I use Wallingford and sometimes North Haven. I've been a member for years. I do not know why because each visit I find very frustrating. Most of the time there is no paper in the gas station pumps. I check my receipts so it's a nuisance for me to have to go to the attendant each time. Also, since I pay dearly for a membership, I feel I should be entitled to any discounts without needing to clip coupons or check online for sales or use their app. I'm done. I'm finally cutting the cord and will not renew. I'm sticking with my Costco membership even though the locations are not as convenient. 100% better! read more

I had a subscription to BJ's and I bought 4 tires that came with the road hazard warranty etc. About a year later I hit a deep pothole and cut the tire. I called BJ's tire center and the said I had a pro rated coverage..which I know to be an industry standard. I go to BJ's to pay my portion and ordered the tire because it was out of stock. When the tire came in, I went to drop my car off, and they asked for my BJ's card. Well, it had expired and I had no plans to renew. They refused to mount the tire, or give it to me to do myself without a valid membership. Now, when I bought the tires there was no mention of continued membership to facilitate the warranty! A warranty is a warranty. It should have nothing to do with my membership. I had to go to the counter and renew my membership to get my warranty tire. I think that's a form of extortion. read more

In this age of COVID19, I do NOT feel safe in this store. No disinfection wipes at the door to wipe down your cart, and no one to monitor how many enter or to deny entry to those not wearing a mask. Employees were stocking shelves with their mask around their neck, standing among customers. That does no good at all. 3 women customers were freely walking around with no masks on. When I asked the manager about it, I was told he would not ask them to leave. He said He would deal with it, but when I asked how, he said he could not tell me. His mask was only covering his mouth, NOT his nose. He refused to confront the women and said they probably had a medical excuse. ALL 3 OF THEM?? Upon leaving the store I noticed the only hand sanitizer station in the store was empty! If you want to shop SAFELY at a wholesale club, do NOT shop at B's. Try COSTCO. This is a review of the tire shop. I popped a fire and was looking for someone to replace them as soon as possible. They were able to get me in next day and had my tires in stock. I was pumped. I made the appointment for 9am and was told I would be in and out in 45 mins and that would have left me plenty of time to get to work on time. It's 10:30am and my car is the only one here. Still on the lift and literally no tires or wheels on it. There seems to only be one employee here and he keeps having to stop what he's doing to speak with anyone who comes in. They were straight forward in terms of what was good for my car and I got a great price but I'm supremely annoyed by how long this is taking. Why would you have one person working? read more

We frequently do our bulk shopping here for household goods especially (paper towels, kleenex, shampoo and more). The store is well organized and tidy. Usually good deals on pricing, and it's certainly convienient for me to not have buy things as frequently. I'll be continuing to shop here. read more

B.J.s is great place to bargain hunt...I've found Jones of New York, Liz Claiborne, etc....all for really good prices. Their grocery department is awesome. Great prices for produce AND their meats (particularly their tenderloin) are wonderful! you can find great prices for paper products, groceries, produce...definitely worth checking out AND paying the annual fee! read more

I do not know, if it were just me only, the Bj's looks cheap and disorganized, when compared to Costco. This Bj's is right there close to my house. I still would drive 40 mile to Costco. When you shop at Bj's, you feel tired of the organization of goods. I do like the Costco with a dining place. It makes you feel to go with your kids and family. read more

Just joined BJs with a promotion- $25 for the year. Very convenient for bulk paper goods and excellent selection of cheeses (fresh mozarella, sliced cheese, feta), snacks, candy, and baked goods. Lots of very good brand name items. It will also be perfect for party & event shopping to feed a crowd. read more

This company, BJ's, seriously needs to decide if it wants to sell things or waste peoples' time. I got a free 60 day membership trial flyer in the mail in December. I wasn't able to make it down there to try the place out, but I had it in the car today when I was about 20 minutes away. I visited, only to find out that the coupon had expired as of 12/31/12, and they people would do nothing to about it. They didn't let me try the place out, despite the fact that I had driven out of my way to check things out. I got the same response when I called their customer service department to explain the situation. With the economy the way it is, the price of gas as high as it is, do they really need to get prissy about getting someone to check out one of their stores? I didn't ask them for the free trial, they sent it to me. Shouldn't a retailer be happy to get a new customer? I mean really! read more
