Our child was pretty nervous about getting braces, but Dr. Sharma and her staff did a wonderful job making the experience comfortable. At the first appt they explained, what the treatment would look like, the duration and what to expect during the treatment. It was very interactive session and she answered all our questions. The staff never made our child feel rushed or overwhelmed during appts. After a few visits, the nervousness was completely gone. The staff knows how to work with kids and makes orthodontic appointments feel much less intimidating. We've been very happy with the care so far. My son's smile has improved a lot. He is only couple of months away from getting braces out. Also not to mention for an orthodontist's office their fees are very competitively priced. read more

I had braces when I was younger, but unfortunately didn't keep up with my retainers, so I ended up needing braces again as an adult. Dr. Sharma and her entire staff have been wonderful throughout the process. They've been helpful, patient, and made the whole experience much easier than I expected. One thing I really appreciate is that appointments are consistently on time, which makes a big difference with a busy schedule. The location next to Costco, Newark is also incredibly convenient. I can often combine my orthodontic appointment with a Costco run. I'm very happy with the care I've received from Dr. Sharma and the team and would definitely recommend them to anyone considering orthodontic treatment, especially as an adult. read more

THIS IS THE BEST ORTHODONTICS PLACE!!! My teeth shifted into a moderate open bite during pregnancy; I couldn't even bite through a pickle postpartum. The dental office where I get my cleanings has a visiting orthodontist so I asked him for an opinion about getting aligners. He said aligners were "impossible" and I would need braces for 2.5 years. I didn't want to commit to braces for that long so I found this place thanks to the reviews and thank goodness I did! I was told during my consultation that aligners were INDEED possible. The news got even better when I was informed that my treatment plan would only be a year long and the cost was $2000 less than what I was quoted for the braces from the other orthodontist I consulted. Dr. Sharma is amazing! She and the entire office team are so welcoming and kind! I know some people dread going to the orthodontist, but not me! I always looked forward to my appointments and seeing the incredible team at BirchTree. I call them my besties now because they are truly so sweet! I am happy to report that 51 weeks after my initial appointment here, my teeth are absolutely perfect and I can bite into a pickle no problem (lol). Seriously, give this place a try! I love my results and I hope you will too! Thank you so much Dr. Sharma and everyone at BirchTree!! :) read more

My biggest fear about braces was pain. Dr Sharma was very upfront that there would be some soreness after adjustments but explained exactly what to expect and how to manage it. She was right. The first few days after each adjustment are tender but completely manageable. Dr Sharma called me to check on me as I was very nervous. The team always checks in to see how I am doing. Having that honest conversation upfront made all the difference. I would rather know what is coming than be surprised. Coordination with insurance was smooth. All in all no surprises anywhere in the process, no pushy sales and full transparency. 5/5 I recommend them. read more

Update on Dec 17, 2025 PM hrs -- Response to Dr. Sarma's note - Thank you, Dr. Sharma, for taking the time to respond and for reviewing the feedback. I appreciate that changes were made to the appointment reminder language in response to patient input. I would like to clarify why I attached screenshots. During our many years under **Dr. Wong**, including as recently as **April** , our appointment reminders did not include cancellation or missed-appointment penalty language. The reminder highlighted in red reflects what we consistently received during that time, while the other reminders that are highlighted in black shared were sent after the ownership transition. The attachments are just few examples. To be clear, we have never been charged any penalty--my feedback was about the **tone and frequency of the messaging**, not an actual charge. My comments about the atmosphere and interactions were intended to reflect how the experience felt during recent visits. I appreciate your explanation regarding the open floor plan and your involvement in care, and I'm glad to hear that patient comfort is a priority. My intent was not to question anyone's professionalism, but to clearly convey how the experience felt to a long-standing patient during a period of transition. I'm encouraged that this feedback has already led to adjustments, and I genuinely hope the practice continues to preserve the warmth, trust, and continuity that so many families valued under Dr. Wong and his long standing team. _________________________________________________________________________ Review from Dec 17, 2025 AM hrs The rating is purely based on the new mgmt take over exp & not Dr. Wong's or the services provided by his long standing staff. We've been patients of this orthodontic practice for 8-10 years under **Dr. Wong**. We originally came here through a referral, and over the years we've confidently referred many others as well. The office was always bustling--every station filled--built on trust and word of mouth rather than heavy marketing. Until recent times our experience was excellent. Dr. Wong wasn't overly chatty, but he had a quiet warmth and genuine care that made you feel confident and respected. You always felt he knew your child's history and truly cared about the outcome. I also want to recognize the staff--**Kimberly, Jennifer, Rena, front desk receptionist (forgot her name) and the dental assistants**--who have always been consistently kind, professional, and attentive. Even when Dr. Wong was traveling, his team stepped in seamlessly to care for my child, which speaks volumes about the culture he built. Since the practice transitioned to **Dr. Manu Sharma**, the experience has changed. In the last two visits under Ms Sharma the appointments felt rushed (1 min literally) and impersonal (robotic), with little acknowledgment of treatment history. The overall atmosphere now feels more uptight and transactional. During last visit from 2 weeks ago she was standing nearby and eavesdropping in on our conversation which felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. I was shocked with the unprofessionalism!! Another noticeable change is the **frequent emphasis on cancellation penalties in nearly every communication**. While I understand the need for policies--and to be clear, we have never been charged any penalty--the repeated messaging feels excessive and contributes to a rigid tone that wasn't previously part of this practice. I fully understand that transitions take time, but when taking over a well-established practice with such a strong reputation, it's important to first understand and honor the existing culture before reshaping it. I am genuinely concerned about how the practice will evolve once **Dr. Wong fully steps away**, and whether the ;policies, values of care, trust, and continuity that defined this office will be preserved. This feedback comes from a long-standing patient who truly valued what this practice represented and hopes it can continue to live up that standard. read more

