This is a wonderful pediatric dental practice. I knew to expect a fabulous waiting room, since my…read moredaughter-in-law had sent pictures on a previous visit. But actually experiencing a preschooler's delight was really special. The waiting room is a small playground. One side contains a wall enclosed play area with a short slide. My Grandson immediately headed to this spot and in minutes was happily coming down the slide. In lieu of kiddie sized chairs, one wall was colorful 3 level bleacher style seating which could also be used for safe climbing. Children's books are strategically placed. Oh, and there's also an area for grown ups to sit. Much smaller than the play area, of course..... But the highlight was the examination. Can you believe I'm actually saying this about a dental visit? The child & his grown-up is led to an open floor plan exam area. There are no little cubicles to make one feel isolated and claustrophobic. Each station features a brightly colored dental chair, all in different hues. The child gets to choose their favorite color. My Grandson immediately ran happily to the bright blue chair and eagerly climbed into it. Wow, could this actually be a dentist appointment? Or might it be a play date with the amazing doctor? Never have I seen a Pediatric Dentist who was so good with children. She explained what she was doing to the child, not the grownup. And her demeanor was such that you could tell she loved children. That feeling was conveyed to the child, who happily cooperated with everything she wanted to do. And oh, the dental tools & utensils.... They were all child themed. What an amazing experience!! What a wonderful dental practice!!

I feel that it…read moreis important for other families to know about our experience so they can prevent the same thing from happening to their children. I would give Dr. Hanford and Greenpoint Pediatric Dentistry a zero if it was possible. Options with our insurance are limited, so we ended up at GPD for both our son and daughter. The work was so poor that both our children needed additional work to correct soon after. After a few months of having her crown put in, our daughter developed an infection because it was not properly sealed, nor the initial cavity completely removed. She needed antibiotics and additional sedation work scheduled to correct. In addition to the quick, sloppy, and careless work, the dentist office is dirty and grim, and none of the staff seem to actually care about young children. They want to get you in and out as quickly as possible despite the involved procedures they perform. We were rushed at every step, spoken to in a condescending and dismissive manner, and never received a follow up from them after our call to complain about our traumatizing experience. They have no intention of taking their time to establish trust with your child. The doctor and his staff will physically restrain your child while you listen to their screams from the other room. They may say your child will not remember any of it, and this is a complete lie. My son still talks about his experience 5 years after the work was done. My daughter started crying hysterically when she heard our regular dentist telling us she needed to go back. We are still so upset about our experience. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

I will update this review probably in another time, I want to give time for my daughter cleaning to see if it was worth. I am an adult weighing 175 lbs. The vest only covered my shoulders. Kulute Ali then asked me to wait in the radiation room for about five minutes, she said, while she cleaned my exam room. I saw Dr. Dean, with my panoramic x-ray on the screen in my exam room. Dr.Dean told me a panoramic x-ray was not really used for looking at teeth. She said it was just to look at the jaws. Dr. Dean asked if "they" could take two more individual bite wing x-rays of specific teeth, without telling me which teeth. You would think they would want bite wing x-rays of all of my teeth if the panoramic x-ray was not used to look at teeth. Of course a panoramic x-ray IS used to identify decay on teeth, amongst its use for assessment of much more than the "jaws." Kulute Ali came to my exam room and asked me to come with her to do 2 bite wing x-rays. Kulute Ali attempted to place the pediatric lead vest on me again. I asked Kulute to please use the royal blue adult lead vest with the collar. Kulute said instead she wanted to use the light blue adult vest. Notably, the light blue vest did not have a collar. I kindly insisted on the royal blue adult vest because it had a collar. Kulute placed the royal blue adult vest with a collar on me. Kulute Ali then placed the bite black/receptor holder in my mouth, without using any film. The receptor holder was empty. Kulute Ali then pressed the exposure button six times. Kulute Ali repositioned the empty bite block/receptor holder in my mouth and then again pressed the exposure button six times or seven times. Kulute Ali then repositioned the empty bite block/receptor holder in my mouth and pressed the exposure button too many times for me to count, while I watched the screen on the extension arm continuously blink and read, "exposure," "exposure," "exposure," exposure"... over and over and over without ever loading film in the bite block/receptor holder and without moving it in my mouth. If I had to guestimate, I would say Kulute Ali pressed the exposure button at least 30 times, without ever one time loading film in the bite block/receptor holder she put in my mouth. Kulute Ali went to the computer and pretended to upload images and no x-rays displayed on the computer screen. I was not shown my bite wing x-rays because none were taken. Yet Kulute Ali and Dr. Dean pretended they were taken. Dr. Dean did not share any information with me about the health of my teeth, gums, jaws or palate. I audio recorded my entire exam, including Dr. Dean asking for the bite wing x-rays and including Kulute Ali coming and asking me to allow her to take bite wing x-rays and including my follow up conversation with Dr. Dean after she pretended to look at my bite wing x-rays in another room.

Hi all! I would like to share my experience at This place to warn you not to take your children…read moreEVER TO THIS OFFICE . THIS HAPPENED TO US LAST YEAR 2020, my daughter is still traumatized because of this Dr. On Friday August 21, 2020, I took my 3.8 year old daughter to her dentist appointment and we had a really bad experience, for what I consider child abuse and malpractice. We visited this place on May 2020 for the first time for an emergency; My daughter had a x-ray done and a root canal in a lower right posterior tooth ans I was told she had two cavities in left top teeth and two cavities in right top teeth. On this second visit the Doctor worked the two left top teeth. He said all were small cavities. He used local anesthesia, injected her upper left and right gums, then after few minutes He put a metal clap around her tooth and a blue latex dam, this already made my daughter feel scared. Then he started to drill while his assistant held the suction, my daughter started crying really bad, pushing his hands and kicking, completely out of control, he didn't stopped at any moment to try to calmed her down, suddenly I saw my daughter was choking, it was evident that she could not breathe I told them to turn her head down and he just kept trying to drill, so I pull my daughter and my poor baby was full of vomit that came off after they broke the dental dam. Of course I asked him not to continue with the procedure. My daughter was terrified as well as me thinking if I wasn't inside my daughter could have chocked to death on her vomit. At not time the doctor didn't stop to try to calm down my daughter or asked if she was in pain or something. After those horrible seconds I asked them what was he waiting to stopped and turn her! She was chocking with her vomit (which was a lot and full of pieces food) and she couldn't breathe, He just said nothing. Also I talked to the front desk workers about what happened and they said they didn't want the vomit on the floor, they wanted to suction the vomit (which I am not sure the dental suction could take all the vomit with pieces of food before my daughter choked in her own vomit), meaning for me, It was more important to them the floor does not get dirty than my daughter's life. I consulted what happened with a Dental Professional who agreed this was malpractice and goes against the license to practice dentistry. Also I sent my daughter's x-ray to her; she and her brother in law who is a Dental Professional said they don't believe the top left teeth have decay from the x-rays and they don't see reason for treatment of those teeth, that are actually the ones the doctor at Yellow Bear drilled. Also she said right after the baby root canal he should have taken an x-ray to make sure it was completed properly, and he didn't. I hope this helps prevent someone else from going through what we went through. Also I would like to add this place is not clean, the building were it is located is a completely mess and so dirty. The office doesn't look a clean place and was the first reason I didn't want to go back after my first time, but I decide to try a 2nd time since my first time was in may when the shut down was still in NY and I thought it could be a reason. PLEASE DONT GO THERE, Dr. Hai Do will traumatized your kids
