an awesome pair of Salomon BOA ski boots that are arguably the best-fitting shoes I own. What a delight these boots were on the slopes last week: Zero foot pain. Will even made great sock recommendations that ensured dryness and comfort. I couldn't be happier with my new ski boots, and it was all thanks to Will. Next, I needed new ski goggles, and Ali at the front was incredibly helpful and knowledgable. She recognized that a low bridge fit might be more suitable for my face. Ali definitely came through, and these made a huge difference last week with the snow storms, as the ability to easily swap out lenses magnetically on my Smith goggles ensured the best visibility. I was so impressed with the team here at JHS and made a few more trips back to the shop throughout my week in Jackson Hole. Everyone there was incredibly professional providing great service, and the store stocks the best brands and the quality of their goods was world-class.

After the show, there's a bit of a wait, but the dark gondola ride down with the town lit up below was very fun. There was food & drink & some shopping options. Took the Gondola to the top of the mountain and I'm glad I did. I don't think I've ever been on top…read moreof a mountain before per se but this was a pretty cool experience. The gondola ride is operated by Snow King resorts, my only complaint is that I kept finding conflicting information on the hours in which the gondola operated. Even on the website I saw information that said it operated until 5:00 pm but then when I went to buy tickets in person I was told that tickets bought after 5 pm was $15. So hours of operation could be more clear, I came around 3 pm and did not feel like waiting 2 hours to get the discounted tickets. So, I paid a total of $35. The carts just move in a constant loop around the mountain. Once you pay for your ticket you'll get a receipt you'll have to use it to scan into the gate to get onto the ride. The carts aren't heated but I found them to be a decent size. The ride to the top is less than 10 mins- probably closer to 7- 8 mins. Once to the top there's different trails you can walk. I decided to stay close to the gondola because I was by myself and I had no bear/ pepper spray!! Despite not wondering off too far I still found great solace on the mountain and the views were amazing. I think it was a $35 well spent, would definitely do it again!

I moved the toe cap one hole over to get through the day but climbed into this shop to buy a replacement since I had such a good experience last time around. And guess what? They're still awesome. Cody replaced my strap and noticed my binding placements were unbalanced and had a few suggestions. After having me step in to them to take a look, he centered my bindings. All this for a $5 part. They clearly care about snowboarding and want people to have a good time on the mountain. My sister was looking to demo the Burton step on bindings and he talked us through it too. I think we'll hold off on those but because of his obvious enthusiasm we chatted further and got recommendations for new boards. We'll definitely be back!

I needed some shoes and this place was recommended by a different store that didn't have the…read moreselection I was looking for. Luckily, for me, I didn't have to shop any more after this because JD High Country Outfitters had a large selection of women's shoes and I found two pairs I actually liked a lot. I thought the pricing was fair for the area and the high end nature of the shoes. I bought a pair of Sorrel waterproof sneakers for $120. They were marked up about $35 more than Sorrel's website which is about normal for retailers like this. The only real problem I had was with the service here. I tried my best to not get mad but I was fuming by the end of this experience. I'll try to give them some grace and say that maybe I wasn't forward enough in pushing other people out of the way to get them to bring me shoes from downstairs but a place with great customer service wouldn't need that. I also can say well, they were young men, who didn't seem to care about their jobs but again, why work here if you don't want to help people.
