I've been coming to Bishop, California to visit my grandma for my entire life and this was my first time being able to go to the movie theaters in town. It was such a wonderful experience and I wish that we have been doing it more often. We went to go see the new Wonka movie and the sound and picture were very good. I loved the Bishop history that played before the movie and it was a nice little touch. We ended up getting there a little early to make sure that we got good seats because they are not assigned and we were worried about our kids being able to see the screen. But they do have booster seats for kids that they were able to use if they could not see. I highly recommend to go and see a movie at this cute little theater. read more

Recently I went to watch the Hail Mary movie. There were people on their phones and talking while the movie was playing. Went to the staff and reported there were people disturbance. Nothing was done so I asked for a refund. What appeared to be a manager was reluctant to refund my money. She defended the kids causing the disturbance and asked if I didn't expect kids to be kids. My response was I expected the adults working there to rectify the problem. Clearly they need new management or new owners that care a customer left their business because they could not enjoy a movie they paid for. Born and raised here 60 years I've never had an experience like tonight. I will purchase this movie on Netflix or Prime to avoid being the problem even though all I did was to try to support a business I've seen hundreds of movie in, small town only offers one theater unfortunately. My advice is go to Mammoth theater where they appreciate your business. read more

Love supporting local movie theaters, and Bishop Twin Theatre is one to not miss! I was in town for the Bishop Craggin Classic and Reel Rock was hosted here. The outside maintains the classic movie theater look, but the inside has been updated (with the most unexpected luxurious seats). Also $5 matinee + relatively reasonable non matinee prices as well as reasonable concessions stands. Really wish Bishop wasn't so far away or else this would be my go to movie theater! read more

Super nice movie theater and cheap food and tickets! It was $15 for 3 to see flash and $15 for drinks, popcorn and candy.

I'm actually surprised by the size of this theatre. It's pretty big and can handle large groups. There's usually two movies showing... and both usually start at the same time. There are seats in the balcony as well as on the first floor for both theatres. The seats are old. And they seemed a little dirty. The arm rests do not go up. But, the seats weren't uncomfortable. If you're tall though, there's not too much leg room. There was a small patch of dirt on center/top of the screen for the movie we were watching. It's not too noticeable... but it's there. (I'd see it sometimes during the movie.) Since it's not too crowded, you're able to get good seats if you show up half an hour before the movie starts. Actually they don't even sell tickets until half an hour before the movie starts. It's a good theatre. read more

Visited Bishop for a few days and was happy to see a movie theater. Only one showing per day and had 2 theaters. New seats were comfortable but the layout of rows is a little odd. If you are tall no problems seeing the screen, but if you are shorter hope no one is in front of you because may have a little trouble seeing screen. Got popcorn and drinks. Price: $8 for adult. Food and drink: $7.50 for small popcorn, large drink and milk duds. Chairs are horrid, most lean way forward. They are broken. As a tip don't turn on a light you will be disgusted. Did I mention I can hear every climatic event in the movie next door to us? Unacceptable. So I've been coming here for about 6 years as I've been spending many months vacationing, backpacking, hiking in the sierras. Compare to SoCal this place is really affordable, the service is friendly, the refreshments are affordable, and the new remodel is outstanding. The new seats are quite spacious and comfortable to sit end after a week on the trails. read more

This is not the Landmark Theater on Pico in LA. This is Bishop's hometown theater. You won't find reserved seating, or hipster foods, or organic popcorn, or bidets in the rest rooms--if you can do without these you'll enjoy the place. Seats are comfy enough, nice screens, decent digital audio, and a we try harder staff of high schoolers. First run movies at 1975 prices; what a deal. That said, I wish they would pull in more movies that regular adults would enjoy watching (not the adults who think truck pulls are cool). I do go to Landmark theaters when I'm down south, and enjoy organic wasabi popcorn on a stick, but when I'm in Bishop I'm happy with raisinets and buttered popcorn. Good work BTT! read more

For a small theatre in a small town, this venue is not too shabby. Considering that it only plays two movies at a time and changes every week... It's just suitable. Tickets are 8 bucks, popcorn/snacks/soda are super cheap unlike big city theatres. Seating isn't bad... The main floor seats aren't on an incline... So sometimes the person's head in front can get in the way. But there is a balcony for better viewing. I find myself catching a movie here often and it really is not that bad. The only downside is the show times . I wish they had more show times or extended some of the movies instead of just a week. read more

Considering the size of Bishop and what this theatre offers I think its great. We're lucky we even have a movie theatre. The popcorn is always fresh and the beverage/snack items are reasonably priced compared to San Diego. With Netflix, Redbox and OnDemand little bishop is really lucky to have this place with reasonable prices. I buy my Grandparents gift cards for the theatre nextdoor at the Video Place. I used to be able to buy concession stand "small drink small popcorn gift certificate" but they stopped doing that. read more

Meh. Don't go during big showings. When there is small groups in the theater it is alright. If you have a bad experience and want your money back you will be band forever and they might say they can't give you your money but they will. DO NOT go if you really care about the movie and your trying to have the best experience for it. Prices where not to bad and they allow 1 refill. read more

What a great experience!! First time there and it was great. We saw Aquaman on Sunday and did the matinee. Only $5 each. That's a great deal!!! The theater was small but clean. The staff was friendly. The older gentleman at the ticket window was very nice. The concession stand prices were very reasonable. It was nice to be able to bring the family to see a movie and not spend a fortune. I highly recommend this theater if you are in the area. read more

This is a quaint theater. I love going here when I'm in town. Its reasonably priced for movies and concession. I've never noticed the bad seats and have always found it quite comfortable. It probably has been up grated since that old post of the bad seats. Maybe that post should be removed. But I know how Yelp works if they arn't getting the big money for advertising, so take that with a grain of salt. read more

Corny movies only, seats are uncomfortable, candy is fair price, small movie screen, soda comes with NO LID or STRAWS even if people next to you are sneezing, overall STAY HOME and watch VHS instead its a better quality than this theatre read more

I'm only giving them 4 stars because the service is pretty good. But the only thing that i didnt like is how loud the play the movie. Espically, today i went to to see Everest with my dad at 6:15pm and there was some parts of the movie would get quite and the movie next door gets really loud that you can hear it. I've always loved this place, the concessions are actually affordable. Yeah, sometimes the seats arent the best, but I'm so happy to have a movie theater in town. Since the new owners took over about a year ago, they're making slow improvements that haven't gone unnoticed either, new sound system, digital format, and more show times.
