This is a small place in Livermore. We came here after long 8 hrs drive. I wanted some no brainer food so ordered chicken dum biryani. But unfortunately it was over, on Sunday night that is acceptable. I asked him which Biryani has no nuts. They said special chicken Biryani, so we ordered it but my daughter still found cashews in it. I always find this very scary for nut allergy people. Later they told that Vijaywada Biryani has no nuts and gave us that Biryani. Both dishes are not real Biryani's, they look like chicken curry over rice. Special chicken biryani is mild creamy chicken over rice. Vijay wada is very spicy version. Taste was ok but my brain can't associate it with Biryani. I also tried Thagubothu chicken starter - it is like fried spicy dry chicken. This was very spicy and very very sour . I did not liked the sourness it was too much, I have never tasted such a dish, not sure how much Lemon or vinegar they added to it. From name Biryaniz I would expect better !!! read more

Now let me start by saying that we have been to their other locations several times before for the last 8 years. This we thought was our trusted chain . Other locations have been consistent. Thus we decided to try this location. There was zero service provided other than bringing the food out. We got Chicken biriyani, chole bhatura and gobi manchurian. Chicken biriyani - Was stale, dry, the chicken was definitely microwaved. Tasted bit off.Other pictures from the location clearly show a boiled egg. We didnt get one in ours. Now I understand there is an egg shortage - Business should inform patrons that egg is not included or ask if they are okay to be charged little extra for that egg. Chicken biriyani without egg doesnt quite go well. I am happy to pay extra. Chole bhatura - Only one medium sized bhatura was provided. Either places have one big bhatura or two medium sized bhatura. This was only one. Chole did taste good. Gobi manchurian - Had massive unmarinated, unseasoned pieces of cauliflower that were quickly batter fried. The outer covering and the tossed sauce definitely had good flavor but as soon as we bit into the cauliflower there was no flavor. It looked like this was made in hurry with massive pieces rather than cutting medium sized pieces that are well marinated and then batter fried. This location does not serve chai or coffee. Now that is mind boggling to me why an Indian restaurant would not have Chai or Coffee. Its definitely there on the menu but, I was told its not served at this location. I encourage this business to have dine-in cutlery and plates for indoor dining. I understand thats how biriyaniz all locations operate - all food served in to-go boxes and disposable plates. But, please provide reusable plates for indoor dining. We will definitely continue visiting other biriyaniz locations but remember to skip this one for sure. read more

I really like the flavor compositions of the dishes here. 1. The sambal is full of flavor and not watered down. The daal is also my fave style 2. The masala. Dosa has the best chunks of potato with real chilies, spices and herbs. extremely good potato filling, with fresh ingredients Biryanis are all really delicious. 3. The Vijayawada style are some of our favorite because they are so spicy 4. We also got the chana bhatura. We take part in having the delivery service that Comes to Brentwood --and look forward to it. Great spot for biryani in Livermore! My friend and I were looking for a biryani spot in the area, and this was one of the few places open Saturday at 4:30 pm, so we decided to come here. We wanted to get some appetizers and share one biryani, but we were told that the kitchen was closed and that they can only make a limited selection of biryani. Only 2 or 3 were available from the whole menu. Very disappointing. We ended up ordering two biryani: the chicken dum biryani ($14.99) and the mutton dum biryani ($15.99). Luckily, both were solid and made up for our disappointment. Each biryani came with sambar and raita on the side and was super flavorful. I especially enjoyed the hard boiled egg and the delicious crunchy onion bits mixed in. I liked the chicken dum biryani more than the mutton. There was more meat in the chicken vs the mutton, and I found the chicken biryani less spicy as well. Portions are big. My friend and I finished the chicken, but there was still quite a bit left of the mutton biryani. I took the leftovers home, and it still tasted fantastic the next day heated up. read more

