This was our first visit to Bitesize and I am elated it went so well! ALL staff were friendly informative and professional. The place is clean and kid friendly. My 5 year old even said he wish he could come everyday lol Parking was fairly easy I think because of the hour I went (4pm) not sure if its always that way though because the area gets alot of traffic from the BQE. Overall the place was amazing and the wait time was normal about 10-15min before getting seen. We switched over from another neighborhood dentist and this place is AMAZING for kids. They have little gifts galore. Starting with booking the appointment, the receptionist was incredibly nice. The place on President and 4th that we were switching from had very availability perhaps because fewer doctors see children and they also see adults. However, Bitesize specialize in children so they had availability even for the same week and a great deal of availability for after school hours as well. The location is right in front of B63 bus stops making it very convenient to get to. The dental hygienist was very helpful showing me and my son how to brush and floss efficiently. Not only was Dr. Malhotra wonderful with my 3 y/o daughter, but his dental assistant Brittany was so patient and friendly that my daughter made 2 new friends. I just called this place and tried to make an appointment but the receptionist was probably not having a good day and was very rude. It's the first time I was trying to make a dentist appointment for my toddler, and I made that clear but she was not helpful and the way she handled the conversation and questions discouraged me half way through the phone call to even try to visit the place. This is long overdue. My kids have been going to this place for 2 maybe 3 years now. It's a win win for both parents & children. I love the efficiency - longest I've ever waited is 5 minutes. As soon as you're called, the hygienist get to work immediately. My kids love the decor - TV during cleanings while wearing sunglasses - what's not to love. We cancelled our appt with Dr. Rupin at Bitesize Dentist (Brooklyn location) because their practice in our opinion, is charging fees unethically. I wrote this review because consumers should not be charged for services that aren't needed or provided. We'd be new patients at Bitesize. We're paying out of pocket for dental care so we pay attention to what services are provided and for what amount. The cost of a full cleaning (includes: fluoride, check up, x-ray and cleaning) would cost $250. X-rays are not required for each cleaning so I asked what the cost would be following the first appt. We were told on this call, the fee for just a cleaning would be around $80. When I called to confirm the upcoming appt, I asked again for the cost for a cleaning only. This time, I was told it was $250 for every cleaning. I asked them why it was $250 since x-rays are NOT done at each cleaning and only required maybe every 2 years. She told me she understood, but it was their policy to charge $250 regardless. We don't object to paying out of pocket fees, but we do object to being forced to pay for services that aren't provided or needed. read more

I hate writing a one star review about this place because to be honest I never got a chance to check them out. I hear the dentists are great. About a year ago (I still remember this is how much it bugged me) my kids needed check ups. I have a dentist but had a bunch of friends tell me about this place so I thought I would try it out. I was post work out maybe not looking my best but the receptionist poorly from the start. I asked if I could set up appointments for my children. Her- Do you have insurance? Me- Yes, I do I have this. Her- We do not accept that. Me- Okay how much is a check up? Her- 200 something per child (cannot really remember but it was a little pricey) Me- Okay I would still like to set up an appointment, please Her- We do not have anything after school for the next 2 months Me- Okay I will call later I guess Her- No real goodbye just an air of whatever leave My issue was she was never polite, engaging or asked if I needed an after school appointment. I am willing take my children from school for doctors appointments. She never smiled, literally was not willing to engage with me at all. I left called my dentist had an appointment in 2 days and (she does not take my insurance either) paid out of pocket. My children had great visits and all was well in the world. I spoke to two other friends who had similar experiences. I hear the dentists are lovely. My advice to reception, do not judge a book by it's cover read more

The staff is super friendly. The office is very clean and kids friendly. My 3 kids have regular appointments there and they love going to the dentist! So far, they just did check ups and cleaning but I'll definitely trust them for any other procedure :) read more

