We chose Goddard after trying others and found that it, and owner Sheeba Mathew have no equal. Ms. Sheeba knows the name of every child, every parent, every sibling, and in some cases even the grandparents of every child who is currently or has ever been a member of the Goddard family. Beyond keeping our children safe and comfortable, Ms. Sheeba and her incredible staff of administrators and teachers provide a wonderful foundation for kids to learn and grow. There is very little teacher turnover, which is great because it gives stability at an age where kids tend to really need it. When you see your kids eyes light up as they run into the classroom and hug their teachers, you just know you've made the right call. The education provided at Goddard is also outstanding. My 5 year old son has learned not just reading and numbers but science and history. He's learned about the world that surrounds him goes well beyond his Maryland zip code. I've watched him thrive in this beautiful, amazing environment. It's been incredible. This week we say goodbye to the school we love. Next week he will start kindergarten. His years at Goddard have prepared him for this, and I am beyond grateful. He is ready to achieve great things. Though both his heart and mine break at the thought of leaving, we know that we will remain part of that special community Ms. Sheeba has created and we remain eternally thankful for it. Tango Esta Noche offers two levels of classes: Beginner and Intermediate…read more The beginner classes come as a set that takes the student from the basic walk and progressively introduces the basics to the student. The consistency of this class allows a student to repeat it and reinforce everything he/she learned. The intermediate classes are much more dynamic and the material is always changing. These classes are great for those who are confident in their foundation in Argentine Tango. Due to the small class sizes, gender imbalance fluctuations occur. However, the class utilizes a rotating partner scheme (common in social dance classes). Of course, I find the time without a partner is a great time to observe. The instructors, Roger and Claire, are passionate about tango, but have a specific style of instruction as well as a particular style of tango. Ultimately, the only way you'll know if you'll enjoy the classes is to attend one and see for yourself. Not directly related, but an additional nice thing I like is that water is provided.

No longer having her was a blessing in surprise as now he's in a place where he learns daily, from talking to social skills. Let's start with the caregivers, who've all been very pleasant and understanding. We especially like "Miss Meg", who knows every little child by name and recognizes their personalities and behaviors. Just the other day she was professionally reigning in a child that was being a bit of a bully, teaching some ethical behavior. All of the caregivers are polite, professional, and ready to talk with you about anything. They keep a daily log on food, naps, diapers, and what the child was up to, all to discuss with the parent at the end of the day. I've even had them gladly change my son if he's due for a new diaper right when I show up to take him home. Even better, they're going to help potty train him... oh yeah! Then we look at the facility, which is larger than it appears and full of everything for a growing mind. The toddler room has plenty of toys, including building blocks, and all the amenities of a school. An in-house kitchen is used to serve proper food, they use one of the larger areas (for older kids) to have a weekly movie afternoon, and they have plenty of outdoor play area that the children use regularly. There is also a locked front door with a security keypad, to ensure school safety. The only downside is the price, and even then it's average for the area. You can expect to pay upwards of $400/week for babies, dropping to about $300/week once they're over two and continuing to drop after that. It seems expensive, but considering you're basically putting them into pre-preschool, and you can see the value. You do have to call and make sure they have any openings, but La Petite is part of a larger chain of day cares throughout the area, so they may have other locations that might work as well. If you're in need of some place for your little one, then I can't recommend La Petite enough!

Every single employee has been kind, caring, and receptive to questions or feedback. The curriculum is child-led, nature-based, and reflexive. I love the cottage system - it really sets the school apart. Most of the school has received new furniture (including the new loft!) and it looks amazing. Ms. Melissa and Ms. Hanna are amazing leaders who listen and pivot when needed. They really listen; the moral compass of the school is the child. Your child will experience natural learning in a real way. They are only young once; why not give them the best experience they possibly could have?

Ms Susan and Ms Kimi have been great and the administration staff is super attentive and friendly. The school is clean and well run. Their communication has been excellent and they take great care of our son. We particularly like the SproutAbout app which provides regular activity updates on everything from bottle feeding to activities which makes us feel like we are involved even while away and provides a sense of security in understanding what transpires during the day. Thankfully there were assistants who helped the group as needed. So you do have to come back for a separate class to glaze your pottery. I'm not sure if that was explained in the initial booking.
