They will mess up your order, then when you go and get it fixed they will mess up your new order.

We recently hosted a small, intimate dinner party at the Virginia Home Inn & were thrilled with our…read moreexperience. The owners of the Inn are Edward & William Lewis. Upon entering the Inn you will be invited to visit with your hosts in the main parlor. If you have not previously visited the Inn, you will also be invited to tour the historic property & will be given a mini history of the Inn. Please note that this is a working Bed & Breakfast Inn......the guest rooms are awesome as well. At the appropriate time you will be invited to take your seats in the adjacent dining room & your dining experience will begin. For my event we enjoyed their Fruit & Spring Greens Salad, Potage au Fromage, Citrus Glazed Cornish Game Hens, Edwards's Signature Dressing, Garlic Asparagus & Virginia Home Inn French Bread with Apricot Butter. The salad was awesome with many layers of flavor featuring blueberries, strawberries, apples & kiwi fruits with a Balsamic Dressing. The Potage au Fromage was delicious & delicately seasoned. Edward's Signature Dressing was a favorite with my entire group. The Cornish Game Hens were given a citrus glaze & stuffed with orange sections to infuse the citrus flavor throughout the hen. Garlic asparagus was a delicious side & balanced the citrus glazed poultry. The portions were very nicely sized for even the largest appetites. They make their own breads & they are served to you hot-from-the-oven with their signature butter creations. For my event William created a delicious Southern Chocolate Cake from his mother's recipe collection. The cake featured yellow layers with a cooked chocolate icing & was a delicious conclusion to our meal. I am so happy I chose the Inn for my special dinner party. Please note that this is a working Bed & Breakfast Inn......the guest rooms are awesome as well.

My husband and I tried Kornna Kitchen for the first time this past Friday evening and our…read moreexperience could not have been better. From the moment we walked in the door until the moment we left, we were taken care of and enjoyed every moment! First-the ambience is really cool. It is a large, open space, but it still feels warm with music playing and fireplaces playing on the big screens. We were greeted and sat immediately. The service was phenomenal. Our server, Richard, was friendly, prompt, and made sure we had a good experience. We were also checked in on and chatted with the owner(s) and it is clear they care about the business and community. We had the opportunity to try quite a few menu items and can honestly say I enjoyed everyone. To start, the sweet tea was delicious. Freshly brewed and the right amount of sweet. We also tried delicious mock tails. They will eventually serve alcohol, but in the meantime and for those who don't drink, the mock tails are fantastic. Classy and yummy. For an appetizer, we received the fried corn bites and oh my goodness, I could not get enough of these! Seasoned well and with a sweetness to them. They were piping hot when they hit the table and the star of dinner, to be honest. We got garden salads that were fresh and crisp. I ordered the shrimp basket and my husband got the DC Mumbo Chicken Tenderloins sandwich. The shrimp were large and the fries hot and crisp. My husbands sandwich was delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was amazing! For dessert we got cheesecake and homemade lemon pound cake. If I could marry a cake, I think I would. The pound cake was perfectly moist, very lemony, and melted in the mouth delectable. 10/10. We can't wait to dine here again!!

Where to begin? The AC is down, so it's quite warm in here, definitely too warm to enjoy dinner…read more Everything is... well worn and not very clean. Floors and tables are sticky. Every surface is grimy to the touch. Food and trash under every table despite it being middle of the afternoon and during a slow time. Several employees rushing around, never really standing still but yet a lot not getting done. Usually during slow times the tables are being wiped down, floors swept, and silverware rolled. As there was approximately one employee per table in the dining room, I can't say they were overworked. Our waiter was very rushed, although he only had the two tables. He was helping carry out food and drinks for the other waitresses, so he never slowed down moving. This also meant that he left before taking our complete order, never asked what dressings or sides we wanted with our dinners, and never answered our questions. I got the ribs and wanted the sweet BBQ but got the Asian sauce instead. I got a whole 6 fries for my side and a tiny sauce cup of coleslaw that ended up being soured. When I told our waiter, he just grabbed the cup and said "yeah sorry" as he walked away. The ribs were actually pretty meaty, just a bit dry which is to be expected at that time of day, just disappointing when added to the wrong sauce. The one good bit of the meal was the tea was excellent. Not overbrewed and with plenty of sugar to satisfy any southern grandma. For roughly $35 a person, very overpriced, overrated, and disappointing.
