I don't really ever think I will find myself in here again. It's not that the service is bad, or the quality of the clothes rivals Primark, it's purely because they have nothing in fashion whatsoever. I guess if you were over the age of 40 you might find something you like, but then again you would never see the cast of Desperate Housewives sporting anything displayed in this shop, therefore I say steer clear of this shop! Ending on a positive note, the lady serving me when I visited was really cute and friendly (when I say cute I don't mean in the Hayden Panteriree way, I mean the fragile old lady way....just had to clarify that!).

Located on Park Street, it isn't a suprise that most things are completely out of my price range (you're looking at almost £50 for some leggings!!) Having said that, their clothes are really amazing. You can tell that they are worth more by the detail and quaility of the material they use. It's actually quite a large store (it goes back much further than you'd expect) so they do have a good range of clothes. I also like the fact that they keep the shop really clean and tidy, and there is always an item of every size. I dropped a few stars because window shopping just isn't the same as real shopping.

Fast forward a couple of years and a handful of long term relationships and I've been reprogrammed to take shopping as an experience. It is after all called shopping, not buying. If there was anywhere in Bristol that rams this idea home it is the internationally recognised Reiss. Named after David Reiss and originally a men's tailor in London, the shop has grown to cover various countries across the UK whilst retaining an air of independence in each store. In the Park Street branch of Bristol they are very focussed on the customer service side of things, delivering a more exclusive shopping experience. The shopper is accompanied by second to none styling and tailoring advice through a more luxury, high end store. First it was buying, then shopping, now accompanied shopping. Will the reprogramming stop before I make it to the pub?

When I say, it's right next to The Woods, people usually nod and say 'Yeah, we know The Woods, but I didn't know there was anything next to it..' Well there is! A shop just bursting with flavour, style and individuality. The next time you're shopping up Park Street, or drinking at The Woods, keep your eye out for this graffiti laden shop and enter its grotto of awesome tees, caps, shoes and posters; some produced by the designers at Seven, others by independent Bristol designers and also a handpicked selection of other imports. You access it by walking down the stairs from the front door into a small shop area. There's pretty cool music playing and a small selection of clothes which isn't too confusing to navigate. Check out the little suitcase of vintage items right by the stairs, definitely a few cool finds in there, all for £10, and above that there are some awesome trainers. If you're looking for a designer tee, they print their own, for RRP of £25 but you can find sale ones for as little a tenner. It's a very low-fi shop; they don't even have a till, but appreciate any custom they get and are really grateful and friendly.

Although the look good online they are even better in real life - if you are looking for a dress for a specific occasion then email or call Francesca and arrange a weekend appointment to view the selection. It's quite interesting really - there isn't a shop, instead you visit Francesca at her house which only serves to add to the friendly and utterly personal service you receive. I got the feeling that nothing brightened her day more than finding the perfect dress for me! She brought out a huge range of beautiful dresses that were just what we were looking for. She patiently helped my friend try them on - and then she took pics of every dress and emailed us pics after we'd left. She never pressured us to buy then and there, but said my friend should take some time to think it through. She also said she has connections with a tailor that has experience altering vintage wedding dresses which could be a real bonus. It was the first time my friend went dress shopping and it was an awesome experience! I'd highly recommend VintageDress.co.uk to anyone that's looking for a unique dress and a friendly, patient service.

I've tried to shop more ethically, honest I have. But something about this store keeps driving me back. I thought I was cured when all Bristol had to offer was the worst of the worst Primark's, with their poor selection and disorganised layout. But then they opened a super-store sized outlet and I just couldn't resist. I'm not saying it's the best one I've been to, and I've been to MANY, but I've never come out empty handed. My favourite thing about the brand new shiny Primark is their range of accessories which take up almost a third of the ground floor. Their underwear department is a bit lacking, but their sparkly dresses and cheap hosiery more than make up for it. The queues are still long, and you need a patient of a saint to trawl through the rails, but compared to most Primark stores this one is well managed and easy to navigate.

This is the sort of shop that has quick turnover of stock so you don't feel you're buying the top that everyone else is buying at the moment, which can happen with some of the bigger high street shops. On walking into the shop I was not amazed by the service, that is not to say I was disappointed, the shop assistants were amicable and provided a decent service but nothing extraordinary. However, the products and the feel of the store were a very pleasant surprise. The clothes are on trend but different enough to distinguish Apricot from Primark or Topshop. Lots of pretty prints and well placed frills, and the dress that my girlfriend 'just had to buy'; 'just off white with fantastic black piping shoulder details!' Apparently (I have no idea what that means). I was immediately struck by the prices- for the quality there are very cheap - I am definitely heading back as there are many bargains to be had.

It is probably the last really cool clothing shop left on Park Street. The style and clientele Cooshti caters for is definitely more urban that many high streets shops in Bristol. You'll find baggy jeans and some over sized t-shirts and shirts - quite unlike most shops nowadays. They also sell some seriously cool trainers which again, you'll struggle to find elsewhere in Bristol. I rarely buy stuff from Cooshti, but thats because its not really my style and unfortunately park Street doesn't have the appeal it used to for fashion/. But when I'm in the area I'll always go in and check out what they've got. It will be a sad day if Cooshti ever dropped off Park Street.

Sizes are fairly small (nothing above a 14) which is disappointing, and I would say it's better for boys than it is for girls. Bit too label loving for my blood, but worth a look if street wear is your bag.

The clothes are quite pricey but are of high quality. Yumi sell their lines to lots of different shops and market stools so you're likely to see their designs crop up all over the place, which means you're also likely to see them worn on other trendy girls.
