i shop at Aldiss for a few things instead of Walmart they are friendly i can go in and out within minutes more cheaper

We shop here because the food is cheap and they have the majority of the things we need, though we almost always need to stop at another store to supplement the things that they don't carry. Unfortunately we have to check our produce super carefully because this location seems to have a lot more spoiled produce than other grocery stores. The service isn't great. I don't normally need to interact with anyone, but everyone always seems to be in a hurry to get out. I went in with my husband a half hour before closing to grab a few things. We're always mindful to get out before closing. They were already cleaning the floors and they were waiting for me to move so they could clean the spot I was standing in. It made me feel super uncomfortable as I was rushing to find the item I was looking for (which they ended up not having). And one of the workers was loudly yelling every few minutes how many minutes there were until closing. I definitely got the feeling that I wasn't welcome there! read more

I just moved to the area and had been to the ALDIs in Vernon, which wasn't too bad. But I was going to Walmart and thought I would stop in this one on my way back. Well, this one has limited stock, and things are hard to find. The cashier on my way out was rude and had a real "we don't like yer (sic) kind 'round here" vibe. No need to return to this one, when I can go to Price Chopper which seems much closer to home. read more

I have to say I have yet to find something from Aldi that I do not like. Shopping here is quick esp considering there is only one brand of each item for the most part, so you just grab and go. The store is small to keep grocery prices low and always very clean. I have tried everything from the chicken to the frozen pizzas and everything is comparable to your normal well known brands. Multiple times I have seen people shocked at how cheap the milk is, about $1.30 for a gallon, that's unheard of at your normal grocery store. Looking at my receipt from today nothing cost above $4, and I purchased things like ground turkey, prosciutto, mozz cheese and tons of vegetables mostly organic! Very affordable! A tip for when checking out: the cashier will fill the cart next to them with your items and after you pay you replace that cart with the one you were using to shop and then go bag your groceries at the counter. This was confusing my first time here. Don't forget a quarter for a shopping cart( you get it back when you return your cart) and don't forget reusable grocery bags! read more

Very nice Aldi that was clean and had a fast moving line. I found many of the same products I find locally which was nice. Sometimes, you can never find an item again at Aldi which can be frustrating. It was busy but never felt cramped and the line to check out while long went fast. Tuna was a great price here, much lower than at my local Aldi. Too bad I'm not in the area very often or I'd be going there to get groceries. The parking lot was a bit confusing. You can't go out the same way you went in and there aren't really signs pointing on the route out. read more

Aldi is awesome for some products! Not only are they affordable, they offer organic options at a great price too! Aldi places aren't huge buy I've learned what things to get from here over time. I come here for: veggies (bell peppers, tomatoes on vine, zucchini, asparagus), fruits (grapes, avocado, grapefruit), bread/wraps, snacks, canned/frozen stuff for back up. I like how I can be in and out in less than 30 min each time as I'm familiar with the layout and where everything is. It's never crowded either which is always a plus. Sometimes there are things that would catch my eye to try, and could be a hit or miss at times. I typically don't like the yogurt I've tried here. Certain things we prefer getting them at Costco like milk, watermelon, and meat. Their system with the cart is very efficient. Insert a quarter to get the cart and get the best quarter back when you return it. Sometimes when I don't have a quarter or just need a few items, I just get an empty box and hold my few items that way. Be sure to bring reusable canvas bags or insulated grocery bags! Plastic bags are extra. All about cost saving right here. read more

This is a great store, of course the Aldi chain has a great way of selling items for lower cost. But often a gallon of milk is less than $1.50 here it's crazy. Not the best Aldi in the world so 4 stars it is. read more

I was so glad when I found out that there was an Aldi near UConn. Aldi, by far, has the cheapest prices while still maintaining the highest standards in food quality. It's also nice that the store is located so close to Wal-Mart. I, too, wish they had fresh fish, but hey, beggars can't be choosers. Also, it's kind of unfortunate that it's not located in downtown Willimantic and thus not accessible using the Storrs-Willimantic bus (which is free for UConn students). read more

I love the new style of Aldi. The fruit is so cheap and I find everything I want there.

As a shopper, I love Aldi's and they have great prices. However, I observed If one is a nice student, or nice other who does not look like a member of "the brady bunch" in ethnicity, you will not ever get hired there. It seems the only people the manager considers and hires are white, for there is never any type of minority person working there. This information is based on what I and many others have observed, even information from rejected and hired applicants. Minorities need jobs too and want to contribute with tax paying dollars, especially students with limited jobs available and surrounded by rual towns it is especially hard. Descrimination is not right and it is illegal. read more

Finally they opened Aldi in this area. Today was opening day and everything is so nice and organized. Watch out Wal-Mart!!! Prices here are really good and groceries are nice and fresh not Price Rite kind. They have the cheapest milk, sour cream, cheese, avocados. I just wish they would sell fresh fish and other sea food, but maybe that will change. read more

The new help ( 2 young girls) make it almost unbearable to pay for your groceries. They are rude, abrupt and have never uttered the words please or thank you. All the men that work there and the managers have manners but these 2 need to go back to grade school and learn some manners. read more

I went there after an out of state friend said that the Aldi store near them ( Illinios ) was wonderful. I had never shopped Aldis so I checked it out. This is what I found.....1.) Poor, Poor , Poor quality produce. 2.) A small selection on every item...few choices. 3.) Almost no meat on the shelves....And the prices are not so low for the quality..(or lack there of )..of what they offer. GO TO PRICE RITE on Cantor Dr. in Willimantic. That store has everything that you need and GREAT PRICES !!! I was steered there by my sister who shops smart. The prices will cut your grocery bill in half if you compare them to Stop and Shop or Price Chopper. read more