While on my lunch break, I decided to try this place again, since they offered a new lunch menu sort of deal. For non-veggie curries, the price is $12.99, which is a pretty fair price in my opinion. You would get rice, naan bread, your entree and an appetizer. Butter Chicken Lunch Combo: Comparing to what I had last time, everything tasted the same, so the consistency was there. It is a lot cheaper than paying a la carte for all the items, but proportion is definitely lopsided. They give you way too much rice and not enough curry. In my butter chicken, I had maybe at most like 3-4 strips of chicken. At least I had enough curry to dip my naan into and pour over my rice, but the protein was lacking. The appetizer is a leg of chicken and that was tasty at least. Overall, the lunch combo is a good deal, but wish they pulled back on the rice a bit. read more

Finally an Indian restaurant close to work, the last two in the same location didn't make it. My lunch buddy from work and I arrived around 1:30pm and we were the only folks there. They did have several to go orders while we ate our lunch. When I go to Indian food, I usually get curry and naan bread and don't usually order biryani because I usually find it too dry. However the very helpful guys at the counter told me to try the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani because it's very good. Place is named after rice so I gave it a try. The food comes in a to go container and was HUGH with piled chicken in a curry sauce and a hard boiled egg, additional sauce and yogurt sauce on the side. Dished some food out on a provided paper plate and added the two sauces and It was very tasty. The chicken is chopped pieces of boneless thigh meat fried and then cooked in the sauce. Portion was so large I ate it in 3 servings. My friends goat curry was also tasty but their was more bones to meat. Garlic naan is a must with crispy crunchy charred areas. read more

My kids absolutely love their Special Chicken Biryani, and we really enjoyed the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani--full of flavor and perfectly spiced. The butter chicken is truly to die for. Starters like Mutton Ghee Roast, Srikanya Chicken Fry, and Chicken 65 really stand out with great taste and generous portions. It's a fantastic place for both family dining and takeout, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We've also catered from here many times, and every variety has been a hit. I got advertised by Facebook of their 50% promotion. The restaurant is located at the 88 Seafood Supermarket shopping center on North Vasco Road. I got there at 11:05am and saw that they were still preparing, so I went to the supermarket. Had I known they were open, I would have ordered sooner. Anyways, fast forward to 11:22am and I saw a couple go into the store so I followed suit and headed inside the store. I overheard the cashier mentioned that it'll be ready by 1pm for the customer in front of me, so I bought a few items. I ordered at 11:30am a Chicken Biryani, Chicken Lollipop, Butter Chicken and a Garlic Naan. The cashier asked for my name and I told them "Wilson". We had a moment where he mentioned that was his favorite movie, Castaway. I get that a lot because of my name. I got a receipt for my order, even though it wasn't my receipt when I looked at the receipt. He said to come back at 1pm so I went ahead and walked around in the supermarket nearby for a bit. I was done by 12:30p and went back to the restaurant. At this point, it looked like the restaurant wasn't taking any more walk in or phone orders because they either ran out of food or oversold. From what I gathered, there were a lot more phone orders than walk in orders. By the time I went back inside, I saw a couple dozen paper take out bags ready for pick up. There were several cashiers there trying to take in phone orders and walk-ins but by then, they turned off the OPEN sign and turned off the screen and had to tell customers they were no longer taking more orders. That sucks for anyone thinking they could just walk in and order. I waited a few more minutes and it was my turn in line and asked them if my food was ready. They remembered my name and me and checked on my order. They said 10 more minutes. "That's fine", I said. It was their first day, and it was a little chaotic so I gave them the benefit of the doubt there. They did offer me a small chai tea and that hit the spot at least. About 12 minutes later, they called my name and I picked up my food. I checked to make sure it was there because I didn't want to drive another 20 minutes back to here... Food passed the "look good" test so I drove back home. When I got home, I fixed myself a small plate of all the things I ordered. FOOD RATING: Chicken Lollipop - Think Fried Chicken with spices, it was pretty good! It wasn't spicy at all. It was a little over fried IMO, but very crunchy. (4/5) Butter Chicken - Pretty mellow flavors. Taste as good as I had it anywhere in the South Bay. Not as strong, but decent (4/5) Chicken Dum Biryani - Good overall flavors. Was it the best I had, no clue. I don't think it was the best. The flavors were there though, but on the light side. (4/5) Garlic Naan - Lotsa garlic and butter. Enjoyed it with the butter chicken! (5/5) Free chai tea - Flavorful. The cashier said there was sugar on the table, but I'm a naturalist, and like it pure. It was tasty (5/5) CUSTOMER SERVICE: Overall, I would give the customer service a 5/5 for recognizing me since I was there early. I know they were slammed with customers so I get why some Yelpers didn't feel like they were heard. I hope to go back there when things are less hectic and I can try something else. read more

