I've been to Pausa on separate occasions for dinner and a bunch of times for happy hour (spritz…read morehour). Dinner was fine, but if you can make it in time, go for happy hour! We always get the margherita pizza and when we want some protein, the meatballs are a good option. We have had some of their seasonal pizzas but the margherita is really tried and true. They also have a combo meat and cheese board (pick 2 of each), which is well worth it if you want a little bit of both, and the pairings that come with it. I always request the porchetta as one of my meat options. The staff is very attentive and the ambiance inside is kind of dark, moody and classy. They have a lovely bar but we prefer to sit outside on their patio. They do have heat lamps in case it gets chilly.

We were greeted at the door with a "happy anniversary!" and it was printed on our menu as well :) Small touches and personalization really do go a long way. I love the casual yet upscale vibe of the place, and my in-laws commented on what a great choice of restaurant it was! The noise level was just busy enough with white noise without it being overly noisy. Our waitress was so friendly without being overbearing, and timing was great (checked in enough, not too much). We got the Chef's Board 3-piece to start - had a great variety! My in-laws split the Pizza Margherita (crust was similar to what we had in Florence!), my mom and I got the Papardelle (mine was a bit overcooked, but I also love mine super al dente, so just a personal preference) and my husband's Toasted Semolina Ravioli was a little *too* al dente for his taste, so if we'd switched, it would've been perfect! My dad got the Top Sirloin that was very tender. For cocktails, I got the Amore Proibito which was like a gimlet with a kiwi cordial, yum! My husband got one of the featured negronis for Negroni Week! Overall, 4.5/5 stars Would come again for another special occasion!

Rosa is basically pepperoni pizza sprinkled with basil. You paid $2 extra for the basil. Stick with pepperoni next time. Hot Honey is basically. Pepperoni and sausage Pizza drizzled with honey. Not sure if the "hot" in the hot honey refer to spice or temperature. But, boy, the combo work. Would love to hear how this came together. The sweetness of the honey just elevated the salty pepperoni and sausage! Excellent. Caprese Salad. This was good also. Just expensive for 5 slices of mozzarella. $12. Was most disappointed by two things: 1.) that their website was refusing orders for delivery (through thanx.com platform) and yet somehow I was able to go through doordash and (of course) pay an extra $25 on top of the already-high-then-even-higher costs on doordash; 2.) oh yeah they completely forgot to include the wings I ordered which kinda screwed up the whole plan since one of the diners was counting on that for their dinner. Had the 20 inch pepperoni and a Detroit style. Like I said, pizza was decent but the Detroit one was definitely not. I think I may just have learned I'm not a fan of Detroit style pizza. So fluffy, and wet on top. No thank you. In summary, I'd say "yes" for another slice but maybe if I just happen to be cruising around Belmont. And I paid $120 for two pizzas. (Full disclosure dd refunded the wings but that doesn't really rectify a planned meal gone sideways.) Luckily the 49ers were kicking ass again so our spirits remained high nevertheless.

Happy mode. They have slice, 12 inch to kingkong size of 24 inch. It is not that large place but has indoor seating. It was bit warm inside. The worker was very friendly and very helpful. There are plenty topping you can choose from and I chose chicken pesto based on recommendation from the worker and it was a right choice. It took a while for the pizza to be ready and I am surprised to see the size of the slice. It is a generous size. The pizza was so yummy and I love thin pizza. Will stop by again for other topping.

It's a bit unassuming from the outside but totally fine to dine in. The person that helped us at the counter was nice! A slice was like $7.00 or so but they were HUGE. I had to use a fork and knife (which was kind of useless because the plastic ones they give you are a bit too weak for these large pizzas). I saved some for later and it reheated nicely. Mine was the Greek salad pizza since it was the only one that was obviously white pizza. I liked it! It tasted fresh and I liked the flavor. The dough was quite chewy at parts and there was a nice crunch to the crust. I did think there was too much crust at times (as in the sauce should have extended further out) but it was still edible. I would come back!

We really enjoyed being able to walk around the beautiful downtown area before and after dinner. When we first looked at the menu, the three of us weren't quite sure what to expect. We were in the mood for something a little more "meaty," and Centro seemed to be more about simple, homestyle Italian food with quality ingredients. We even wondered if we were going to leave full. We were completely wrong! Everything was DELICIOUS, and we left very satisfied. We had the Centro Chopped Salad with romaine, artichoke hearts, cherry tomatoes, garbanzo beans, red onion, salami, pepperoncini, provolone, and lemon mustard vinaigrette. So fresh and flavorful! We also had a wood-fired pizza with pepperoni, and the dough was amazing -- you can really taste the difference in a good wood-fired crust. We also tried the rigatoni pasta, which rounded out the meal perfectly. What impressed us most was the combination of quality, simplicity, and value. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food, and the service was excellent as well. Centro Pizza was a wonderful surprise and a great ending to our Labor Day weekend. Sometimes simple Italian food done really well is exactly what you need. We would definitely come back the next time we're in Burlingame!

Having said that, the accompanying tomato sauce was really tasty! As for the pie, we went with the diavola which is essentially a margherita with nduja sausage which gives it a little bit of smoke and heat. The ndjua caught my eye because it's not a very common ingredient and it was quite tasty. They could have been more generous with the basil though. Idk why most places make basil an afterthought. If I had anything to criticize, there were a few burnt spots that weren't as appetizing to chew on but it was few and far in between. All in all, would come back!

The server was kind and gave me his recommendation of which pie he would get. I think it was something that I wouldn't really like so I ended up getting something else. I felt bad after I went out of my way to ask but I appreciated his choice. I decided on getting the small pepperoni pie. The wait time was between 15 and 25 minutes so I decided to go for a quick drive and come back. There are seats if you want to dine in but I decided to eat it fresh at home since I'm not too far. The pizza was delicious. It didn't have a crazy cheese pull but the was good balance between the sauce and cheese. There was no excess oil when folding the pizza and the cheese didn't slide off so bonus points there. My biggest issue is price. $18 for a small pizza is kind of ridiculous. It's about the size of a Pizza Hut individual pie so that was a bit surprising for me. At the same time though, I guess you have to consider the area. I'll have to see if you get more value when you size up your pizza next time. If so, I would probably lean towards that route. Good pizza overall.