Dr. Malhotra is a very kind hearted dentist with incredible bedside manner for the children. My son ( 2 years of age) just told me after our first visit ever to a dentist today that he wants to see "Dr. Malotra every day. He is nice" which is pretty great. And he was terrified of doctors in general. The visit today was due to a concern over possible cavities and check up and luckily we are ok. The doctor explained everything to the child in warm manner and the feeling of true care and concern was palpable even to a 2 year old child. There was no "fake" or overly happy happy demeanor and professional. The doctor even held my son's hand and helped him during his x-ray. The cleaning was effective and fun for the child and the visit was great. We can't wait to go again - something you don't hear about a dentist ( big or small) every day. We did not have dental insurance for our 2 year old because we did not think we would need it, and the whole visit with fluoride treatment, check up, front x- ray and clean up was $160. Did i say we also got a treat? spiderman flossing and brushing tools and a little carry plastic bag and a token from the doctor for the gumball machines which had only balls and toys. read more

Wonderful 1st visit with both my sons age 7&9. One son has had terrible Experience previously with dentists and I wondered if he would even get into the chair. The dentist and assistant were gentle kind and caring and made both boys feel relaxed and happy. Very happy mom indeed!! read more

What a GREAT pediatric dentist office! Aside of being modern and ultra clean, the whole experience, from the front desk to the nurse to the doctor, is welcoming, kid-friendly and approachable. Front desk: delightful speaking to the person on the other end. The two ladies at the front desk are as warm and friendly in person. The reminder texts: A huge plus. The doctor: was AMAZING! I did not think in a million years he would get my son to as much as open his mouth, but there he was, enjoying a cleaning while being joked with. Though he had a cavity the doctor felt he was so little, we should just watch it as there is no pain. And, he extracted a molar from my 6 year old daughter and had her wanting to come back. Oh, what the littles won't do for a coin at the end that gives them a fun little toy. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a great dentist who takes his time with his patient as much as with answering parent's concerns. read more

My husband and I initially took our 12 month old here for his first check up and for an evaluation of his tongue and lip ties. We were nervous and had a zillion questions. The atmosphere was very kid friendly and we felt listened to and had all of our questions answered (and in some cases re-answered. like I said, we were nervous). All of the staff are warm and welcoming. We have since took our son back for another appointment and had another very pleasant experience. After many different dentists, and many bad experiences, I came across BiteSize. This has been the first time that my daughter was calm enough to get a filling without the help of laughing gas. She felt so at ease and relaxed, I was so amazed at how calm she finally was at the dentist as it was always a struggle. She didn't even notice she got an injection, which was her biggest fear. After a traumatic experience for my son at another dentist, it was very difficult to get him to see anyone. I am SO glad I found Bitesize. They are amazing at what they do. The office is beautiful and clean. They explain everything. They have creative names and explanations for everything they do inside your little ones mouth (this is a teeth tickler, let me show you on your finger first). There is a TV on the ceiling for them to watch, and stuffed animals to hold if they'd like. Everything is done to make you and your child comfortable. I have searched awhile to find a pediatric dentist for my two-year-old, and most of them had very mixed reviews online as well as in person to those I spoke to for recommendations. I accidentally came across BiteSize, and was impressed with their reviews. I was even MORE impressed during my son's appointment. The front office staff, dental assistants and especially the dentist himself were absolutely amazing. They completely exceeded my hopes of the ideal pediatric dentist! My two year does NOT like the simplest of doctor checkups or getting his hair cut, so for him to sit calmly, attentive and interact with the dentist was mind blowing. BEWARE of the receptionists! The dentists are good professionals but the administration of the office is a horror. I lost so many hours and had to deal with their incompetence filing insurance payments with Aetna for months. After several phone calls, their personnel assured the claim was processed with the insurance, and that the problem was solved. However, I kept receiving threatening letters through the mail, claiming legal actions for a due payment. I dealt with the same issue more than 5 times through a period of 4 months. Same arguments, sending them again all the information, speaking to the same rude individuals, (I got their names), so they state the bill was already paid. But the nightmare repeated again next month with a payment collection. They never apologized despite my insurance had to issue a statement saying I didn't owe them and they had paid. Yesterday I received a phone call asking me to schedule an appointment for my son's 3-year-old visit. I had already forgotten this hideous incident, but after their call, I thought necessary to write this comment in hope the Drs. read this and reconsider on who's hands they are leaving the management of their business. Awful administrative people. I would never go back there and I suggest you avoid this place at all cost. read more

