I'm a recent fan of Black & White's coffee so I was excited to give their airport cafe a try. You can order from a kiosk or you can go up to the staff and order. We used the kiosk and it was easy and quick. We got two breakfast sandwiches ($18), a latte ($7), and a cortado ($5). The coffee was delicious, as always. The breakfast sandwiches were okay. I would say they are filling but don't have too much flavor. The staff were very nice and got our food out quickly (though we were there at 4am). All in all, it's a good option for coffee and breakfast in terminal 2. read more

What the heck is it with airport coffee places? Local or brand-name. The coffee is barely above mediocre and overpriced. I get that the cost for a lease in an airport is high, but is that an excuse to serve crappy coffee? It always seems to taste like cheap coffee watered down because they want to save money. I expect better because B&W's other locations can do it right. I will say the employees here are nice enough, so that helps. A lot. Because most customers are busy moving to or from their gate, they aren't paying attention to the overpriced colored water they have in their hands. FYI to B&W mgmt: When I pay cash, I expect to get change. Don't tell me you don't have cash in your register. I'm not leaving an extraordinarily high double-digit tip because you can't pay your employees better. Keep your coffee. At least at your RDU location. read more

Briefly heard about this NC chain and checked out their drinks before boarding my flight! I definitely should have picked 2 shots instead of 1 to improve my latte ratio. Coffee flavors were stronger than expected, nevertheless. The hot coffee had a nice bright acidity. The cookies were pretty standard. The blue cornmeal had a nice subtle corn flavors. They DO NOT KNOW how to make coffee. Americanos and expressos are light brown! When asked the employee said they use a light roast and would not refund . Never again . Don't waste your money only to pour what you paid for down the drain. read more

4.5 stars. I never imagined writing a review for an airport coffee shop, but this one deserved the shoutout. Yes, I paid $7+ for a flavored latte, but it's not that much more than a certain global coffeeshop chain that offers disappointing burnt coffee every time. I am so happy to see a local small business in RDU right next to La Farm and across from Scott Crawford's new dining spot. Black and White serves up delicious coffee drinks, pastries with bread from Union Station, and items to grab and go. I have had the BLT and it was fresh and made with local ingredients. I see lots of bad reviews here. I came on a Tuesday afternoon around 1 pm and the airport is pretty empty. I ordered a coffee from the kiosk and, within a minute or two, someone called my name and the coffee was ready. I also received a text confirming it was ready. ***FOOD: This is for the B& W at the airport location. CHAI LATTE - good but it took them so long and the servers had a side of attitude. They were SO unbelievably slow in making the drink. Have you seen the movie Zootopia where the main characters are at the DMV and the employees are so unbelievably slow at doing anything. It's like watching them in super slow mo. Basically Surly & Slow SIDE NOTE- their menu is on the wrong side of the counter. When facing the counter, the menu board & all the bakery items are located/ pushed all the way to the right side of the shop, but you order at the counter on the left side of the shop. This layout forces you to have to walk over to right side of the store if you aren't familiar with what drinks, they have and the prices. This setup forces you to have to walk over to the right side of the store to see the baked goods and then walk back to the left side of the store where the cash register and "take your order" area is. I did this and the guy behind me thought I was leaving without ordering anything, then I popped back to the ordering/cashier area to actually place my order. Big fan of black and white. This new location is totally different from the proper Black and White Coffee shops. They use automatic machine ( maybe to serve faster but everyone are waiting like 8-15min for their coffee even with automatic machines ) Can order macchiato or flat white or anything outside their menu. Coffee is still better than starbucks but definitely its not as good as proper espresso on proper e61 machines. The cappuccino i got felt diluted understandable on automatic machines. Food is pretty bad, we got a turkey egg and cheese sandwhich(pictured) and a coconut milk yogurt parfait. Sandwich was burnt and couldn't taste much other than the burnt bread. Parfait yogurt might be milk lol (not actually just super liquidy) also got coffees. Much better than the food but still extremely mediocre and priced like it would be high quality. If you've ever been to Starbucks and ordered a coffee and thought "This isn't overroasted and bitter enough for me" then Black and White Coffee might be the place for you! I honestly dont understand *how* a cup of coffee can be made so poorly yet here we are? The oat milk latte I ordered was undrinkable. I managed to choke down a few sips because it's 5 am and I'm at the airport and needed caffeine to get me by but I should've just waited for the coffee on the flight. Anything would have been better than this. The crazy part is my daughter said her earl gray tea was also super bitter. To top it all off, they overfill the cups no matter what you request and everyone had to dump coffee out in order to add creamer. Then to add insult to injury even the chocolate croissant was bitter (they had to have used bittersweet chips which is just.....) and served so cold as to be almost frozen. Don't waste your time and money! We arrived at RDU for our flight this morning and sadly Le Farm wasn't open yet so we went to B&W! What an absolute waste of money. Chocolate croissant was tasteless and rubbery, the cappuccino was bitter, bagel sandwich came out with a half cooked egg and cold sausage. The only thing they managed to get right was the bottled water was cold. For $28.00 and a wait time of almost 20 minutes we should have just waited for LeFarm to open because now we are in their line to get good food and coffee. What a shame! read more

This place had some of the best customer service I've experienced. The barista was not only skilled but also very courteous. The interior was spotless and smelled like freshly brewed coffee. I ordered a hazelnut latte and it was full of flavor without being overpowering. Everything was presented with care, from the drink to the napkin holder. Highly recommend! read more

They gave me coffee when I cannot have it and when I went to take it back, I was trying to explain what happened so that the persons coffee I was given would not go without and the manager was rude to me for no reason!!! The sandwiches at this place are a bit pricey ($10!) but honestly this was one of the best breakfasts I've had at any airport ever and better than the vast majority of non-airport cafes. I texted my wife how annoyed I was at the price of the sandwich and then followed up with a text that I wasn't so annoyed now that I'm eating it. The hot unflavored latte was fantastic and reasonably priced. If you're ok spending $15-20 on breakfast for one person (which I recognize is pretty costly but I'm from NYC so not uncommon), this place is a great option.