My kid was a patient under Dr Wong, after he retired we continued with Dr Sharma. Really happy with all the new changes brought under new leadership. Very efficient appointments run by the new doctor and staff has always been super nice. The office and the building has modern feel unlike typical dental office. Dr Sharma is also super nice with young patients. She always remembers us by names and exactly remembers the case history. Highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a good place to get braces. read more

A trustworthy orthopedic staff and family friendly establishment. My brother and I went here for braces.. now my daughter and a few of her classmates go. Easy building area, plenty of parking and directions to find their office. My daughter's dentist had recommended her to see an orthodontist. I reached out to Dr. Wongs office. The first appointment was great. They had my daughter take a series of photos / xrays that showed her teeth. Dr. Wong met with me and my daughter to go over what his plan of action would be. He is a very polite and knowledgeable orthodontist. He went through all the photos thoroughly and answered all my questions. I then met with another staff member to go over a plan of payment. Everyone was very nice and helpful. True, they are very strict with how they operate. I remember my younger self going through the list of requirements, when/ how to schedule appointments and food not to eat. Now I my daughter is and I am hearing an updated version. Although, nothing seemed out of hand. For example if you break a bracket they have only a few appointments later in the day that will be available. Like every establishment, appointment times are sensitive and communication is key. Let's just say, they run a tight ship because they really take care of their clients! Now, I did not reach out to anyone else when it came to my daughter, my friends have. I know of two families that have had first appointments elsewhere and have picked Dr. Wong. I have had no issues with my process and none with my daughter so far. Fun Fact: When you're done with your braces journey, you get your picture on the wall w Dr Wong. Pro Mommy Tip: When you have an appointment during a school day always ask when you check in to your appointment for the school excused slip. Once the appointment is over, next one is made and you say bye.. you'll forget! Lol. read more

This review is long overdue! I've seen Dr. Wong on and off (due to moving in and out of the Bay Area) since early 2000s when I was a preteen until now in my late 30s. I had my braces done with him back in the day when Invisalign wasn't as common, and I have had my retainers done every now and then by him. 20 years later, I had invasalign done by a different orthodontist only because I was living elsewhere far away. If I was close by, I would have gone back to Dr. Wong. My brother had his Invisalign done by Dr. Wong. I highly recommend Dr. Wong for any orthodontic care. I am very picky when it comes to selecting any doctor, dentist, optometrist, etc. because I value taking care of my health. I do a ton of research on each person before picking them. Dr. Wong is not only the best orthodontist, but the best healthcare professional I have EVER met. He trained at Harvard! That alone should convince you he's the best. Besides being super knowledgeable and a great communicator, he explains details well and is good at making you feel comfortable. He's very friendly. His office is very clean. His staff are excellent communicators, kind, and provide the best customer service. I have found him to be affordable. I would strongly encourage you to look no further. I have done the research and have had the best experience here with Dr. Wong AND his staff. That's a hard combination to have. He's going to give you a great smile! I just finished an appt with him and his assistant Reyna found an old Invisalign attachment on my back molar that the other orthodontist left 2 years ago. Crazy that the original orthodontist and none of the dentists I've seen since then noticed! read more

