The house seems to be run by the family which members had been very friendly and welcome. When being led to our room we had climbed a pretty old, rambling stairway. The key to our room had been a simple bearded key - no bits and pieces - and so had been the room itself. It had been paltry furnished and only offered a bed with two nightcases, a highly hung up old TV and a rickety wardrobe. Due to the high walls the room had looked even poorer and only the bathroom could improve our impression. Unfortunately the room hadn't been quite, too since the Rue de Marche passes the hotel which brings the noise of traffic right into your room. Also adventurous had been our breakfast. We had shared the cramped room with two other visitors and had our eyes wander over all the collectibles along the walls which had reached from granade shells to porcellaine stuff. Behind us a big 46" inch flat TV had filled one wall and had looked so unreal in this atmosphere. Breakfast itself had contained two rolls and croissants, coffee, egg and marmelade and so had been average. To be honest: although the people had really been nice and friendly, the next time we might visit Bastogne we will look out for another place to stay.

It's on one end of very few roundabouts in Bastogne, above a gas station. The gas station market is basically a mini grocery store and has more than what you'd expect inside of a gas station, such as produce, fresh baked goodies, and more. It was the perfect spot to spend the night before our full day WWII tour the next day! We were well-rested, and breakfast gave enough energy to last us until lunch.

I stayed here for one night while visiting Bastogne and have nothing but good things to say about it. It consists of 8 rooms on top of the store. The motel lobby is located connected to the store. The room floor can only be accessed thru the lobby or by a special door on the side of the building only accessible by the guests room key. My room had a foyer entrance, a large bathroom with an American size walk in shower (that means it was large) and then a large bedroom. The room windows face the rear of the building and my room was very quiet. The room was comfortable and the air conditioner worked well. Parking was in front of the building with cameras monitoring the car spaces 24/7. Besides, I don't think there is that much crime in Bastogne. The store below is very well maintained and is like a small grocery store including a bakery/restaurant that serves food. I remember seeing an employee using a machine to wash the floor. The store is convenient because if you need anything you can just walk downstairs to get it as long as it is before 10 pm because that is when they close for the evening, You can walk to Place McAuliffe in about 5 minutes so Le Merceny is in a good location. When I checked in the female manager showed me my room to make sure it was satisfactory to me. Excellent customer service. If I returned to Bastogne, this is where I would want to stay.

A babbling, fast moving river out front. It's a classic European hotel. They don't even ask for a credit card when checking in! Very affordable too. Words of advice. Reserve online through their website, not a booking site. It's less expensive and is better for them. Email or call them for follow-up prior to arriving. If you don't speak French, it's best to write them first. If you want dinner in the hotel (I highly recommend), reserve it ahead of time, or you will be out of luck. I recommend their breakfast onsite too. They have a great choice and the coffee is excellent. If you haven't been here before, I recommend arriving in the daylight. The grounds are beautiful and worth seeing in the daylight, but the roads approaching it can be a bit difficult in the dark. I can't wait to return here soon!

Le Beau Sejour was one of THE best restaurants we've ever visited. The ambiance is frankly not particularly good. But the food and service deserves multiple stars and I'm not sure why they're not better noted in the food world. Multi-course menu with wine was out of this world good and set us back c.a. €180. Worth every cent. Would gladly return and highly recommend a detour to dine here.

It was ok, but when the door opened it got pretty chilly. The online menu did not match what was available in the location, but with how things are it makes sense they would limit. We were able to make it work and the cappuccino was made perfectly. Nice, clean quiet place to stop and enjoy some conversation with friends and family.
