The front desk at the time was also very friendly. The problem is this: After the intake, I scheduled a follow up appointment for additional imaging, only because I was assured (by both the doctor and front desk!) that the office would check my insurance for imaging coverage and follow up with me directly. Instead, no one contacted me at all until I reached out myself days before my x-ray appointment, only to be told (for the first time) that I never qualified for coverage in the first place, and that I'd supposedly already been informed at my first visit. When I pointed out the mismatch between what I was told and what was now being claimed, the office dodged responsibility rather than acknowledge any communication failure. "Hey, so sorry no one reached out to you to follow up. We'll make an effort to fix that in the future." That's really all it would have taken. Instead they went with "We never said that, we already told you." Which is honestly just...why do that? So weird. Tldr: great doctor, but if you go here then get all your communications in writing because their admin WILL gaslight you if they make a mistake. Especially so if you have any doubts at all about how they deal with insurance.

I requested he confirm my coverage so he could be assured the Dr. would be fully paid, he snippily refused. He also erroneously said pre-authorization prohibits the Dr's ability to receive any further payment from me (if I wasn't fully covered -- which I am). Just off the phone with my insurer, who contradicted all he had told me, and attempted to call to straighten things out. It went right to voice mail. Twice. Moving on to a different provider, but thought others should know.

I hate to leave negative reviews but here you go.

I OWE MY LIFE TO 3 PHYSICIANS, 1 OF WHOM IS DR. BANDLA…read more ************* This is not an average review, as I am not an average patient. Perhaps by sharing my story, such as it is, others will see the value in Sleep Care & Medicine so that they might seek help sooner --not later-- and perhaps place that care in the capable hands of Dr. Bandla. ************************* -A BIT OF BACKGROUND- I lost years of my life to "Sleep Apnea": due to the poor health it caused --unnecessarily so-- because I ignored my doctors' suggestions to see a "Sleep Specialist" for a "Sleep Study" (I heard these words within quotations VERY often, and maybe you have as well: from a concerned spouse, friend, or doctor?). When it was suggested to me, I not so much as 'decided' a Sleep Specialist wasn't a priority, but I let time pass without pursuing it: ie, I did not MAKE it a priority. But trust me, IT SHOULD BE. Because of that, let me tell you what my future became: my untreated & disordered sleep would be THE contributing factor to my deteriorating health for those two years. I've only now learned that those symptoms are scientifically documented consequences due to chronically poor sleep or chronic lack of it. BELOW: some of said symptoms: Severe fatigue & sleepiness, lassitude, swings between insomnia to severe over-sleeping; memory loss, thought disorganization, cognitive impairment incl. word-finding, forgetfulness; emotional dysregulation, impatience, depression w/suicidal ideation; heart palpitations, body temperature irregularity, weight gain & muscle loss; severe nerve pain, esp. the extremities; headaches, light sensitivity, hearing changes/loss + sensitivity. & more minor symptoms. Finally I'd had enough and lined up any specialist I could think of: (literally) Endocrinology, Hematology, Neurology, Neurovascular, Audiology + ENT, Pain MGMT, and even Gynocology! All were "fine" and said "see a SLEEP SPECIALIST & do a Sleep Study!!!". I finally got the hint and out of sheer luck, my doc was Dr. Bandla. *************** -THE DOCTOR- At my initial apt, Dr. Bandla asked a few questions to prompt me, then carefully listened to my confused babble about my symptoms, and somehow he understood, never getting frustrated nor short. Once he got the necessary information, he explained everything very carefully until I understood every detail: what my diagnosis likely is, why he believes that is, and then what the next steps will be from there. (And he was right about all his predictions, by the way). A Sleep Study was next, and he made sure every single detail was taken care of: for ex, he made sure a special Mouth-Breathing Sensor would be available for my study after I mentioned having chronic sinus issues. The help & time he spent with me is incredibly rare in today's medical system, and thanks to Swedish for accommodating that kind of care (too often time & money outweigh care. That was n not my experience here). **************************** -ABOVE & BEYOND- Any time I have called or emailed, Dr. Bandla would respond immediately, and he himself would respond personally most often (that is VERY rare these days). The most significant gesture was during my second Sleep Study where I would be "test-driving" a special C-PAP. That Friday night, as my tech helped me get situated, she explained how she'll call the doctor once I'm asleep. I asked what she meant and turns out, he was at home and was staying up late on his Friday night, waiting, just to hear how I was doing. I'm a well spoken person, but I struggle to adequately describe how touched I was from such a gesture. ********************* -CONCLUSION- I was eventually diagnosed and have been using the treatment machine, worn at night, for nearly a month. My body and my life is changing rapidly (It's the best diet & religion rolled into one: HEALED all while you sleep!). I have a rarer type of apnea called Central Sleep Apnea caused by my brain, not the throat like most folks. At night my brain stops telling my lungs to breathe, and my breathing literally stops, as if I've died. With treatment via the machine, my prognosis is very good. So, if you're in the Pacific Northwest, I highly recommend Swedish Sleep Medicine (Redmond or Seattle). There's a reason I drive 4hrs round-trip to be a Swedish patient, time and again. I am and always will be eternally grateful to Preetam Bandla and to his family for allowing us -his patients- to borrow him from you so that we may return to ours. -A.