Orthodontist and their team here transformed my smile in ways I never thought possible. After years of feeling self-conscious about my teeth and smile as a working professional, their team customized an Invisalign plan that was comfortable and effective. Doctor and the staff were incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and supportive throughout the process - always answering my questions with a smile. The office is modern and welcoming, and the results speak for themselves: straight, beautiful teeth that boost my confidence every day. If anyone is considering orthodontics, don't look anywhere else - This office is top-notch! Five stars without hesitation. read more

I was referred to Dr. Wong by my dentist to help with pain, a cross bite, and overall teeth alignment. From the moment I was greeted into the office, I felt welcomed by the sweet and caring admins. They helped me figure out insurance issues when my husband got laid off and our insurance situation was unstable. Dr. Wong did an amazing job explaining what the issue was with my teeth and bite. He always made it a point to answer any questions I had along the way. I also got married in the middle of my treatment and Dr. Wong took off the front anchors of the invisiline and polished my teeth so that I was picture ready. Then when I got back he kindly added the anchors back on. Today I received my retainer and I am in love with my new smile and also thankful for no more pain! Thank you so much Dr. Wong, this was such a great experience and I would highly recommend any one to him for ortho. read more

I first met Dr. Wong through a family friend in the early 2000's. Back then, I remember getting braces and having to wear cervical headgear due to a bad overbite that I had. I eventually got my braces removed in 2005 when I was in the 8th grade. Not long after, I was told I had to wear retainers so my teeth don't shift and are able to maintain its new shape. I still see Dr. Wong every few years or so to get my retainers replaced with new ones. Whenever I have questions, Dr. Wong always responds with a detailed answer. Him and his staff have been very accommodating and nice. I would highly recommend Dr. Wong if you are looking for a knowledgeable and professional orthodontist. Here is a photo of Dr. Wong and I from 2005 when I got my braces removed. read more

With no worries, I can now laugh freely, safe from the occasional teasing of friends who aren't used to my open smile. Has it been 3 years? Time went by very fast and smoothly, I really cannot tell. Very BAD Experience. Their attitude is so rude, so hard to work with and not caring their patient. I do not recommend it if you are considering it, especially in a long term. They schedule me appointment at 8am and told me that's the only spot we have. We are fully book. If you are 10-15 min late, they'll BLAME YOU for not calling ahead. And this is not the first time it happens. In a long term process with Invisalign, do not choose them because they are very time sensitive and so hard to communicate with 0 flexibility. They do not care about patient experience at all! And my GUM HEALTH is impacted. My general dentist recommended me to stop doing Invisalign because it causes serious gum recession. It made me worried so much (my dentist, too) and lost trust because what Dr Wong told me is that he feels ok to move my teeth a bit more. My CONCERN about gum health hasn't been addressed properly. Anyways, being a patient in Dr Wong's office is very unpleasant. And I'm not happy with it. read more

Doctor Wong is a teeth god! He seriously works miracles. My oldest had a disaster of a mouth, major crowding. Imagine a mouthful of crooked teeth. Yes... exactly. Doctor Wong had a plan and systematically straightened her teeth to a glamorous Hollywood smile. I couldn't believe this was the same mouth. It completely transformed her face. I was in awe... We are back now 5 years later for the youngest. Not as bad as the oldest but still has her own set of mouth problems. Picture major over bite. She just got the braces put on last month and I am already seeing improvements. The office uses the latest and greatest in orthodontic technology and they don't skimp. No old school materials and techniques here. One can appreciate a doctor that is always looking to improve his craft and better his clients experience. Appointment times are always on schedule so you won't be stuck waiting around which is amazing. The front office and support staff are all so very nice. They make you feel really welcome. Doctor Wong has his craft down to a science. Anytime anyone asks me how my kid has such a beautiful smile..I point them his way. So if you're looking for the best orthodontist in the bay area.. make an appointment and you will see what I mean. 5 stars! read more

On Oct 4, 2021, Dr. Wong put braces on my daughter's bottom teeth. After 3 weeks (today is OCT 25), my daughter found this small metal piece (in picture below) in her mouth when she was brushing her teeth. Did this bracket fall off? I am glad she didn't swallow it! I will call the office tomorrow morning to schedule a visit. This reminds me of two other visits. One time we had to go back to get instruction on how to clean teeth. The office didn't tell my daughter after they added rubber band on braces. The other time we had to go back to cut her wire. Her wire was too long and constantly poked her gum. We found out this during the regular dental cleaning appointment with our family dentist. I hope these incidents won't happen in the future. I will continue to provide update. read more