I took my daughter here after a friend recommended it to me. The space is brand new, super bright and has books / toys in the lobby. The front desk was really responsive and nice when I called and when I went in to visit. Dr. Malhotra was truly truly fantastic with my daughter who is 2.5 years old. She allowed him to brush her teeth, floss them, and he was even able to scrape off the black stains on her front teeth! i thought we were going to have to live with those stains till her baby teeth fell out but she allowed him to do it! I was so proud of her and she loved the little "gift" bag that she went home with. She loved the tooth brush, the fluoride toothpaste, flossies, stickers and the little "prize" that came with her visit. It was an amazing experience for my daughter! read more

I brought my 16 month old daughter to see Dr. Rafay Hussain. Our pediatrician recommended BiteSize Dentistry and we really wanted our daughter to see a specialist. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist and the front office was very clean. I was told they just opened earlier this year. The overall feel of the office was bright and cheery. Lots of toys and books for the patients. The chairs also had screens on top for the kids to watch tv once they are old enough to sit in the chairs. The tech was nice and the doctor was really warm and spoke gently and made us feel comfortable. He also very gentle when cleaning my daughter's teeth. I am so happy to have them in the neighborhood. read more

Before booking appointments with any doctor or dentist, I always verify that they accept my insurance. I went to Bite Size's website (http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://www.bitesizebk.com/payment.html) and it very clearly states that they accept all PPO plans. When I called to make the appointment for my son, I asked the receptionist if they take my specific PPO plan and she responded that they did, so I made an appointment. Three weeks later when I arrive with my son for his appointment, I am told very bluntly that they do not accept my insurance because it "doesn't pay enough." When I pointed out that their website clearly states that they accept *ALL* PPO plans, the receptionist said that the website needs to be updated. When I pointed out that I expressly asked whether Bite Size accepts my specific insurance plan on the phone as I made the appointment, she very rudely responded, "Well, you didn't talk to me." It's unacceptable to list information on your website that is out of date, especially when it affect the eligibility of potential patients. It's even more unacceptable to tell someone incorrect information on the phone, and then not honor what has been said, especially when two sources of information corroborate my claim. I've brought my 3 yr old and 7 yr old here for routine cleanings/checkups twice. Those visits went fine. My 7yr old has a cavity that needs to be filled and nitrous oxide was "highly recommended" with $100 out of pocket cost. While I would love to have my child relaxed at the dentist, I simply cannot afford it. The day before the appointment, they called to confirm and remind me of the $100 charge. I told them I cannot afford it, so the doctor refused to treat my child and referred me elsewhere. Nice. I didn't realize "highly recommended" meant "required". So I call my health insurance and they tell me the nitrous oxide is covered under medical not dental and they just need an authorization request from the dental office. I let Bitesize know this and they say they will send said authorization. We make a new appointment for a MONTH later only to be told that the request was denied by my health insurance...however, they sent the request to the dental insurance not the medical like they said they would. Bitesize then tells me that they cannot bill medical insurance only dental. Why wasn't this told to me a month ago? I was very clear about the situation. Now, over a month later, I'm referred elsewhere to have my sons cavity filled. Thanks for the complete lack of attention/consideration/time/care. read more

Dentist is amazing !!! Love .. love .. love him! Everyone inside who works ex.(dental assistants and helpers) are beyond professional. Unfortunately the receptionist area not so much :/ Which is really sad because everything is great! Both receptionist are really unprofessional. I went inside with the little kids , so they can have there check up and left my pre teen in the waiting area to wait his turn. When we had finished our appointment my pre teen tells "Ma I heard the receptionist talking about you." So I ask what did they say? He tells me that they said that I was rude and rushing the appointment. Which I was not. I came at 2:40 and appointment was for 2:30. Yes I was a bit late and I did apologize. My issue was that the receptionist keep insisting my appointment was at 2pm. So I showed her the text message I received and it stated 2:30pm. I guess she was a little upset .. that she was wrong.
