My husband and I went to her…read morekitchen twice for tastings (I had gone alone the first time, and my husband wanted to come and meet her too before committing) and her collection of samples (as opposed to her "top 5 best sellers" that a lot of other places used as samples) were incredible and allowed us to see some of endless possibilities for our cake. We finally decided on a hazelnut cake (that she actually grinds hazelnuts into the flour), with layers of poached pear (in pear liqueur) mousse and caramel mousse, with buttercream frosting. It was better than we could have ever hoped for, and many of our friends and family commented on it being the best cake they had every tried! We are counting the days to our "anniversary" cake that Judy will be providing us next year!

We had a lot of fun exploring the different cake and specialty shops, with elaborate displays with many options to taste and choose from. Even at Judy's shop there were so many options. But she stood out because of her insistence on high quality ingredients, a perfection of layering light layers of cake with multiple mouse and fruit fillings, and her great focus on service and quality. My favorite part, besides eating the cake, was getting a computer generated preview of exactly what our cake would look like. Really, how cool is that? At our tasting she had the typical array of options, but she also had incredible combinations and flavors in mind that we didn't see anywhere else. The options weren't overwhelming either because Judy was careful to provide good constraints and recommendations on what goes with what. Not only that, she took great concern for the actual day of delivery considering weather and time of delivery. She warned us the cakes wouldn't be there by the time we arrived if it was too warm, so when that happened we didn't sweat. They magically appeared sometime after the ceremony and well before cake cutting time - they were on display and all. She came in and out like a ninja, we never saw her! Christina won us over with her flavors and enthusiasm, she provided some off the menu suggestions for mixing and matching sponge and fillings which was awesome. Ultimately, we settled on a mix of a traditional wedding cake (we were so pleased to get more than one flavor choice), along with a smaller gluten free cake and a number of sweet treats to appeal to a wide range of dietary restrictions and palates. When it came to design, Christina was very attentive to our inspiration photos/vision but also mindful of our budget as sugar past dahlias are not easy or inexpensive! When we discussed incorporating our dogs, she had a vendor lined up to make figurines and took care of the ordering process once we provided her some photos. It ended up serving 8 very hefty slices Opted for the Key Lime Pie which had a very thick graham cracker crust with a good amount of salt to balance out the sugar. Wow, what a god send of a bakery! A complete GF bakery?!?! Yayyyy!!…read more I am so excited when I found out they make vegan, dairy free pastries. Double checked...Dairy free means no milk, cream, yogurt, butter etc. so I look for labels that says DV, V. Everything is automatically certified gluten free and there is no worry on cross contamination. They don't use run of the mill commercial grade high gluten flour the website tells all. There's also paleo, keto options. As someone who hasn't been eating butter based pastries due to doctor's orders, this bakery is like finding gold. Our favorite after 2 visits are their vegan dairy free sea salt chocolate chunk cookie, their classic GF big chocolate chip cookie, vegan dairy free banana macadamia nut muffin, and my absolute favorite is their dairy free vegan sweet strawberry scone (with rhubarb, flax and coconut). I typically find scones to be bland and dry. Not these! I enjoyed these so much they were so moist and delicious but what I love most is the chewy bits on the edge. My hubby is a chocolate fiend but he usually get sluggish and sick to his stomach after inhaling a large chocolate pastry from other bakery. He ate their large size classic chocolate chip cookie and it didn't bother him. Tasted amazing too! Their sourdough is one of a kind. It's piping hot and available on a daily basis while supplies last. Nobody offers gluten free artisan sourdough fresh out of the oven on a walk in basis. It stayed hot for hours after I brought it home because it was such a dense dough. When I think about how much more time and work went into these special loaves (not mass produced) and loaded with nutrition, the $23.50 is worth it! The sourdough is super moist if you don't toast it there's almost a slight tacky feel to it. Once toasted, it is the best artisan toast eating experience. This am, I enjoyed an open faced peanut butter and blackberry jam toast. Appreciate also they provide on the package specific care instructions for the best experience. For the price, I made sure we wash our hands and did all the suggested prep needed. My only critique would be transparency on pricing in store and on website. It was mildly shocking when the register total was in the $80 range after 2 sourdough loaves and 6 pastries before tip. After eating it, we realized it's actually worth every penny. Eventually it does get monotonous for me. Recommend sharing it. Cardamom twist was the least favorite item. I do go to a lot of bakeries, cafes and artisanal shops. I always felt more at ease knowing what I was getting into from a financial standpoint. Tip is to look at their discounted items.