My son had his braces here. The staff was amazing and so is Dr. Wong. I would highly recommend them :)

I didn't want to be hasty about my review, so I held off my 5 star review until I had a few appointments here. I absolutely love this practice!! Dr. Wong has tremendous integrity and I would follow his suggestions blindly, if I had to. That's how much faith I have in this doctor. The process to make appointments has been seamless and we haven't encountered any problems on any front. My son's best friend was a patient here and that's how I found out about Mr. Wong and I am incredibly grateful for that. Our first appointment to take pictures of my son's mouth just won me over. They have good technology in place to make this process smooth. I wish more Dentists could follow such practices. A big shout out for this amazing and incredibly modest star doc!! read more

Thanks to a referral from a very close friend, and a rubber band bracket that fell off, I found Dr. Andrew Wong and his ALL STAR team! A little backround on me, I had braces growing up, and being the irresponsible teen I was, I had lost my retainer at age 13 and never looked back. Fast forward to last year. My teeth had shifted, and my Sister in Law (who is an Orthodontist in Nevada) gave me and my hubby Invisilign for our wedding present. Yup, It's my second Rodeo. I will be done with my treatment soon, but I needed to find a local Ortho who could help me replace my missing bracket asap. I grew up in the area, and always saw this office building in the parking lot of the Newpark mall, but never ventured in. Well, today was the day! There is plenty of parking, and a large portion of it was shaded too! Score! I took the elevator to the second floor, and soon found myself in the company of the kindest Ortho team I have ever met. I was also greeted by a smiling by Dr. Wong who happened to be in the front office as I walked in. Not all teams are this great, and boy do I have experience on that. I wish Yelp was around when I needed braces the first time ! Other than the friendly office, everything was clean, modern and felt very open and bright. Dr. Wong also has all the newest gadgets and up to date Ortho tools. Dr Wong got my bracket on and set in just a few seconds. A friend who is also a patient here mentioned they have a digital scanner for impressions. No more choking on that uncomfortable mold for your impressions. Thank you Jennifer (Treatment Coordinator) for being so nice and working with me due my special circumstance. Like the other yelpers before me, I totally agree. The entire team here is "so friendly and happy it's as if they all went through Disney training". That was just so cute and on point I had to repeat it. Every single person said bye to me as I was leaving the front office. I felt welcomed into their Dental family. This office also runs on time and on schedule. I arrived early to fill out the patient form (Yes, me EARLY!! surprised?) and I saw Dr. Wong right on time. I was charged a VERY reasonable price for an office visit to fix my bracket. My friend also got several quotes and said Dr. Wong's was the most competitive in pricing. Saving money too? That should really give everyone something to smile about right? For anyone looking for that perfect smile, definitely come here. Your wallet and your teeth will thank you :) **Note** Remember to wear your retainers!!! If not, Dr. Wong will be here for you lol... read more

Coming here is like going to Disneyland. Dr Wong and his team treat you super extra special. Everyone are so nice and they really care about their patients. Doesn't matter what service you are getting, they treat you as special. I first came here a year ago to replace my 15 years old retainer. I found their price to be very affordable so I decided to come here. Little did I know Dr Wong and his team provides an excellent service. He told me, when you get a retainer from here, you are my patient for life. WOW! How many business can actually say that? Most business would just make a retainer and see me off for the next 10 years. I'm only getting a cheap retainer and Dr Wong said I'm his patient for life. I'm just speechless at that moment, just take my money Dr Wong! This year I came back again because my lower teeth(never had a retainer) started to move. Dr Wong said it's an easy fix and got me a clear retainer. When I was about to pay, the receptionist charged me a really low price. She said they just lower the price by 33% recently. I was just in awe. Prices goes up everywhere but this office reduced their already-affordable price. If you are looking for some orthodontist, look no further, come to Dr Wong. ps. My lower teeth are back to perfect just in 1 week, thanks Doc! read more

That should tell you a lot about the top notch quality of Dr Wong's work. Harvard educated and graduated. That in itself should have already made your decision for you. Dr Wong is so professional and and friendly that you just wanna be his friend, not his client. And his entire team treats you like family it's insane! Honestly, don't waste your money going to anyone else. If you do end up with someone else, not only will you regret it, but your teeth will resent you read more

