The gals at the reception desk are nice, professional and help to make what has potential to be a stressful experience a pleasant one. Dr. Miyano's medical assistant, Christina is a real gem. She's on top of whatever questions you may have and has such a warm and relaxing personality. She's flexible with scheduling surgeries and will help you to decide which day and time would be ideal for getting set up. Dr. Miyano himself is great. He presented me with options and gave the likelihood of my ailment coming back. We had a medical student shadow for my appointment. I've had appointments where the doctor either lets the med. student take over entirely or ignore that they were even in the room making it awkward for everyone; Dr. Miyano doesn't do this at all. It was a comfortable consultation appointment. I felt guided with direction and empowered with the ability to choose what I wanted to do versus not being given options. I would highly recommend Dr. Miyano just based on one appointment and will write a follow up once I've gotten rid of my cysty wristy.

I don't usually write reviews for medical places unless something really stands out, but Rainier…read moreOrthopedic Institute genuinely impressed me. They saw my brother for a broken femur, which is obviously not a small thing, and from the moment we were there, the care felt different. The provider who saw him took her time, didn't rush through anything, and actually answered all of our questions in a way that made sense. You could tell she cared, not just about the injury, but about him as a person going through it. Same goes for her medical assistant. Super kind, attentive, and just easy to talk to. It didn't feel cold or clinical the way some places do. It felt like they actually wanted to make sure we understood everything and felt supported. Honestly, after seeing how they handled his care, I've been seriously considering switching my own care over to them. That says a lot coming from someone who's pretty particular about where I go. If you're dealing with anything orthopedic-related and want a team that actually listens and treats you like a human, I would absolutely recommend them.

I never heard back, I was specifically told that the referral office would contact me not to contact them. But it could take some time. Ok I wait. And wait. Oct last year I checked back. Oh we'll resend the referral. Wait some more . Today I finally found out that the referral office denied the referral. And that they told my Dr, and to get more information from them. I go back to try to figure this out, and why I wasn't contacted when the referral was denied. I was told that once a referral is faxed off they don't ever check back. So not only did they not even do an appropriate referral in the first place, either place or lack of clinical evidence. But ignore any communication back from the referral and blatantly just go through the motions that will just get denied again. Left me in pain and delayed my treatment. And treated me as if my checking back on it was annoying. Additionally withheld information that further delayed treatment by not letting me know it was denied when I asked about it. Even if not intentionally withheld, it's still withheld and has caused me harm. I emailed the office directly, as well as my care team. I have informed them they are no longer welcome as part of my care team, and am looking for a new office. But this shouldn't be hidden and people deserve to know.

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, professional, and calming. He is friendly and efficient, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. He took the time to really listen to my concerns, thoroughly explained what was going on, and outlined a clear, personalized treatment plan. I have never felt rushed or pressured--just genuinely cared for. Upon our first meeting, his knowledge and expertise were immediately evident and he made sure that I was comfortable every step of the way. After just a few sessions, I noticed a significant improvement in my pain levels, mobility, and overall well-being. The adjustments were precise and effective, and I appreciated the additional advice on posture, stretching, and long-term care. If you're looking for someone who is skilled, attentive, and truly dedicated to helping you feel your best, this is the place to go! I'm incredibly grateful for the care that I've received and will definitely continue coming back.

I haven't had much, if any, neck issues since then. And even if I get some flare ups, I feel confident to resolve that with the exercises he's given me, and it resolves within a week (usually less). I recently started having really bad lower back pain for about the last 1-2 months and I finally made an appt to see him today. Zach gave me such an informative rundown on the root issues and the assessment was spot-on to my bad [posture] habits. He assured me in the way I needed it and again gave me the proper tools and exercises to feel confident that I can tackle this. I left feeling much less stiffness and tension in my lower back bc he spent some time loosening it up and adjusting my back. Can't say enough wonderful things about the guy and his knowledge. I already recommended him to some of my gfs.

The first week I called I was told it was being referred to the spinal specialist and they would need to review it so they could schedule me. I called back the next week and was told they still had not reviewed it but they would send another message. I called the following week and was told it was still being reviewed but they would send an urgent message and I would hear back with 24 hours. I called back the next day and was told it takes 48 hours for a response to an urgent message. I called back the next week and they said they still did not have it. I called back again the following week and was told "Oh it's been accepted we can schedule you now". We scheduled for two weeks out. The next day I got a call saying that was an accident that I shouldn't have been scheduled because it had not been reviewed yet and they needed to cancel the appointment. Today I finally got a call saying we need to refer you to someone else. So it took 5 weeks for them to tell me that they need to send me somewhere else. Meanwhile I'm in pain and doing what I can to alleviate it. The administrative process is awful. People should not have e to wait 5 weeks for a case to be accepted or referred out. On top of that no one at the office even knew what was going on as I was given several different messages.

My (good) doctor wanted a ct scan to see the extent of the injury and all Dr. Komatsu did was another x-ray that showed the same thing I knew before and said I was healing. How would he know?? He never did the ct scan to see the damage, not to mention it took over a month for an appointment. This is my second bad experience with them. He just didn't care in the 10 minute appt I had talking to him. He didn't listen to what I was saying, I felt invisible. He showed me the brace I needed on Amazon so I could buy one!! Then he referred physical therapy so I could get a wrist brace from them and they don't even do that! It's like he wanted me to be someone else's problem. Don't waste your time with this place. So now I have a broken wrist and have no idea what to do...if I could give zero stars I would.
