I should have noticed this, but they were so caked with dirt (ok and dried manure) I did not. Before I took them to Dawsons, I bought another pair (won't even tell you what I paid for them) but after wearing them once at the barn realized the heel was too high. I was leaving for a trip and begged to have them early despite the store's clearly visible posted time of response. Fast forward a few weeks. I miss the deadline due to flight delays, then I got sick. So basically, Dawsons put a rush on the job for me, which wasn't even necessary. He cleaned up my disgusting boots so he could repair them, made them look like new, and made the other boots wearable. When I sheepishly arrived late, the owners were gracious. I need to send them flowers. Signed, Idiotic but Very Satisfied Customer.

I love the smell of the fresh leather when I walk in the door! I have been taking the same pair of Italian leather dress shoes there for over 15 years for wear and tear refurbishing. Upon picking up my boots a was disappointed to see loose sloppy stitching, glue being used to hold parts of the boot together, and just overall poor craftsmanship. About three weeks after getting these boots back the repair is separating in places due to the glue not holding and the loose stitches are starting to tear. Also wanted to add that they were poorly re-dyed which I did not agree to. Disappointing because I had heard nothing but good things about this place. Do not recommend.

I tried on THREE different occasions to drop my shoes off to be restitched. They were never there. The store hours are clearly displayed in the store front, but they don't seem to mean anything. The lights were off and the door was locked at 1pm (when they're supposed to be open until 5:00). I would have understood if there was some sort of emergency, but there wasn't even a sign up to explain their absence. So...I took my business to Dawson Shoe Repair on South 8th street.

"Repair" took about 2 weeks, and this guy is hard to track down. Hours were never consistent with posted hours. Upon pickup of shoes, eyelets got sewn on as requested but apparently the laces "were too confusing" to lace up so he didn't do that. Ok... well you did charge $25 bucks for this repair, so you'd expect partial refund/sorry but didn't get any of that. So, I took my shoe home and googled "how to lace quicklaces" and followed the first youtube video... took me about 15 minutes to do. It's a little frustrating when you pay for something, then have to end up doing the work yourself.
