Last night of our trip to Puerto Rico, we looked up for a vegetarian friendly place near Fajardo and came across this suspiciously high rated food truck just 5mins away from where we stayed. We had to check it out! Our server was very nice, they have a couple of tables and chairs for seating and it was breezy, being located next to the beach. They have a bunch of vegetarian options. We tried the chicken and vegetarian mofongo as well as empanadas which were good! We tried the coconut fries as well but did they were burnt and lacked flavor (hence 4 star) Overall the food was pretty good, Maria was very cheerful and heads up, it's a cash only place but they do have PayPal!

The best place to eat if your staying in Liquillo.. don't go anywhere else. The food is delicious and you can sit outdoors and enjoy. We came here on both days we were there as my daughter was like can we just eat here all the days. Food may take time but it's worth it.

VEGETARIANS COME HERE!! We were visiting from NY in December. Being a vegetarian I couldn't believe i got great food here. I ate vegetables stuffed in avocado. There were chickpeas and corns too $15. It was yummy. With side of sweet potato fries. We also got 1 shrimp stuffed avocado with side of yucca fries $17. There was also taro root soup which tasted great $5. The server was very considerate and asked about each thing what i could eat and what not. Like cheese etc. We were here after 6pm so it was dark and lighting was close to nothing. So i used my phone torch to see my food. I wish there was more light around. I like to see my food when i eat. Also this is cash and PayPal only place. Our bill was $41 + tip extra so i wouldn't say it's a $ place. But food tasted great. Parking is street side and was available plenty. Google maps might not give you exact location but we walked a little further and found this kiosk.

Paid 14 dollars for 2 groupe tacos from a food truck, which is the most expensive tacos in my life, been waiting in the dark rainy night for 45 minutes!!! For an to go order Only two tacos!!! Then when arrived at hotel, there was NO tacos at all, I only got pineapple veggies Not the fish taco I've been craving for, nor even could I see a piece of meat. SO DISAPPOINTED!

Made a quick decision for a bite to eat, and we could not have a made a better decision in our entire time in Puerto Rico. This unassuming food truck is serving up some of the most unique fare in the area. Our server, Natalie, was more than friendly and made excellent suggestions off the menu. We had cheese empanadas (bomb), stuffed pineapple chicken (bomb.com), and chicken and shrimp mofungo (tomthebomb.com). Try the passionfruit, guava, pineapple juice (a Natalie special), you will not be underwhelmed. - For that special kick, go to the liquor store down the block and get a half pint of rum and make that juice pop. And to the important stuff...fries. we tried coconut fries, fried strips of coconut...excellent choice for something unique but don't order it expecting that fry satisfaction. Overall, just do it. Just f-ing do it.

This is the place you drive out of your way for. This place gets the distinct honor of my making the best tacos I've ever had and the best plantains. It's a tiny food trailer but don't be deceived the flavors that come out of it are big and tasty! Came here with my family and the beach side setting is the perfect place to enjoy some of the best flavors in Puerto Rico! The coconut mint lemonade is also a must! We loved this place! Fantastic food and super friendly guys making some amazing food.

I really wanted to have a good experience at Bistro Del Mar. We waited until the last leg of our trip to come here. We waited about 45 min until the truck showed up. Marina and her crew were very nice. We ordered several different empanadas, the pineapple & avocado veggie dish and the grouper ceviche. The empanadas were delicious. But sadly, l I ended up with severe Montezuma's revenge. I'm pretty sure it was the grouper since I was the only one who had it and the only one who got sick. My instinct was to have the steak. I should have stuck to that. I'm sad to not have had the incredible experience I was craving. It was just my bad luck.

THE STUFFED PINEAPPLE WITH CHICKEN IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I HAVE EVER TASTED IN MY LIFE. This place is legit Puerto Rican culture at its finest. Delicious authentic foods being served at beach front location with genuine, kind workers serving you and going out of their way to make your meal and your entire stay as best as possible. Will be back for every dinner while we are in area.

I have been struggling to find somewhere to eat that had flavoring/ textures I enjoyed, Then I came upon Bistro Del Mar. Hands down, delicious. Excellent flavor. We had a stuffed avocado with steak and yucca fries, stuffed pineapple with chicken and sweet plantains, and a chicken empanada. All were delicious. Did not disappoint.

I remember eating at Marina's food truck en Las Croabas a few years back and thought to myself, "This food was prepared with love." I recently was back in Puerto Rico and visited the truck en La Pared and the quality was better than ever. The dedication and knowledge to her craft and the customer service from her crew was impecable. My food was delicious and when Marina pulled up from some last minute grocery shopping I let her know that I was super proud of what she has accomplished with that carrito. Another great find outside of El Conquistador gates. Just a short walk and you'll find simple delicious food served from a truck. Owner couldn't be nicer and the food couldn't be better. Had the stuffed avocado with steak, a variety of empanadas and some ice cold cheap beer. Best and cheapest meal we have had yet. Loud fun outdoor atmosphere (maybe too loud with all the generators running a host of different stands in addition to this one. Home made hot sauces round out the special touches. Marina did it right with this food stand This stop is well worth it.

