I love this bar. I was raised in Spokane, live near Seattle now, and must visit Bistango for a lemon meringue martini when I am in town. The drinks are well made and very unique. Quiet except for the tv going above...can't even remember what was playing. I had a Tanqguery 10 Martini...mmwah! The owner Reema came out and chatted with me for a while, a very lovely and friendly woman! It's for sure a singles place at night and the place is probably packed. I think they paid her to be a flirt between gigs or something because she was working the crowd in a winking, direct eye-contact, followed by knowing-smile kinda way (this place is small and me and my friends are not ... um small). Three stars. Next time: Early weekday with bestie. Quite, Sade on the DVD player. Twinkling lights in the ceiling. Another beautiful bar (as in the physical bar itself). No dancer. Couple of couples. Bar tender entertained us with pie-themed drinks. I sampled the malt and barley themed drinks, myself. Four stars. Last Thursday: Walk in. Its quiet, little louder music. Sit at the bar; nice. Five stars for the Mexico martini! I'm craving it right now and it's not even 11am yet. But if you're not a fan of cilantro, stay away because this drink is full of little green pieces and will get stuck between your teeth. I advise first date couples to stay away from this drink all together for the latter reason. No one wants to kiss a salad mouth. My girlfriends an I went out for drinks on my 21st birthday. The drinks we all ordered were great but our waiter; to say the least was creepy. I don't remember his name but he was short with curly hair. He was ranting about the harvest moon and Friday the 13th. He came back to check on us about 4 times in our 20 minute stay. Before we asked for our checks a bartender came over and asked how we were "handling our situation"? We didn't know what that meant so we just nodded. We probably would have stayed for another round but we all wanted to leave at that point. After we paid we asked our waiter to take a picture of us. Which for whatever reason he had to get on his knees for; keep in mind two of us were wearing dresses. He took one then said "How about something more provocative"? We said no thanks and left. This place is very fancy for Spokane. I love the atmosphere but could deal without the prices! The cocktails are amazing, but other places charge half the price. I had the fireworks martini, I heard amazing things about it. They actually set the glass on fire and create "fireworks" with spices. Came in here late Monday evening 9 Pm - tired from a long concert and then. Heading to Vegas tomorrow to perform Again . We Heard good things about this place and wanted to sample it . There was no food available at 9 pm , we Ordered A martini and a Spanish coffee . The waitress Said the coffee was 6 hours old but made no offer to make a fresh pot, I asked how long to make a fresh pot and she answered " it will take a while " I'm not sure how long a while is in her mind , is it 5 Mins or 2 hours ? ... she never explained or offered to Make a fresh pot , even though i said Again I wanted a Spanish coffee, I then asked to taste the coffee and after sampling it in front of her I confirmed it was burnt and old and stale , the waitress Also said " she is very particular About her coffee" .. but clearly for a paying customer she is NOT particular or bothered enough to make a fresh Pot for the Spanish coffee I wanted to pay for and tip her for good svc , ( when I asked again how long it takes to Brew fresh coffee she then said "takes 5 Mins" but again made no offer to make it ... Summary - i can't recommend the svc in this place or the level of customer care at all .. Cos this waitress Barmaid didn't care enough. So disappointing .. my large road crew Will be here another day , most of them Like martinis - I'll tell them all to avoid the place . I'm sorry you are very wrong - the coffee you saw being made in video was NOT served to me - she made coffee only after serving me and I had ordered another drink - the focus is is " take care of the customer Forst time and if the coffee is off then don't serve it ". I had an extremely tasty drink here called Huckleberry. Dangerous because you couldn't even taste the alcohol in it yet from the two I had I got a nice buzz. Always have to be careful with the sweet drinks. Some of the roughest nights of my life have been caused from drinking too many of those and not realizing it until it was too late. Bar is good but too small/crowded. They definitely could use some extra space here. The crowd here was definitely mixed. Had some younger people and the aging Affliction wearing/bad plastic surgery/trying way too hard crowd. Kind of strange to see that crowd in Spokane. My friend and I visited this bar for the first time on St. Patrick's Day. Outside, there was a sign advertising happy hour from 3pm to 6pm with a slogan of "We love the Irish." The interior looked very nice and fit with the martini bar motif. We were seated fairly quickly despite the bar being quite full. We asked the waitress for the happy hour specials and were told that they didn't have happy hour because of the holiday. I reminded her of the sign outside, and she told me she would have to check. She came back with a happy hour menu and left it for us. She wasn't rude by any means but not very friendly either. All the drinks on the menu looked fantastic; it was difficult choosing. Our drinks were brought out fairly quickly. I ordered the Sweet and Spicy Margarita, and my friend ordered the Kiss! My drink was terrible. The jalapeño was too overwhelming. The seeds had not been strained from the drink and were numerous. Also, the drink was so weak that it tasted like drinking jalapeño water. My friend'a drink tasted liked fruit juice on steroids. It was sickeningly sweet. She too complained of the lack of any detectable liquor. We didn't finish our drinks. In fairness to the staff, we didn't complain or say anything about not liking our drinks because we both felt uncomfortable; so we didn't really give them an opportunity to correct it. Nevertheless, we didn't have any desire to stay to try any of their other drinks. read more

Let's keep thing short and simple... The Good: The happy hour is great for grabbing a drink after work. The location is good as well. It is right downtown (though often overlooked because it isn't near the other bars). The drinks are always top notch, and the bartenders have always done a great job mixing drinks. You can tell they care about making people happy. The Bad: It is slow. There is usually only one bartender and one waitperson. This may be okay in other bars, but Bistango serves up a lot of cool and interesting drinks that take time to make. When the bartender has a few people in there ordering drinks, and those drinks take some time to make, you have to wait. Normally this isn't a problem, but it is if you are dropping in for a drink before a dinner reservation or before going to a movie up the street. I can't fault the place for it because they clearly don't want to cut corners and want their drinks to be good, but do be aware of this if you go in hoping to get out quickly. Overall, I like the atmosphere. It is very "dark" and modern, but there is plenty of light to see everyone around you. The bar itself is small, but the few times I've been in, there were tables open. read more
