Our tenant called us reporting a leak from the 12 gallon jet pump pressure tank drawing water from a shallow dug well. We told our tenant to call a plumber ("Professional Piping" was chosen) to fix the problem and when done, bill us. They simply cut the pressure line from the pump to the tank and installed a very small expansion tank (1 to 2 gal max) between the pump output and the house supply line. That's it!! They neglected to notice that the foot valve in the well was not holding pressure and they did not even install a simple check valve at the input to the pump to compensate for this. As a result, the pump ended up cycling on and off every 5 minutes with no water being used. We received a bill from "Professional Piping" over $900.00 dollars for a job that was not done correctly and that should have cost $350.00 max. The $900+ bill also included redundant service costs. We paid the bill in full because it was before we visited the site becoming cognizant of the above. We called "Professional Piping" many times to discuss this gross and fraudulent overcharge. They never returned our calls and they could not be reached. Stay clear of "Professional Piping" as they are slippery and not honest!!!!!

Make sure to resolve any questions or concerns BEFORE paying the bill. If your husband calls him to discuss the price afterward, make sure to be on the call to dispell some of the mis-truths. When I attempted to address some questions/concerns, he admitted that he should have talked to me before making the executive decision and presented a possible fix but then didn't call me back as he said he would. I can accept that some of the issues happened because I didn't ask enough questions.