The biryanis seemed pre-cooked and then microwaved upon order, which was disappointing. While the restaurant shows potential, the current quality of the food is lacking. They make good naans during lunch so I was pleased with the quality and taste. However when i placed a takeout order they put a pre made naan which was mostly microwaved and tasted like rubber. You guys charge a premium for naans so live up to the standards. I can get better naans at grocery stores. I ordered to go food items today with Veggie Biryani and excitedly ordered Andhra Dal seeing it in the menu. The food made me think if really this is Andhra Dal or just boiled dal and they forgot to mix anything else in it including salt. After coming home, when I tasted it was the most horrible bland dal which even a sick person wouldn't eat. I had to add and recook it with basic spices and salt to make it palatable. Please see the pics attached, I was wondering what's the point of getting dal and paying for it if I have to work on it at home. Biryani was ok with overpowering garam masala. I don't think after taking dal from this restaurant I will even try dal anywhere in coming times. Service was just pick up and ambiance was ok. The two stars are just because of Biryani. read more

I think this place has some great food options for Indian cuisine. My favorite here though is the live pani puri counter over the weekends. Just SO perfectly done with warm filling and cool spiced water. I can't type this without my mouth watering haha . So yes truly great pani puri...but not cheap! It's 10 bucks for a plate with I don't know how many but I can only eat 5 so it's wasted on me. And also so sad that there's no other chaat options yet Rest of the food is pretty good. We've only done takeout here so not sure I can comment on the service or ambiance. read more

We ordered panner tikka masala, naan and paneer takoda. Food was not fresh. We just felt it was few days old gravy or paneer. Next day all of us had upset stomach and food poisoning. I would not recommend this place for fresh food lovers. We pay to get hygienic food at restaurants not to get sick and suffer. read more

The place opened with a bang and has slowly settled down. It is across the street making it easier to do a pick up. I recommend having dosa, chilli paneer and vijaywada biryanis from the store. Avoid samosas as they are fried twice. read more

We are a regular at the Livermore Biryaniz since it opened around a year back. Food is always delicious and fresh. Some of our favorites are- Chicken Dum Biryani, tandoori roti, garlic naan, samosa, tea, Pani puri, paneer kabab and kadhai paneer. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I am glad that we finally have some decent Indian restaurant for the Biryani lovers and Vegetarian group alike in the neighborhood. They are NEW and so slowly building up to their MENU, which is understandable. The Chicken Pulao special on weekends is a MUST .....the best in trivalley...hands down....this coming from a Biryani/Pulao foodie expert :) . I wish if they could make it an everyday menu. I absolutely love Indian Cuisine and was super happy when another place opened in Livermore and on the east side of town. I ordered the butter chicken for the kids, the Malai Kofta for me, and two orders of naan. The butter chicken was a 4.5/5 and was spicy. I loved it but it was a little much for the kids. It also had cashews in it which I wish was labeled on the menu. Sansar doesn't have cashews in their butter chicken (most places dont't). My daughter has an allergy to nuts. The Malai kofta was 3/5. The flavor was great but there were only four potatoes and I would have preferred them to be cut up more. I think next time I will get the paneer tikka masala. The plain naan was very fluffy and perfectly cooked. The rice was good but I wish it did not have cinnamon in it. I like the basmati rice to be plain. The staff was super friendly and the place was clean with a great atmosphere. I hope this place sticks around. My suggestions are (1) do not include cinnamon in the rice, (2) clearly label foods with common allergies like nuts, dairy, soy..., (3) expand the menu more.
