When I went in, Dr. Yalung was equally fantastic: so nice, pleasant, and incredibly thorough. On top of the top-tier care, they were actually the least expensive option I found to get a retainer made. I was also thrilled to see how much the technology has changed since I last had this done. There was no disgusting mold or goop in my mouth at all; the entire thing was done with a quick, digital scan. My retainer arrived exactly on time two weeks later and fits perfectly. I've been a patient here for the past 2 years & they have been great. I needed braces to prepare for jaw corrective surgery and Yalung's office was a recommendation from my dentist in getting the consultation for how to look into my underbite and potential jaw corrective surgery later on. It was determined through Dr. Yalung that jaw corrective surgery with Kaiser was needed and braces to prepare and make adjustments for that surgery was needed as well. Dr. Yalung's office has been terrific along this journey the last couple years. The entire staff is very friendly and welcoming. There are personalized messages in the waiting room for new patients & for checking in, etc. Along with decorations for the time of year and such. They make you feel very comfortable and welcome. Even if I've wanted to come back after an appointment to ask for an adjustment they have been very accommodating. First of all, I didn't mean to do the review but when I came across the reviews for Dr. Jelson and Dr. Dianne Chun, I noticed some of them were done by people from SoCal. Interesting. So I decided to share my real experiences. Dr. Jelson's staff needs to be retrained. Be careful on the billing part when they tell you something over the phone. It might be different when you are in the office. Dr. Dianne's Staff is definitely much better. I wonder why no one was carried over to Dr. Jelson. Also, Dr. Jelson is friendly but Dr. Dianne is definitely much more experienced. I had no choice and had to come for my older one who was with Dr. Dianne Chun, but for my younger who was about to start, we did not come back. read more

My family had an amazing experience with Dr. Chun and her staff. I was the first in my family to get orthodontic treatment there, and my parents were so satisfied with my treatment that my two brothers ended up getting their braces done there as well. Dr. Chun and her staff are very caring and friendly; I never felt anything less than comfortable when I went in for consultations or checkups. For example, when rubber bands were introduced to me as part of my treatment, I had a lot of difficulty figuring out how to get them on properly. It was embarrassing how long it took me to be able to put them on and take them off smoothly, but they were incredibly patient and nice about it. I also appreciate how Dr. Chun was always willing to answer any questions that we had and made sure that we knew exactly what was happening at each of the different stages of treatment. My brothers and I all love how our teeth turned out, and my parents can't thank Dr. Chun more for providing such quality treatment. Long story short this office did not want to deal with me and my Foster kids because we are on Medi-Cal, and we are poor, and we had to be approved for funding for the braces through the county before we could actually get the braces from this office. When we first went there everyone was extremely nice and I thought I had found the orthodontist office that I would be bringing all my foster and biological kids to and recommend to everyone but unfortunately things did not go as planned.. as with any county funding it took forever almost 6 months now for the funding to come through for the braces so once I got back in contact with them and wanted to evaluate my other two daughters as well for the braces they scheduled me two more evaluation appointments and then *** called me on the same day of the appointments, one hour before their appointment to cancel our appointments!!! *** stating that there are other offices closer to my house that take Medi-Cal that would be able to "better help me with my funding situation" but Medi-Cal does not pay for anything that is not dentistry so they basically just Told me we would fit in better at place that helps low income people and takes Medi-Cal and denti-cal. I highly recommend the office of Dr. Chun. I initially went to this office after my previous dentist who wasn't specialized in orthodontics had caused my bite to be misaligned. I saw that doctor for teeth straightening with Invisalign, but I ended up unsatisfied with the results. After seeing Dr. Chun, I was reassured and she agreed that the resulting misalignment was not normal as my previous dentist insisted. Dr. Dianne Chun and her staff are truly is the best orthodontic office around!!! I got my braces at 19 years old, as a younger teen I didn't want them and I didn't go to the dentist much growing up. Once I became an adult, I started seeing the dentist more they recommend I look into getting braces so I could clean my teeth and bit better. So they referred me to Dr. Chun and the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by Dr Chun and her staff. Dr Chun was very good about helping me understand everything about my treatment. I did take me a while to get use to the braces but her staff made me feel comfortable and reassured me that everything I was feeling was normal. Appointments and payments were always within reason and easy to manage. I couldn't believe how fast my teeth got straight and my bit was fix. Their attention to detail in my smile was their main priority. Any concerns I had (some spaces between teeth) were talked about and addressed. When my daughter needed braces, I researched many orthodontists and after talking to friends and neighbors I narrowed my choice to 3 doctors and went for an exam with each. The first doctor seemed OK but rushed through the exam and didn't really explain the treatment. The second doctor was $700 cheaper but seemed really aggressive and pressured us to "start right away". Dr. Chun was the last exam and she was very thorough in her exam and she explained everything clearly without using a bunch of technical terms. Her fee was higher, but she really "connected" with my daughter and us, so we chose her. Our daughter just got her braces off and the results are amazing! When her teeth were crooked and twisted, she was shy and did not smile much. Now she does not stop smiling because her friends (including the boys) all tell her how pretty she looks, and this has really increased her self-confidence. We expected braces to help but never expected such a transformation. Throughout the braces, Dr. Chun and her staff were always friendly, supportive, and caring.
