I have always been a rather athletic person; a cheerleader in High School, an avid BodyBuilder…read morethereafter, and then, illness struck and I lost all of my muscle. At 5'7" and only 120lbs, I was scrawny and weak. I'd always focused on building muscle, and previous to my illness, I had it in the right places and believed that meant that I was building muscle correctly. WRONG. I was injuring myself and didn't even know it; my scoliosis had gotten SO bad over the years, and with all of the bulky muscle to mask it, I didn't really notice how twisted I'd gotten. Then came the shoulder injury, to make matters worse. When trying to recover from illness & rebuilding muscle, it simply wasn't working. I couldn't seem to get my strength back and I couldn't perform a pushup to save my life. I had all but given up on my (still young - late 20's) body when a friend pointed me to Tina & Johnny at TF. MY LIFE WAS SAVED, Y'ALL! I'd NEVER worked out barefoot (just the thought made me cringe and I didn't understand why anyone wouldn't wear shoes while working out) and didn't understand what it meant to be a "Balanced Athlete". Upon meeting the team, and running through an initial evaluation, Tina explained a very simple concept to me that turned the lightbulb on and changed my life forever "Imagine your hands being stuffed in mittens, and then thicker, rubber mittens, all day, every day, for your entire life. When you removed the mittens at the end of the day, would you be able to type? Brush your teeth? Start your car?" I thought.. well... no. They'd be SO stiff! She went on to explain that our feet are just like our hands (I'm thinking, duh, how did I not know that), and we've been doing that mitten thing to them FOREVER! My feet had no muscle, my ankles had no stability, and I was pigeon-toed.. why? Because SHOES had been cramping my style for my whole life, and my body didn't know how to hold it's self up! After only a few sessions with TF, I was no longer pigeon-toed, I was no longer rolling my ankles, and MY BODY WAS BACK! I'd never been stronger than when I trained with TF, and I'll NEVER forget the lessons they taught me. I'm more capable, stable, happy, and healthy than I've ever been, and I'm NEVER going back to "traditional" training again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Tina is extremely good at what she does- she's insistent on proper form and is well educated on the types of exercises that should be done for specific concerns. Overall I am very happy with my training with Tina.

Eventually, after training Fidget at home for a while and other training, I decided to train her as a service dog for my social anxiety which is recognized by the ADA as a disability. Working privately with Michael has been amazing. I couldn't believe how much his knowledge about dogs has made such a huge difference in Fidget. The change after just one lesson was evident. I've learned that the e-collar isn't a punishment but rather just a tool to get her attention. Kind of like a tap on the shoulder. With my continuing the training at home and Michael, she's mastered walking on a loose leash, focusing on me versus her surroundings, recall, disregarding other dogs, the necessary tasks to be a service dog and earned her CGC and CGCA. We will soon be starting Advanced Training.

Finn our mobility support service dog had his first airplane experience last weekend. We had no issues at all on the plane or anywhere else. He mastered elevators, moving sidewalks, UBER rides, getting climbed on by toddlers and lots of crowds. It was a great experience for all three of us and many more to come. Thank you and your team for changing our lives
