Stopped in for lunch for the winter Sawdust Festival. Their lunch option for veggie or non-veg Thali is excellent. I chose Yellow dal Taaka; my daughter Desi Chicken Curry. Both were delicious. The standard side dishes: Aloo Matar; Dal of the Day; basmatic rice, salad and naan were delicious. Light but tasty. Perfect lunch portions. We got there about 12:45 on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and they had to turn down customers within the hour. It was a smart move to turn away customers versus poor service. I'll be back.

Such a sweet spot! The atmosphere is warm and inviting--a true hidden gem just minutes from Laguna Beach. The food was delicious, and everything felt fresh and well-prepared. It's definitely a place worth visiting to enjoy both great flavors and a relaxing vibe. Highly recommend checking it out!

Amazing food, great service, lovely ambiance: what more could you ask for? Absolutely loved the buttered chicken!

Amazing food, beautiful ambiance, and amazing service, what more could you ask for? Absolutely loved the Buttered Chicken and the calm place.

So called 'Premium Vegan Biryani Meal Set' that isn't vegan.

This review is mostly for the vegans. There's no place socal that serves vegan biryani, so we usually make it ourselves. Imagine our delight when we finally doing a place that does! We were incredibly excited to try their vegan biryani with jackfruit. We ordered the Premium Vegan Biryani Meal Set. Imagine our disappointment when it arrived and we found out that almost nothing was vegan. Biryani had paneer (cottage cheese), ghee and no jackfruit even though the menu said it was a vegan jackfruit biryani. There was raita (yoghurt) on side (instead of salan) and gulab jamun. I couldn't even find a vegetarian option in their menu, so it does not seem like an order mix up, but a genuine lack of understanding of what vegan means. Taste wise, those who ate it found it lacking spice and flavor. The presence of broccoli and peas is just weird. Portion wise they aren't bigger than any of the other places that charge about half the price for more authentic biryani if you're not vegan. Please don't advertise a menu item as vegan if it is not.

Spicy chicken biryani

This is a take out place where they only have 3 items on their menu [biryanis] and a couple of appetizers. Thats it! So, I was excited to try, and got their spicy chicken biryani. It was very disappointing. The rice was very lightly flavored, with occasional mildly spiced chicken pieces. To call it Biryani would be a stretch of imagination. 1/5 It also comes with a cucumber salad which was ok, 3/5 Raitha was ok too. 3/5 They also give one piece of gulab jamun which was the only part of the meal which is good. 3.5/5 At 27$, they are about 25% over the other places and with such bland food, I wouldn't visit again.

Chicken Biryani was very well marinated and tender. It was delicious to eat. I would order it again. It was a lot to eat in one setting so I save half for dinner. Salad, Green Chutney and Dessert were deliciously fresh tasting. Green Chutney definitely paired well chicken/rice. Chicken Biryani reminded me of Pho ingredients/favlors consisting of star anise and cinnamon sticks. I stumbled upon Biryani Hunter online. It was a very ineresting experience because I could not find the store. The address did not include "Suite F". Once entered as customer to pick up food, there was not any humans except a TV giving directions plus many small cameras for each individual restaurants. Well, I eventually figured it out and got my food. I rang the Camera bell and a staff came out smiling, said Thank you and delivered my food. You could order in person (self-serve kiosk) once you arrived. There are many other restaurants that you can self-order as well. There are tables outside in the parking area if you want to sit down but it was more of a pick-up and go kind of food.

My friend and I had a great experience here! The owner, Ranjeet was so kind and made an effort to check in on all the guests dining in his restaurant. He also offered us chai tea on the house, which was delicious. And not to mention the food here had incredible presentation and a ton of flavor. Overall, would highly recommend!

It's a takeout restaurant and they specialize in Biryani. They also modify the spice level if you call them in advance. Good Biryani

PROS: Delicious Indian food! Got the 2-item weekend lunch special with vegetable rice, garlic naan…read more& yogurt dipping sauce for $13.99+ tax. Chicken Tikka Masala- aromatic spices are on point. Creamy, spicy, savory and tangy sauce. The texture of the chicken was soft and tender. Good comfort food, it's become my personal favorite! Palak- equally tasty, this creamed spinach with mild herbs was savory. Garlic naan- thumbs up! Soft and chewy, perfect for dipping with the yogurt or tikka masala sauce. STAFF: friendly owner CONS: Sign on bathroom door was misleading. It clearly says "Out of Order", but wasn't out of order. Had to ask the owner if I can use it, and he ok'd me using it. Dining establishments that offer on-site dining should provide functional restrooms to patrons. I believe someone had previously mention the restroom issue among the reviews and it needs to be addressed. For this reason, had to knock off 1 star.

While trying to write a review on them tonight, I noticed that I have already reviewed Tandoori India Cuisine before. It's a very small restaurant and they have a buffet bar station set up at lunch hour. However, you can't help yourself to the buffet. The owner will serve from the buffet bar once you order. They have good deals on their lunch specials. I had the tika masala and it was very good. I requested the garlic naan and that was also very good. The bread was soft and chewy, and I can taste the garlic flavor. Lunch special also comes with a small side of dessert, which i opted out. I do not like the Indian dessert. I've seen it on the Indian buffet all the times but never eaten it. Too sweet for me.

The chicken tikka masala was not anything spectacular as I have had better elsewhere. But it definitely hit the spot. The samosa and the paneer were stars as each bite produced additional flavors which continued to build on each other. I could just eat these two dishes forever. We tried the dosa and the goat. The dosa was perfectly crispy when it was hot. I personally didn't enjoy eating it as leftovers the next day. But I couldn't stop eating it and dipping it in all the curries and sauces when it was piping hot. The goat surprised me as I'm not a huge fan of lamb or goat. But the flavor profile and the spices made this a dish that was more flavorful than our usual go to tikka masala. Will definitely come here again and again.

I tried the gol gappa, chicken samosa, beef biryani, malai chicken, beef nihari, channa chaat, chicken Tikka masala. Gol gappa - although they had the liquids, I couldn't find the stuffing to put in it. It was very plain. Chicken samosa - this was food. The crunch of the samosa with the filling inside dipped with green chutney was the right flavor. Beef biryani - when I saw this dish swinging by before the people started linning up, it looked super promising. But by the time it was my number in line, it was mostly yellow rice leftover. People must have pulled all the meat. Very disappointing. Beef nihari - this has little to no flavor that you would expect from this dish. Chicken Tikka masala - this was better and had a good taste. Channa - it was a mix of chaat and a cholay salan and failed to stick out on either. Malai chicken - it was okay. Overall the experience was better. Still getting fresh naan to the table. But food taste is still mediocre. The chai was also not right. Needed more milk.