My husband has only gone here for a consultation, my review covers up to that experience. I will provide future updates as well. He said the staff is super nice and friendly. They were completely transparent on what works he needs done on his teeth prior to getting the braces and the type of options available for his teeth. I also respect that they were very transparent on the cost, even going into detail on them being an out of network provider and how much insurance covers with them versus going to an in-network provider. They covered the costs and provided different payments options. I really respect that they would go over all of the cost options especially if it means that they could lose their customers to someone who may be a little bit less expensive. Dr Wong was very thorough on what will be covered and the work that my husband's teeth need. He definitely had a great first impression of the office, and we're planning on going with Dr Wong for my husband's braces experience. read more

I have just finished my treatment with Dr. Wong and his team and I am genuinely sad that I won't get to regularly see them anymore. They are undeniably such honest and kind individuals who make you feel as if you're part of their family. From my initial consultation, Dr. Wong was extremely knowledgeable and so easy to talk to. He and Jennifer very warmly walked me through my treatment and answered all of my questions. Jennifer has such a loving personality and you feel right at home with her. When I started my treatment, I got to meet Connie! Connie is so much fun and very proficient. I loved getting to sit down and chat with her. She and Reyna are incredible. I appreciated the fact that they always had a smile on their face and actually remembered our conversations from past appointments. I looked forward to stopping by because it felt as if I was visiting a group of friends! Dr. Wong would join in on the fun as well, I can't express enough how delightful every appointment was! Kim and Patricia are just as great. They always joyfully greeted me and made sure my payments and appointments were good to go. I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet them all. Needless to say, I strongly recommend visiting them if you want a beautiful smile! I am in awe with my end result and love how my smile turned out. I recently had a re-treatment for braces at Dr.Wongs office (I have braces back on as of today). I went here about 5 years ago and since then forgot to wear my retainers...So here I am later in life with braces (although its not that bad) My first experience as a I believe I was (6th-8th grade) wearing braces was very good. Dr.Wong is super friendly and his office is super kid friendly, he does games, and keeps his waiting room fun (although I have never spent more than a minute in the waiting room and I have been there 20+ times - I guess it is for the people you come with...) Today though, obviously I don't want to have braces...Well Dr.Wong said he can fix me up quick(within 6 months) and gave me 3 options: 1.Braces 2.Braces w/ clear brackets 3.Invisaline (almost invisible) They gave me payment plans as well as early payment discounts for all 3 options and used as much of my insurance that they could. Here I am with braces and I feel great in the hands of Dr.Wong! When I get my teeth straight again, retainers are included in the treatment and the new design is wayyyyyy more discrete, they look more like a clear mouth guard. I will just have to wear those at night. read more

Between 2004 and now (September 2013 as I write this), my family has experienced consistently excellent service from Dr. Wong and his staff. http://www.ifixsmile.com/ I have two daughters who have been patients of Dr. Wong starting at nine years old. My eldest daughter had two treatment phases that ended when she was 14, and she is off to college this fall with a most beautiful smile. My other daughter is currently 14 and in her second phase. I told Dr. Wong that I'll need a baseball bat to protect my daughters from boys after their braces have been removed. Since I was always accompanying my daughters to their office visits I decided to have my lower teeth straightened in 2008-2009. Dr. Wong installed wire braces that have resulted in perfectly straight lower teeth. My treatment only required one year in total. Dr. Wong's staff is very friendly and at least three of his staff members (Kim, Jackie, Betty) have been with him for at least the last ten years or so. That says something about how great Dr. Wong is. Dr. Wong has been schooled at UC Berkeley, U Penn, and Harvard - WOW! I am a medical device engineer and when I expressed interest in the science behind orthodontic treatment, Dr. Wong let me borrow a great textbook he had describing the force vectors and the mechanics involved. They have a extensive selection of colored rubber bands. The girls loved changing their colors with the seasons, orange and black being favorites at Halloween, and also since those are the colors of their high school (Washington in Fremont). Dr. Wong does conventional wire braces and also offers "invisible" braces. That is important since the invisible braces are not right for all situations. I needed the wire for my lower teeth since a lot of movement was required. Braces through Dr. Wong's office are more affordable than I had initially imagined. After each treatment phase is paid for, there are no additional costs for office visits regardless of how many you need, even after your braces are off and you're just wearing a retainer. Also, discounts were available for multiple family members and for paying the full amount in advance. On the whole, my family and I have found Dr. Wong and his staff to be an awesome orthodontic team. I highly recommend them to anyone with crooked teeth! read more