As a dentist, I have the unfair advantage of knowing who is the best in our field (Dr. Bockow is…read morethe best!). I am so happy I saw case examples and learned of Dr. Bockow's work at two different dentistry continuing education courses. She really is at the top of our field, and airway issues were a major concern for us. Dr. Bockow treats the whole person, whole body health, in addition to straightening the teeth. I realized my son had all the signs and symptoms of an airway issue. He wasn't growing well, snored, mouth breathed, was sick all of the time, had anxiety, night terrors, and also was grinding his teeth. My son just finished upper and lower expansion with Dr. Bockow and all of his symptoms have resolved completely. My son is very articulate for a 7 year old and told me he feels more rested when he wakes up in the morning after finishing treatment. His anxiety is also much better and I know it's related to his improved quality of sleep. In addition to feeling better his face looks healthier. His adult teeth are coming in straight with periodontal support because they have room to erupt where they should. We are so grateful to Dr. Bockow and her team for helping improve our son's overall health and well being. I am starting adult orthodontic treatment with her this summer and feel completely confident in her treatment planning, especially with her background as a dual trained periodontist and orthodontist. We travel from out of town to see Dr. Bockow and now have multiple friends/colleagues doing the same!

I see the results. I have the ability to go in office for check ups or do photos. My boys love everyone in the office. They are great with kids. I'm excited to see the outcome and I couldn't be happier with this entire office.

After investing significant time and multiple trips to the office, communication became increasingly frustrating and inconsistent. I was told my appliance appointment had to be rescheduled because of a delay, only to later receive a termination letter ending the provider-patient relationship due to an alleged "breakdown in the therapeutic relationship." What bothered me most was not simply the termination, but the lack of clear, straightforward communication regarding the status of treatment already in progress. Matters that should have been simple became unnecessarily complicated. If you are considering this clinic, I would strongly encourage asking detailed questions upfront about billing, insurance coverage, timelines, and how unresolved treatment plans are handled if issues arise. This was an unexpectedly stressful and disappointing experience.

My appointment was my first visit after initiating pap therapy for sleep apnea. I needed to switch doctors after an insurance change. My sleep study indicated I had sleep apnea as well as higher than typical sleep efficiencies. I also had a consistent sleep schedule, no difficulty falling asleep, frequent awakenings without difficulty returning to sleep, and solid sleep hygiene. Instead of helping me with discomfort caused by congestion or adjusting my pap from the initial settings, Dr Peters-Mathews marketed his online course and book as treatment. I left the visit feeling that an insomnia diagnosis was applied despite a differential that included several more probable explanations for my symptoms, and that the recommended CBT-I materials were not applicable to my situation. When I raised these concerns with Virginia Mason, the internal review appeared superficial and failed to consider critical aspects of my case, including my sleep study results and the context of this being my initial PAP follow-up. I was told that the course and book were for "patient support," not treatment, leaving me without any meaningful medical care during the visit.