The best food we have had on our trip so far. Not to mention THE sweetest cook and owner. We ordered: ceviche tacos, plantain fritters with chicken, and a steak wrap. They were all amazing. Yelped this delicious food truck and it did not disappoint. My husband and I were able to walk over from our hotel (el conquistador resort- 10 min walk), we ordered 4 different dishes ALL delicious and reasonably priced! We will definitely return before leaving Puerto Rico. read more

AMAZING FOOD. Best meal I have had so far in Puerto Rico. I got the chicken quesadilla, which was really tasty and highly recommend. My husband got the stuffed pineapple with steak which was very good, just not as filling at the quesadilla. Always good to try some plantains, this is a good spot to try! Highly recommend! This is my third time visiting Puerto Rico and this is some of the best food I've had anywhere on the island!! We tried the coconut rice, yuca fries, empanadas and ceviche. Everything was excellent!! The ceviche was one on the best ceviches I've ever eaten, it was so flavorful. The prices were extremely reasonable. The service was fast. The two people working there were very friendly. At first I was disappointed to see a review from the owner giving herself five stars because I thought well gee w/ only 2 other reviews can I trust the five stars. yes. the answer is yes, generally. we had some incredible fish tacos (one ceviche, one lobster). while they weren't cheap 2 for $10, they were stuffed to the brim. the empanadas while freshly deep fried were slightly too greasy for our tastes. one star off only for cost given other options nearby however they'll continue to do well going forward. read more

Fantastic experience! Phenomenal food and super amazing owners! Showed up after bio bay and saw the chef owners crushing something in a wooden pestle-like vessel. Pretty soon we were sitting down eating some of the best food we'd ever had and definitely the best food we've ever had in Puerto Rico. Also a great experience. The chef owners had us tasting all kinds of hot sauces, soups, appetizers. You name it. Soooooo great!! read more

This food truck has its own parking area and sit down eating spot. Yelp location is close, but not accurate. Look around the circle (not on the beach road). Food was delicious! Had the sampler empanadas, steak stuffed avocado, and octopus ceviche tacos. Everything is so good! The vibe of the place is also fun, and the service is friendly. read more

This rockin' food truck (trailer) descends on Fajardo's bio-bay launch point six days a week (which day does she take off? Monday? Sunday? Damn you, rum!!! I can't remember. It's not Tuesday, because I just ate there. Anyway, set up in position to capitalize on famished tourista-tour kayakers, one could be forgiven for thinking the proprietor and her daughter were there to sucker in weak-willed nincompoops with more money than discretion. In reality, she is serving up top-quality chow from her diminutive trailer. The menu, while compact, offers quite a variety, and at competitive prices. The owner (assisted by a young lady one presumes is her daughter) is cheerful and helpful, and hablas Ingles for all us gringo monolinguists. The food is quite good - a pastiche of Latin-American cuisine, including Empanadas, quesadillas, mofongo, and other favorites from a variety of countries south of the Rio Grande. Hot sauce is homemade and based on one of two key ingredients: carrot or grape. What? Neither of those go with hot sauce you say? That's what I said, too. But the truth is that they are both delicious (though I failed to detect the presence of either of the namesake components in either). In any case, the food is great, the service is helpful, and the setting is idyllic (please forgive the odor of decaying seaweed in the cove). read more

This place had the best food. i had their Tostones, coconut fries, tacos and nutella empanada. everything was delicious! If you want an honest opinion on pricing, I was quiet surprised to see the entree rates similar or higher than many 5 star resorts nearby. expect an ambience of a food truck. read more

Can I give it more than 5 stars? I want Guy Fieri to come here on one of his shows! The BEST food we had in Puerto Rico. Coconut fries are a must have, as is the Nutella empenada. My son who ate mostly hamburgers on our trip couldn't get enough of the beef empenadas- we had to order more. We ended up here because I didn't want to spend the money on Stingray at our hotel and a Yelp reviewer mentioned this place. A quick walk from the hotel- I would walk miles for this food. And yes, I would have paid any amount for this food. Truly the best food, most reasonable prices, and fantastic people! read more

This is the best vegetarian food truck in Puerto Rico. You can't leave PR without trying their Mofongo, coco fries and stuffed avacados. We went there twice and tried all the vegetarian dishes. The food is simply awesome and fresh. read more

Chef/owner was very nice & friendly. The empanadas were AMAZING. However: 1. prices were WAYYYYYYYYY overpriced. Quesadillas for $12 and two tacos for $12 which came with no rice or sides. 2. I would have also liked the menu to be specific in what actually comes on the tacos. Mine came with pineapples and balasamic sauce which is defiantly very sweet and an acquired taste for tacos. Presentation was nice though. 3. Lastly, 2 people from my group got food poisoning from the octopus. I would only come back for the empanadas. read more

