Everything was cooked perfectly and it was spaced out so we didn't feel rushed. Our waiter was super friendly and even told us we could purchase a bottle that we could bring up to the room. On a Wednesday night there was about 4 tables including us. Definitely recommend getting the scallops. They were DELICIOUS. Also the restaurant itself was very classy. Will definitely be coming back.

Slow! Waiting over one hour for food.

Second time and service is slow! We have waited one hour for appetizer and food. Afraid no time for dessert before show. Hopefully we get our food.

Tried this for Valentines dinner. It was very good. Staff was very professional and polite. Valentines menu had many great choices. I ultimately chose pecan chicken and my single barrel salmon. Both were very delicious

We stopped by on a comfortable summer evening when Bix had live music out on their patio. It was lovely! I ordered the avocado BLT which was HUGE and so delicious! Hubby had the black tie burger and thought it was great. We'll definitely be back to sit on the patio again!

There is a problem when I spend $50 and leave a restaurant still hungry. This is an example of the tough economy and how shrinkflation is limiting the amount of food we can get. The taste is impeccable and this would've been a 4 star review. However, when I had to go to Target to get more groceries because I was still hungry, I had to give a 3 star review.

Bix Bistro for date night was a huge success. I loved the location, loved the decor and the service. There is not a very huge selection but I will let you know exactly what is a must try foods. For starters we got the mushrooms filled with cod and crab I'm not a huge fan of fish, but I could not taste the fish or smell it so that was a win. Second I ordered the black hawk salad the dressing was out of this world and third my husband got the salmon which was cooked perfectly. Dessert was my favorite we got cheesecake nothing that exciting but the COCONUT PANNA COTTA was AMAZING! If I could give this place more stars I would in a heartbeat.

Wasn't overly obsessed. We enjoyed our meal and beverages but definitely wouldn't choose here over somewhere else for similar quality.

Heavy metal vibes and ice cold beers…read more Needing a break from the afternoon shenanigans, we walked over to Stompbox Brewing after checking out the Skybridge for a quick drink. We didn't exactly plan to visit it this early into the day but since it was right there, we figured it was the perfect time to check it out so we didn't have to backtrack. Upon walking in, I knew I was in my place. I am a big fan of hard rock and heavy metal and this place oozed with tributes and references to many metal bands and songs. But, it doesn't beat you over the head with it too much and has a restaurant/bar vibe going as well. Emily and I took a table and ordered some drinks while we took this place in. We didn't have late lunch plans but knew we wanted to keep exploring before eating and settling in for the day, so we stuck with just beer here. The food menu did look pretty good and the hot pretzel bites did sound like the perfect accompaniment to our beer but maybe next time. I grabbed the Hefe Metal and Emily got a flight of beers. Her choices were: Devils Made Me Brew It, Flood Insurance, When the Levee Breaks, and Peach Fuzz. I really enjoyed my Hefe Metal and grabbed a can of it to go. Emily really liked the When the Levee Breaks but, in general, liked all her beers but the Devils. When we first took a sip, it was really good but at the halfway point, the beer started to smell and taste like a dirty gym locker room. She let me have the honors of putting the rest of it down. While we were relaxing and having our beers, we saw they had stickers and some sweet shirt designs. The stickers were only $1, so we grabbed two of each. There was a shirt design we both really liked but only mine was in stock. Emily was okay with that since one of the stickers had the design on it, too. Shirts were $25 a piece. Since we were only here for a quick stop, I'll keep this short. The beer for the most part was delicious. The people working were super friendly and the vibe of the place was killer. Between here, Wake Brewing, and Raccoon Motel, I'm starting to think the Quad Cities has a pretty solid heave metal scene... which is pretty frickin' a in my book. I'd highly suggest Stompbox Brewing if you need a place to grab a beer and do some light headbanging.

One of the appetizers was a morel mushroom soup which was downright exquisite. They also had a 30 oz lightly smoked lobster tail. We didn't get that but noticed several people did and it looked amazing. There is a range of seafood, beef, chicken, duck, etc.; all with interesting presentations. And the desserts are great too. We had the carrot cake and a chocolate chip cookie with toppings. The cookie was about 6 inches in diameter! Duck City Bistro is an all around fun time with great food and epic presentations. We dined on February 13th-we were excited, as our reservation was made due to an enthusiastic review of a friend. There was a bit of a show from the owner when he was introducing the featured items, which we found endearing. The drinks were good, although hardly uniform, as multiple people in our party ordered the same drink but they were served in different glasses with varying levels of alcohol. The menu was heavy on the steak and seafood, and there were no prices listed. We ordered the duck (signature dish) and the crab legs. No mention from the waitress on any pricing (and shame on us for not asking). The meal was good, although nothing outstanding. We were happy with our experience until the bill came. The crab legs alone were $300!!! Our jaws hit the floor. We have dined in many upscale restaurants (Manhattan, Miami, Chicago) and we have NEVER paid close to that price tag for crab legs. We spoke to the owner Jerry, and he issued excuse after excuse. He stated that he paid "$100 per pound" and our order consisted of 1.5 pounds...so we were up-charged $150?! He was incredibly defensive and non-apologetic regarding our experience. Our take home point to him was if you're going to charge that amount of money for a singular menu item, you need to disclose the price when people order. Our bill was over $500 for mediocre food and left us with such a poor experience. That's more than we spend on an entire month dining out. We felt swindled and taken advantage of. Shame on us for not asking the price, and shame on Jerry and this restaurant for charging such an outrageous price for a menu item. BEWARE!!! We will never eat here again-largely because of the terrible response we got from the owner when we expressed our frustration and the lack of transparency with the menu.
