It was this very store that opened my eyes to a variety of cream cakes. It was only when I moved away from the Derby area, did I realize it was a regional specialty. For many years I would return and devour a huge selection of their cream cakes to make up for the times there has been a drought. My favourites include their cream bun, trifle, vanilla cream slice, cream meringue and apple puff. They also do confectionary, breads and savoury pasties/pies. The quality of their meat pies/slices have rapidly declined since the changing of their name from Bragg's to Gregg's - or as the long term gag is "Dregg's". They do specials too at different times of the year ie, ginger bread men for Christmas, or little bunny biscuits for Easter or hot cross buns.