Ummmmmmmm WOW!!!!! I have never had food this good from anywhere in the area, I'm sad that they are only here on the weekends because I would eat it everyday!! Every single thing on the menu is world class....I'm not lying! They put a magical twist on everything they serve, I wish I had this kind of food back home. I recommend that you try everything on the menu and you will see how unreal it is! Very clean and very friendly, I'm going to miss it so much when I leave......I miss it already! read more

Everybody searches for it, most eventually find it, some don't. That place!!! The place that serves the food that when you die and go to heaven, you envision the food being served tasting just like THAT!!! I've been a Yelp member for many years. Obviously, I've eaten out thousands of times. But I've never found THAT place. I'm 46 and I've FINALLY FOUND IT! And of all the places in the world, it's a food truck, in the parking lot of Baby Bay in Puerto Rico - where all the Bio-Bay tour operators are. I cannot describe what I just tasted. There aren't enough words to describe the sense of taste I just experienced. And the funny part, I'm saying this about a Steak Quesadilla!!!! How is that possible? Am I just so hungry that ANYTHING will taste good? C'mon, I'm not that obtuse. THE FOOD IS OUT OF THIS WORLD WITH THE FRESHEST INGREDIENTS CHOPPED UP AND MADE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!!!! Like everyone else said, Juan is an AWESOME dude - very helpful! And Marina!!!! Oh Marina!!!! The MASTER of the food I just ate!!!! I need to find a way to make a few million $ to steal her and make her my personal chef! Only TWO disappointments: 1. It's in Puerto Rico, not Pittsburgh. So I have to come back to eat here again. 2. It's in a Food Truck! Why hasn't an investor, taking his family to the Bio-Bay, discovered this place and franchised it yet? This food needs to be tasted by all! read more

We came here before our bio bay tour and it currently ranks as the best food we had on our Puerto Rico trip. We both got the famous stuffed avocados, my boyfriend got the grouper (which he lauded as super fresh and perhaps the best fried whitefish he'd ever had) and I got chicken. We were both super impressed with the incredibly flavorful food coming out of this little food truck. I got the coconut fries (which were amazing and a fairly unique experience), he got the tostones, which were also delicious. Cannot recommend highly enough!!! read more

Best Puerto Rican food we tried during our entire trip. Hands down! Highly recommend the Pollo Mofongo and Pork over Avocado (can't remember the name). So good! Empenadas are made right in front of your eyes. Incredible!! Also the drinks are so tasty. They use their own special juice recipe and it is oh so good! read more

Hard to believe a five star food truck but Bistro Del Mar is the real deal. It's off the beaten path but located on a beautiful beach. Everything is freshly prepared and incredible. We started with the chicken and cheese empanadas and they were the best we've ever had. We followed with grouper stuffed pineapple and octopus stuffed avocado both were fantastic. We had the best dinner in all of Puerto Rico last night. We have been traveling for an entire week and didn't have as fresh and flavorful food as last night. My husband loved the stuffed avocado. I had empanadas and they were pretty good also. I also ordered the coconut fries, which were a disappointment. Just a coconut flavored dough deep fried. They were very dry and only hinted of coconut, and it comes without sauce. The service was also not what I expected based on my other experiences in little family owned shops/food trucks in PR. We waited quite a while for our order and they forgot to make it to go, which also added more time. read more

We've been in Puerto Rico for 3 days, and we've been trying Puerto Rican food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Bistro Del Mar has been THE best food we've had since we've been here. Seriously, so much better than all the sit down restaurants we've spent more money on. The owner is super nice, you can tell that she cares about the food (both quality and presentation), and her empanadas are to die for! My wife and I also recommend the stuffed fried plantains (especially mahi), it's so scrumptious it'll leave you speechless. Highly recommended! It's completely worth your money. read more

Stuffed pineapple ceviche is not to be skipped. Had it with Grouper and now I know I like Grouper. Can be challenging to spot in the park because the trailer is black but do not give up on them if you can't find them right away. Fight for it and you will be very pleased with your choice. read more

Great dinner! My family loved it and thought it was worth walking there in the rain. They were determined to try it and felt it was our best meal of the week. This place is awesome!!!! Milinda is awesome chef and puts her heart and soul into the food she prepares. My family and I have been in Puerto Rico for 3 days and by far this has been the best food yet. The ceviche is soooo good. The avocado here is creamy, sweet. Every item at this food truck is delicious. We were staying in an adjacent resort, very nice resort. However, the food isnt that great at the resort, so we went walking to find better food. The resort food is like $30 for a hamburger.....Ughh. Chain restaurant stuff. We wanted food that was worthwhile. We found this place among other food trucks. We got lucky. Like I said, the food is amazing and the Milinda and her staff are even more so. She was so nice, she even personally took us, my family, back to the resort. This is 6 star service!!! As much as I had hoped to eat here, it doesn't appear to exist anymore. There is a building at 5 Calle Esperanza that says Bistro Del Mar but it is not functioning. Maybe next time I visit PR it will be reopened. read more
